Its all the player/ gear difference. I have seen MS warriors out DPS ret pallys and i have seen a RET pally beat everyone on the damage meter.

Prot warriors are great and so are Prot pallys. All holy damage caused by a pally = threat. And pallys have a ranged taunt that can agro 3 enemies. I dont know for sure how warriors tank (sunders/taunt)ect. But I have ran many instances/ raids with prot warriors, feral druids and prot pallys, and i actually perfer pallys with there way of controling and holding lots of mobs at once via consecration for the mobs your going to AOE and the occational OH S#!t. Plus pallys put out some decent damage while they are tanking. But its all the player IMO. Our MT for our raids right now is either a druid or a warrior and both are great at there jobs.

  So if you are trying to chose a pally or a warrior... Then its a toss up. What ever you think will be more fun for you, they both can tank and they both can DPS.


As a side not i LOVE seeing a prot warrior kill a mage with out even touching him. Saw it yesterday and i couldnt stop laughing. Hitting spell reflect and shooting a pyro blast back at the mage almost made me cry with laughter.

I have a hard time beliving that a pali can even come close to a warr on the DPS meters. Any great progression guilds will have a warr as MT in instances a pali or feral druid can be just fine but for instances Warr=MT and Warr=more DPS vs pali

mainly its just spec to me. a prot pally vs a prot warrior at level 70 thats just a tie the duel just wont end. holy vs arms, paladin wins. ret vs fury, warrior wins

prot warrior = best at tanking 1 single target (boss)
prot pala = best at aoe tanking multiple mobs

for dps i'd say warrior hands down.

dont forget that pallies can HEAL. A quick lay on hands = more mana (usually) and full hp, to himself or to another party member. Now a warrior cant do that.

Warriors generally are better at melee than paladins. Why? they are specifically melee based. This means later on, they have more hpand domore damage (on average). However they dont have the pally's bubbles or heals, which caneasily turn the side of battle.

Pally vs Warrior = pwnd warrior

warrior beats pally to low hp: bubble & heals, and pally hits back, after a while, pally needs to heal again... HoJ and heal, then Bubble and heal, bubble and heal, HoJ and heal. You cant beat a pally with a warrior unless you have a priest, or better gear. That's if both players areequally skilled though... (most alliance palllies are just a load of 12 year olds with a black and white imagination, and who bubblehearth out of dangerous situations).

Well, im a pally and ur right against a warrior the out dps us however warriors dont got any healings, bubbles, or lay on hand which pwns. so against warriors we kinda pwn....... if we have enough mana...... if not thats a different story.

I think your missing the whole point of this thread. The person was not talking about pvp.
