What are you talking about not raid viable... Some of the best slam rot. warriors use a build that includes ms so they can get the bloodfrenzy debuff along with it... Hell, most slam warriors go for ms until they get the massive amounts of ap required to make bloodthirst godly.

If your referring to the fact that most raid dps warriors dual wield... Ms is just as good as dual wielding and can be better if the slam warrior isn't a huntard and knows how to do a rotation while clipping white attacks as little as possible. Further more, slam warriors don't require the same amount of +hit as dual wielding warriors and cap at 145 making it easier for them to spend more money on gems with stats for higher crit and ap. Not only that but, we won't miss like dual warriors do with their offhand quite often until they waste an obscene amount of yellow gemslots on +hit while slam can use those for their +crit.

Now commenting on the weapon... It's a very nice weapon because it's damage per hit is based on a 3.7 attack speed, yet it has haste and would work well with some haste gear to get a nice tight slam rotation. Also, it's not true that slower is better for slam rotation warriors. It's just that usually fast weapons don't hit hard... if you can get a slow weapon and speed it up to around 3.2 your gonna be doing way more damage than a weapon at 3.5+. However, if you have flurry (which you should as a slam warrior), you should calculate what that's gonna put your speed at and make sure you have more than 2.8 unless you have 0 latency and super cat like reflexes and can do a rotation at 2.6.

basically you can figure how much time you need by looking at what times you usually hit shit... in a perfect world you'd hit slam .4 seconds before a white attack and then after that white attack would only have 1.1 seconds till your instant which would then leave you with 1.5 seconds till you can use slam again +.1-.2 seconds based on reaction time. thats 2.6+ seconds there so your attack speed needs to be higher than that.

Oh yeah... i know some nub is gonna say slam resets your white attack and you can't use it before a hit, which is true except that .5 seconds before a white attack you can see yourself winding up for a swing... at this point  you can use slam without stopping your white attack since the attack  is already in motion. Try it if you don't believe me...

Nice sword though, gratz to whoever obtains this beast.

yes, this would make a good hunter weapon, but
all that hunters really look at is the stats on it, and a good hunter almost never melees, where as a ret pally or warrior, all they do is melee, making it more useful for melee classes.
570 top end damage is amazing for a 2H weapon, and it kills me to think that some hunter would be putting that to waste when a warrior could be using that every fight. as for your arguments that MS warriors are totally useless in raids, you are incorrect. like was stated before, they have the debuff that increases all physical damage taken by the target by 4%. on top of that, if you put them in a group with other warriors, they can stack shouts, and depending on the way they have specced (MS / fury so they have commanding presence), their shouts would be more effective than that of a purely prot specced warrior, which apparently is the spec everybody thinks that every warrior should be, despite the fact that MS and fury warriors make some of the best damage dealing classes in the game. or maybe, you  all do realize that and are  just jealous of that and possibly embarrased when you see that you are lower on the damage charts, so you all cry and say "nerf warriors to tanks blizz." in my opinion i think it is a load of bullshit when people say warriors aren't supposed to do dps, and the people who do say that are either

    a) people who can't move past pre BC when all warriors did was tank

    or

    b) disgruntled players who are mad at the fact that they have inferior dps than the warriors arond them

anyway, i think it's a great weapon, and congradulations to whoever gets it

and that ends my ranting session for the day

You haven't been playing with many good hunters then. A bst hunter would decimate any speccd wars dps of the same tiered gear. Even a decently geared MM speccd hunter could out dps ms/fury war. Enh shammies also can outdps wars on a regular basis solely based on their TF crits. Maybe if you had the Warglaives then I would believe it.

But Pre-Bc a war outdpsing a hunter meant one of several things: 1) The hunter had crappy gear and had no knowledge at all of what a shot rotation was 2) The hunter was severely undergeared or 3) You're bullshitting. I mean it did happen on occasion. I was fortunate enough to be guilded with the best dps war in our server (Kali wotwot) and he repeatedly beat me on the meters...until my gear caught up. Then it was a matter of what boss we were doing.

HOWEVER!!!  This is primarily a retadin/arms war weapon.  Do you see rogues/wars rolling on epic ranged dps weapons when the hunters need them?  Highly doubt it.  The classes that get the most use of an item should be prioritized, which amazingly - means the OP class that hunter is needs to realize they need to sit back and not roll on every piece of melee gear there is and let those that MELEE get their upgrades before them.

Because 95% of people on a server roll hunters, and 94% have no idea how to use them. And from your post I'm kinda guessing you one of the 94%.

But this isn't a bad hunter weapon. The extra stam can be nice for those times when your GOING to get hit (Hunters will get hit, even in PVE, ever heard of AOE Boss Effects?), The attack power is amazing, and haste is very nice since haste effects all hunter abilities. But, a hunter shouldn't be rolling on this is a Warrior or Pally wants it. Because we hunters are only in this for the stats, while a pally or warrior will be able to use its amazing DPS and the stats. So yeah hunters do have a right to this, but only after the classes that can utilize this the best have it or don't want it.

First 'o all, Trollbane is better but is indeed harder to get, but Trollbane oversteps this by a longshot...

Let the Warrior/Paladin get this, and then have them use that to rape the boss for your Trollbane... As if you have this then step it up for Trollbane, you just wasted alot of time...

If I had a good gun, another Hunter has a rifle that isn't as good as mine, I would let him have the upgrade, due to the increase of DPS for our raid that he would generate... Sure you loose a drop - But you get more DPS allowing you to raid Faster...

The problem with the hunter class is that their are so many idiots out there that bring down our class and btw if a warrior using 2h wep is out dpsing a hunter then that hunter does not know how to play( a good fury warrior duel wielding is a different matter). Remember not all hunters are crap (90% probably are) and its unfair to have a dig at hunters that actually stack haste to get their ideal wep speed from a slow ranged wep. Remember haste mainly comes from BT/hyjal alot of players will not see them while they might well see and clear all of ZA (does not require 25 skilled players only 10) Theirs miles better weaps out there for warriors paladins and arguably hunters 2 specially the arena one but like I said if someones got their mind on stacking haste this would be the ideal melee wep for a hunter to go for. Enough said stop flaming hunters its not our fault majority of our class is other classes that failed rerolled and thought hunter would be ez mode :) .

Wow thats some awsome pre-TBC thinking youve got there lol

ever heard of slam spec warriors? its a raid support spec tht uses a 2h, and b4 you try and say warriors with 2h's carnt match dw warriors for dps (at least till MH/BT) i said support, the main attraction of this type of dps warrior is tht it gives +4% dmg to all physical damage the warriors target recives, (this includes physical damage from every hunter, warrior, feral, rogue, pet shamen, paladin and whatever in the raid) plus you can buff your grp for like 400 attack power

obvously this spec is more usefull in 25man than 10mans but still, if a 2h dps warrior wants this as a main weapon they shud have pref over a hunter tht wants it to improve a few stats

also on hit abilities on 2h's arnt as good as stats, and it dosnt need any str when its FIFTY DAMAGE A HIT HIGHER THAN ANY 2H EARLIER IN THE GAME!!

however i do agree tht a prot warrior needing this for pvp is gay

Caervek while your statement carries some weight, it doesn't change the fact that Hunters are the only class (rare off-specs aside) that use 2h melee weapons in PvE primarily.  Now, if a guild HAS this Blood Frenzy Warrior, and wants to gear them, as previously said, there are many other options available.  If they are absolutely insistant on chosing a weapon that benefits Hunters greatly, then they should feel free to roll against them.

However, this whole "Warriors should get preference" thing is pure nonsense.  Yes, Hunters use their 2h weapon for stats almost entirely, however those stats account for a great deal.  In most cases, it's the weapon's stats, not the raw DPS, that you're after, whether you're a Warrior, Hunter or otherwise.  Between our melee weapon(s) and our ranged weapon, we get, by far, the majority of our stats from the melee weapon(s).  So how many classes do we have to pass to?  1h weapons to Rogues/Fury Warriors/Enhance Shamans and now all 2h weapons to 2h Warriors?  I'm curious as to where Hunters are supposed to get this big chunk of stats we'd be missing (I'm guessing the scraps left over?).  While the gain for this specific type of Warrior may be slightly higher than the Hunter's gain, to demand some sort of preference purely on that basis is wrong.

Besides all that, my argument isn't even that Hunters should get preference here; I'm saying it should be a roll off.  That is, provided the Warrior will use it for PvE.  Rolling on PvP gear in raids is unacceptable, in my opinion.

I would never roll on a bow despite its awesome stats vs a hunter, because regardless of how much I benefit from them as a warrior, a ranged weapon is a hunters primary weapon.

The stats are excellent for a hunter, but regardless of them a hunter will never melee in a PvE environment.

Retri pallies are raid viable. MS warriors are extremely raid viable and this weapon is excellent for both of them.

So if either is present and has a need for it. They should get prio over hunters hands down.

You crazy bastards. in comes the troll

All of you. First, this is a hunter weapons, hand down, and it is of NO use to pallies and very little to MS warriors. states that he is indeed a nub

Hahah, none. further states that he is a nub

Guess what, I am a ret paladin. a ret that doesnt know how to play his spec.. prolly ebayed

Let me tell you why... his understanding to the game thus far, which is prolly just a few days worth... ebayed?

First, it is too fast, compared to stormerheald, which is 3.8, and though it adds a "Lot" of dps, or ap, I'm sorry but with BoK and the 10% increase strength (that pallies get) stormheald has ABOUT the same ap, and the DAMAGE of stormerheald will outclass that extra 2 dps :P very obvious comment about SH. kinda like saying JR is a sword. The BoK comment is IF you have a BoK on you... the "extra 2 dps" actually is 7.2. Clearly misses the fact that SH is mainly better (PVP wise) cuz of the stun proc a (doesnt mean shit in PVE), and the 579 top end dmg vs JR's 570. Str and AP does matter, but is negligible given the fact that SH = 84 ap (92.4 w/o kings) while JR is 120 ~ 27.6 AP difference in comparison with SH w/ BoK. Dunno if this is correct but 14AP = 1 dps? If so, SH = 127.0 DPS, JR = 136.2 DPS.. which equals 9.2 difference in "dps".

For pallies, haste shits on us, for it makes seal of command not work, and for ms warriors, this CAN be of use with the haste and all... states that SoC DOES NOT WORK with haste. Does this mean we dont have it at all? Last time i checked, SoC was a time based proc. Which means it still will proc, just at a lower % per swing than with a slower wep. For full calcs, pls look at my above long ass post

Now all of you may think I am nuts. acknowledges that he is indeed nuts, and going crazy for that matter for thinkin the way he thinks

But considering that any perso ncan now BUY (that's right, friggin buy) nethers and vortex's in patch 2.4 and they are no longer BoP, Stormerheald is going to be EASY as hell to get and I personally wouldn't mind dumping lots of gold on it. "NOW" is current time, 2.4 is not current time. Once the patch comes out, pls repost with "NOW". SH will indeed be easier not "EASY" to get. And by buying mats (including vortexes) clarifies that he does not care HOW he gets a wep... even if this means ebay. I guess if you dont care about a char in the first place, buying a wep is nothing.

Heh, this is why stormerheald is better. It's actually friggin easier to get and has got a slower speed. means that since he bought his char, he has no guild, or has no guild progression. By "easier" he means that he has no prob dishin out $xxx.xx to fund his mats for the wep. "Has got a slower speed" again mentioning that common sense is indeed common sense. I guess he wants to clarify to see if he is correct? 3.8 > 3.7 (3.5 w/ haste).

Beat that, you bastards. just like how he gets beat in BG's/arena most likely

One of the above posters proposed that stormherald is significantly better because it is 3.8 instead of 3.7. Speed only matters because a higher speed requires higher top end damage to achieve the same amount of dps as lower speed weapons, which is useful for instant abilities. HOWEVER, speed ONLY matters insofar as it makes the top end damage higher. Stormherald's top end damage is 9 higher than jin'rohk, which is more than made up for by the extra attack power.

This weapon is obviously very good in the hands of anyone who is a dps spec and can wield it.

Of course I won it just now on my hunter.

Our MT warrior didn't roll on it....nono he won the gun from Teron the other night which would have been marginally better for me than Legionkiller which I have.....

you guys both are idiots then

      1. Anyone can lie about what class they play/like the most

      2. "It's an upgrade" isn't the only thing you should be considering. If I had to choose between a hunter who attends all raids and an MS warr/ret pally who can only make one or two days it should go to the hunter (or they should at least be allowed to roll on it). This kind of gear isn't class specific for a reason, same as Trollbane. You would hope people would be mature enough by the point they're raiding ZA to put the benefit of their guild above being an epic whore
