I'm a level 38 Draenei, so I chose Jewelcrafting and mining, since draenei's have a bonus for jewel cutting.

I do Herbalism and Enchanting. Herbalism is a good way to get money at low levels. Enchanting makes you better cause you enchant your own stuff.

Im A JCer, even though im lvl 13, i find it extremely useful. you get some money out of it at higher lvls to, i would also reccomend alchemy and herbalism, if your not a dreinai, it gives nice boosts too

I am a level 70 Tauren shaman with Skinning 375 and herbalism 390. Leather and high end herbs/flowers sell well on the AH. Go for the gold. "For The Horde!!"

enchanting IS GOOD the buffs make some up 4 us +AP +Str +HP + SPell damage (elemental resto) and can make money ......DEing selling mats works good

well i chose JC and mining and i have found it very fun as well as profitable. JC actually benefits shamans quite well considering they get some kick trash rings that really help no matter what your spec is, as there are rings to suit every class. But choose the profession that you enjoy the most, may it be leatherworking or enchanting, the game is supposed to be fun so do what you think is fun.

Im 45lvl got Alchemy 242 herbalism 281 and say they are pretty good.

if your not in a raidgild best joice ist weaponsmith to get the nice big epic weapons like deepthunder .... or if you like pvp engineer is a good joice

I'm a lvl 34 tauren shaman with skinning and LW. I find both make a good profit but i'd say out of the two go for skinning definitely.

If you want great money from professions, get mining, skinning or herbalism as proffs, then sell at action house. If your sells are successful, sell them for slightly more next time, but make sure its 20 of the same thing that your selling,
eg; 20 copper ore, or 20 medium leather. Otherwise you dont sell as easily.

Listen. If you want to make money then pick skinning mining and stfu. You can do that on any character.

If you PvP and want to combat a lot of our class' weaknesses such as lack of stun, go engineering.

The bombs and grenades add crucial crowd control to your list of abilities, where as such trinkets as the Poultryizer, Invulnerability belt and Goblin Rocket Launcher add other very helpful abilities and can give you the edge you need.

We're an underpowered class. Using the discombobulator ray, a frost grenade and the invulnerability belt has won me more battles than I can count. You can BUY potions, gems and enchants other than few profession only exceptions. Engineering stuff is mostly for engineers only and can greatly affect the tide of battle.

Go goblin for more stuns and arena viability. THat Goblin ROcket launcher IS arena usable and WILL hurt people's feelings. Go Gnomish for survivability. That belt helps a lot.

oh and by the way, you can do engineering on any character as well....

Well, i have seen alot of decent gear made by leatherworking, so if you want to make your own gear, then go Skinning/Leatherworking and go dragonscale. :)

javann77, what blacksheep meant is that most engineering items require an engineering skill lvl to use it, so non-engineers cant use any of the cooler stuff.

Leatherwoking Gives mail ARMOR leather Armor AND KITTS. The best frekin part are kitts of +10 stmina on 5 itms + 40 Stmian<>12 Agil on pants CRAP!

Those 2 are the best cuz u make Frekin IMBA mail armorof watchu want Heal or Dps.
Belt of Natural Power + 2 sokets of 15 Stamina = WOW!
Shoulder of the Lightning Reflexes + 30 AP<>10 crit= COOL!

Depend's if you want to make your own armor go LW JC and buy the mats.  Or if you are one of the lucky one's you have alts that can farm for you.  Blizz really messed up with all the BOP crafted Items there is really good Crafted shaman gear in both BS and Dragonscale.  But the worst part is all the Epic gems that are BOP.  The best thing I can tell you is look at the High lvl crafted and see if you want BS or LW and if you don't like them then just do JC and mining.

OK, for shammies, the most beneficial profession is definitely engineering. It does not make any money so be prepared for that, but you can make things that nobody else can use and you have to be an engineer to use. I like goblin engineering personally. with the Goblin rocket launcher and the Bigger one, thats 8 total seconds of them being stunned for you to either cast lightning, or run up and smack the hell outa them. plus the Goblin RL has a 45 yrd range, and the bigger one has a 10 yard radius so you can stun everyone around the flag in BGs and then you got 5 seconds to do what you want. Plus, engineering is just plain fun. the mechanical pets you can make are great for detecting those annoying invisible rogues.

Here's what i do agianst locks
Goblin rocket launcher
run into lightning range, Chain lightning (their still stunned)
The Bigger One
Chain lightning
Run up and use Stormstrike
groundint totem,
if they cast use ES
they should be dead real soon

What noob locks do u PvP against becuse i doubt tht  ur lil combo u just listed will work on any skilled lock(deathcoil ur A@# b4 u get to cast Goblin Rocket launcher) and for professions Eng isnt the best choice i have a  goblin eng on my hunter lv 375 bad choice i think  no money u get from them and u will rarely use ur bombs im pvp because everything is so fast paced  ud prolly be better off using ur own moves on them rather than a 3-5sec stun  id say go BS or JC  or if u want money herb/skin  make alot of cash and are easy to farm mats

If you didn't realize, the goblin rocket launcher has a 45 yard range compared to deathcoils 30 yards. also the reason i mentioned bombs for their 3-5 second stuns is because shamans have nothing of their own that can stun. also, i forgot to mention that because shamans are casters both the rocket launcher and the bombs can crit (making it really funny when the rocket launcher does and almost 1 shotting some squishy)

Mining?  Farming is for people who don't mind being bored when they should be using their available time having fun.  I recommend skinning because its easy to level and you don't have to go out of your way to do this.  Skin sells for good cash.  I've also had great success with leatherworking.  Kits set well.  Especially when you can make knothide leather kits(Who can't use +8 Stamina)?  There are also items that disenchant to make huge profits.  Clearly, this advice applies to all classes.

Though I like Skinning/leatherworking (its made lots of money and good gear ) I'm intrigued by naromkid's comment.  A little crowd control would be helpful for shamans, especially.  The lack of CC is considerred a major weakness.
