First of all, in a functioning Kara Raid there should be a trusted loot-master (or whatever it's called in English) and the ones who need these should roll for it! That is Warrior AND Paladin Tanks! Whoever wins is happy and the other one will get them next week or next time it drops. Simple as that!

I feel reminded of several of my recent expieriences. I am seeing many warrior players who are having a huge ego problem being an offtank or 2nd Tank in a raid. They bite their way to demanding the MT position at all cost, even if they are outgeared/skilled by another tank in the raid. Some do not see the only valid argument which is the success of the raid and not the spotlight shining on yourself!

I myself as Paladin Tank have involuntarily moved into the spot of being the MT for my Karazhan Raid. Simply because things go easier and we can run Kara extremely fast and with no CC except sometimes at Moroes or in emergency situations. The fact that 90% of Kara Mobs and many Bosses are undead gives Paladin Tanks a great Threat advantage.

The Warrior in my guild suddenly had huge ego problems saying that he does not want to stand around doing nothing (on trash mobs and e.g. Attumen) but slowly realized that benefit of the group is more important than ego bullshit. He did later on see how important he is for the group and how much he can contribute making things easier in situations like:
Tanking the maiden and having me decurse, helping with the astral flares at the curator, double tanking the skelletons at the opera event, double tanking in the opera, interrupting aran, double Tanking netherspite etc.

He was about to leave the guild and look for other groups but we were finally able to convince him of how important he is. Luckily he got the point and is now continuing. I am happy that my Warrior Teammate has overcome this ego bullshit and became even more valuable for the raid since he is a skilled and well geared tank and once we move into 25ers he is indisposable!

I am amazed how many Tanks and -in my expierience- especially Warrior-Tank-Players are having these initial Ego-Problems and need to be convinced of their importance. I have seen adults of 25+ of age litterally CRYING on the TS because they are jealous of people seemingly filling their spot and fail to realize their importance or are unwilling to step aside for the raids success if the situation calls for it.

I have NEVER seen Priest Players being jealous of Pallys, Druids or Shamans filling their spot here and there and being better healers depending on the situation. It really seems like the warrior class is played by a certain type of people.

Is this the same on US servers?

I am noticing that WoW is an interesting plattform for sociological/psychological studies.

Im sorry, but you seem to be mistaken.  Paladin tanks don't use +healing, and honestly dont need +int either.

Dont get PROTECTION (see the cap words) and HOLY paladins mixed up.  Prot paladins will have nearly identicle gear to a warrior until t5 raiding.  HOLY paladins use +INT, +HEAL, +SpCrit.  PROT paladins DO NOT.

I understand WoW is a game, and not everyone wants or cares to know all about it.. but any moron can figure out pretty quick that paladin tanks dont use +healing..  Please stop spewing your nonsense here.  You aren't even close to being correct.

And again, these bracers are good for paladin and warrior tanks alike.  Considering the ease of getting them, they are a worthy substitute for the bracers of the green fortress.

I think part of it is that warriors only have 2 routes open to them: dps (whether pvp or pve) and tanking, with no overlap in between.  If you do one, you *cannot* do the other effectively.  That being said, it's been my experience that in raids except for 25 mans, dps warriors aren't needed because the other classes will have much more useful abilties (sheep, sap, totems etc) or be unneccesary due to boss requirements (like Maiden's melee dps limit).  This tends to make most end-game warriors protection specced, and feel entitled to protection-oriented plate drops, which leads to clashes with  protection paladins should they be in the same group.  Personally I prefer a MT/OT warrior/druid combo to avoid those issues.

This post is faded because it has a negative score.
