Im a low (lvl 24)mage/tailoring/enchant. I also have a war/blacksmith/mining lvl 43.

I have found that its really easy to lvl my enchanting. First, my "main" warrior gets tons of cloth he don't need since he only need cloth for a) donations and b) first aid. All excess cloth I send to my mage, who then create green items to be disenchanted. The same goes for the items I create using blacksmithing.

At the current lvl for the mage I find it difficult to sell the mats from disenchanting green items for any real profit.

But when I lvl my warrior in blacksmithing I only create green items, so my mage can disenchant them... I could probaly sell some of it on AH, but I won't since I would rather lvl my mage.

I think this works setup sweet. But I can imagine that if you only had one character and a profession of enchanting it would be quite difficult to lvl in the beginning.

I love the tailoring and especially since having my main sending all kind of (at his lvl) useless stuff I can lvl quite easy.

On a side note... I luv my mage! and I absolutely hate blacksmithing!

ok, this is a common problem. as someone who dropped Alchemy 375 for enchanting, i have a different perspective on this.

If you can't figure out whether to DE or sell an item, ask yourself this: Do i need the gold right now for something? if the answer is no, then DE it.

By selling it, You may make a little more cash now, but once you get to 250-275 enchanting skill you will never have a cash flow problem again. Ultimately the skill-ups become worth more than couple of gold you could get from selling the item.

Actually, in my experience DE is guaranteed to give you more gold (if you sell the mats). The ONLY exceptions are BOE blue items (which sell for quite a bit) items you are actually going to use, and low level BOP blue items, since (on my server at least) you can usually get more money by vendoring the item than selling a shard for a few silver.

It helps to have Enchantrix, which is a mod that tells you what everything DEs into, and along with Auctioneer will tell you the estimated DE value of the item. Not only is the DE value at least equal to the auction value of the item, if not higher, DE mats sell better and have no deposit.

Even if you are going to use the mats to level, you still benefit. Let's say it takes 40 soul dusts to gain 20 levels of enchanting. If you disenchant a few more items, you will get more dusts, which means, in the long run, you will have more leftover to sell. If you are in dire straights, you can sell the dust and make a few gold within a couple hours.
