I've spent the last half hour or so reading these posts...I know I'm gonna get flamed by people for saying this, but I DW these swords on my rogue...I have Latros Shifting sword with Mongoose on it and have tried both setups...While it might seem odd my overall DPS is about the same between the Latros Shifting Sword and my twin Felsteel Longblades...Over the course of quite a few Kara runs I've tried running 1 week with Latros, and the next week with Felsteel in the offhand and with no new gear from the week before, my damage output was close but DWing the Felsteel Longblades did more overall than with the Latros...The larger white damage hits made up for the extra energy gains and quicker speed...The Longblades might not be the best swords in the game, on that point I will agree, HOWEVER, if you are a rogue and planning to switch from a dagger spec to a Sword spec they are the easiest swords to get that not only look good, but do a fair amount of damage...
They get the job done quite well, 99% of the time I top the damage meters even over rogues that carry things like the Spiteblade in their MH...If you're not getting good DPS out of a pair of these weapons you really need to consider re-rolling a new class...No offence to anyone...They're not top of the line, but they aren't bottom of the barrel either...They're a fantastic balance of looks and capability...
Some of the posters before this have it right, if you've never tried it you shouldn't knock it till you've actually used them...I don't put as much faith in the numbers game that people play when trying to "Prove" these swords don't work...Personally I think they're just trying to make themselves feel better about not taking the time to go farm the mats for them...Personally, with an epic flyer, I farmed all the mats (minus the Neithers of course) for BOTH swords in just over 3 days...That's the ore, and the Primal Mights for 2, count them 2 Felsteel Longblades...Sure you can take weeks to grind rep enough to get some that are marginally better, or spend twice as long (if you're a weaponsmith) to create some yourself that are better, however these things are easy, and work really well...And if you can't figure out how to swing them, you have no business being a rogue...
