Checking around the forums and listening to other players, it seems to me that many inguore or under use Cooking.  Everyone knows that food will restore health but few seem to talk much about the buffs that eating can add.  I am a mage and I can make all the 'free' food and drink I want. But I value my cooking and it is all do to the added buffs for spirit and stamina.  By eating buff foods, I have had just enough life to make it out some tight situations.  If your a tank, food is your fuel.  If you are a Warlock or priest, spirit increase saves you time in generating mana.

The strategy is simple, always store you components in your bank.  Once in awhile go a city, find an inn or cook trainer that has a cooking fire and make all your all the foods you need.  All the recipes below require spices (which are not listed) you buy from vendors.  And you really never need to carry wood or flint.

What is listed below is a shorten list of recipes with the main component.  If you are computer savvy and knowledgeable with Excel, you could covert the list into a spreadsheet and sort by components.  Now this list was pulled from Thottbot the old fashion way so there could be error.  I hope this make cooking more useful for all.
