Boomkin is much better for PvP than feral. Feral has its good points, like stealth, but personally I think boomkin is just more powerful. Resto healing pwns everything. I mean I'm level 60 and in my healing gear with ToL my HoTs heal for almost 400hp a tick! I mean wtf is that?! =D
Boomkin are awesome at 60, but at 70 it is a different story in PVP. You are up against more stuns, resilience, spell deflections, fast damage. While you still sometimes pwn newcomers, you will find yourself chipping away at a well-geared war, rogue, shaman. Cyclone lasts for only 6 sec, and many players will break your roots--especially in arena, you need to be able to avoid stuns and stay clear. Hard to do. I don't know how many times I've shapeshifted into bear from boomkin, which should be instant, only to watch "myself" being clubbed to death in elven form. Like people said before, it's best to do a hybrid and see what works. As with any class in this game, gear and stat enhancememts make all the difference unfortunately. Hopefully the next xpac will bring the druid back to its former glory.
Well i am a Moonkin called Enadril Hellscream server... as far for me i havent seen a SINGLE class that can beat me in pvp exept of course Vengefull warlocks nothing else... so if u are going for pvp get the s1 FTW and pwn thanks..

i was feral till around 50-55 cant remember exactly but even in bear form i got beat down fairly easy and then i respecced and learned of the power of the DOOMKIN...i say doomkin cause nothing beats you...exept the random s3 warlock and sometimes a well played prot warrior(spell reflect hurts T.T)...as for lvl 70 pvp i say doomkin ftw...and yes i have tried feral and it does great also =D

Boomkin=Over rated. I was so hyped about getting it at 40, and all it is is an armor increase and spell crit. Sure its usful, but its still pretty boring, and i always pwn boomkins, cause its to easy to silence them, and they have no decent instant casts except for a rediculously inefficient one that does horrible initial damage. Mages own moonkins, especially because of cs, and druid spells are so mana consuming. Feral can go on fighting forever, and pop out and heal thanks to in-form mana regeneration. Not to mention the insta invincibility bear form provides. With feral spec bearform gives extra armor(on top of the 400%), and gains the best druid pvp ability there is, feral charge. I see a boomkin about to use starfire, i charge them, and theyre stuck without spells for 4 seconds, after that i use my 5 sec stun, cat and take theyre health to below 50% before they can do anything. I watch for hybernate, i shift out of roots, and i just suffer through the cyclone. If i need to heal, nothings better than a 5 combo point maim to give me the time to cyclone and get all the heals i need, then cat form. By that time theyre completely exausted of mana and are hopelessly trying to run from me. Plus its kind of hard to cast anything except perhaps wrath with my 1 sec attack speed, and its hard to cast with me running around them with a 45% boost in speed, they always end up moonfire spamming me.

Moonkin are pretty good, im at 68 right now and while im sure it's a different game at 70, im not struggling at all right now. Don't judge them until you get some spell power, I didnt get really strong until mid 60's.
And feral druids are not that hard to kill. Yes you can shift out of roots, but it costs mana so I'm going to root you anyways. The same deal with hibernate. And you cant interrupt or silence my HoT's. Don't forget about the treants either. And you should never cast starfire in a fight, wraith is not as mana inefficient for me as it is for you. I can toss on Barkskin and chain wraith over and over and it takes down most people.
The biggest trouble for me are rogues. Even if I use the pvp trinket, they can stun me again or blind me, or shadow step or CoS, or sprint. Anyone have any advise?
MF is far from a weak instant cast...mayb u specd wrong? im lvl 52 and i can hit for 250 to 650 a shot with moonfire...chase me and ill spam u with mf...i think the problem isnt the intial dmg but the dot

i say that BOOMKINS FTW!!! no class and i mean NO class can beet a boomkin.. with the awsome power of trees ur unstoppable! + natures grasp is ALWAYS advisable to use on a rogue.
Any ways there is no BOOM in OOM thats why we carry mana pots i always say... and btw DOOMKINS never go outta mana, if they do just innervate and trees will do most dps for u.
when i was lvl 66 and my disc priest pal was 65 we actually PWNED a 66 Nelf hunter, 65 gnome rogue and 70 dwarf pally with gladiator gear...
so DOOMKINS + disc priest heals = OP!
boomkins are amazing. people always say stuff like 'oh they run out of mana really quickly' but i have NEVER had that problem i can kill about 4 mobs before going OOM.
i know they're porbably weak elites n everythin but them mountain gronns weren't a problem for me at all i just summoned treants on them insect swarm, moonfire, starfired until death. and i still had 75% mana? YEAH we're really low on mana arent we? *gives sarcastic look*
MY name is Halapeno. I am undefeated... 2 levels under and 3 levels over are the parameters used to determine the level range for these duels.. I've frequently dueled others much higher level than that.. Including many 8+ victories but I only count the ones previously mentioned.

I am a 66 Moonkin.. started leveling about a month ago .. I had decided I wanted t try a rp pvp server versus the reg. ones I have all my other toons on ..(70 feral/70frost/70fire/70enchancement/70subtlety) I knew I wanted a pvp monster...At least the potential for such. I have a feral and certainly wasn't willing to level with a resto so I decided to try a Moonkin.. Wow.. So exciting..the pve aspect is huge for me.. I am taking down mobs and blowing thru quests I had some marginal difficulty with on my other toons..every elite.For example in terokar/bone wastes.. On my feral.. In dire I had the most succes with elite quest Bosses.. I wasn't able to to solo the spider as a new 63 .. nor the Bone wurm... IN Nagrand I wasn't abloe to solo the Elite windroc till I had was about to leave the zone.. Those are examples.. with My Moonkin all but the Bone wurm went down at the earliest time i was able to get to them..I got him to less than 30% but to be honest I didn't realistically have a shot.. Innervate/pot/pets/dotz/hotz/ run run .... run
MY point is contrary to some opinions which are obviously not mine and so by default incorrect; moonkins if played with some reasonable intelligence and efficiency are easily the best I have played in pve grinding.
OK where was I? brag -brag- explain - lose train of thought.. ah, ok I now remember what I was saying...
In pvp a Moonkin had a million outs, Mobility being such a key factor that it goes without saying,,,yet I will say it nayway.. HOt_key Macro ..Do not rely on Moonkin form .. I am liable to hit every form but dire in every duel at least twice and travel form possibly 3 or more times.. The secret to my success is... I kill them faster than they kill me.. 90% of my duels I finish full life with Hots still ticking and well over 50% mana . Mobility.. don't spam... keep two dotz ticking .. keep minimum one hot ticking..Insist on the duel being waged in a safe Open outdoor area... Move.. Insist on time for all trinkets/cooldowns to repop. Insist on no pots.. Self buffs only...Move..watch your timers..learn to strafe you tardling.
I 'll hit 70 within the weeks or soon after! I am sure. And everything changes.. I know that.. I'm rather looking forward to it. I don't have the time to start yapping about level 70+(yes i said +) dueling. I have fair success on all my toons.. great success on my Ice mage.. even more success on my feral .. and I'm unbeaten on MY Moonkin

I'm 68 now. 6 more duels. All wins. Lucky me. One very smart rogue was able to stay on top of me but I got the win. Silly as it sounds I had been strafing side to side before I hit travel form to creat distance, so when I jumped thru him as he sprinted towards me I gained all the ground I needed for two hotz, a Nuke and both dotz.two Moonfire's finished that one... fought a few 70's and lost two. One to a Lock who smeared me all over the place..and one to a pally I got to 3% twice in the same fight.. I'm Oom most of the fight and he's regening every swing.. Bastaad.. .. fun tho)

On a side note I've finished top dps In the Shadow Lab and the Bot run I did this morning) Lowest person in the groups also . Woot!
Ok....for you who said feral is for pvp....you're wrong, resto is for pvp, 8/11/42 exactly, get's you control of nature, nature's grasp, feral charge and extra armor in feral tree. oomkins don't make it past most 5 mans, a few are allowed in guild runs of kara depending on how nice the GM is, and even less are allowed in SSC, TK and beyond. They will never do the damage of a mage/elemental shammy/shadow priest and don't have as cool of a buff...i'd rather have mana coming to me constantly than a 5% crit chance...personally, my regrowth has a 64% crit chance already, and i also get 3% just for being resto.

balance druids are known to be the most benificial class to raids and instances e.g.
battlerez
innervate
tranquility
5% crit chance
good aoe
and they are VERY VERY damaging.
if u dont beleive me i got a 70 elite to half health with 2 hits and im a 69 boomkin. a fully geared rogue took a long time to do that and died...
and boomkins are good for bosses coz of the trees :P they rock

RESTO IS ALL THAT DROODS ARE GOOD FOR. If I was to spec into something else, it would definetly be feral. As a lvl 60+, pre 70, i was pawning every horde that was silly enough to attack me, (i don't attack first). but boomkins... yeah, not really useful for PvE, nor PvP. i guess it's more of a personal spec that you'd tech in if you'd rather go solo, (pointless at 70, much?) balance is fun, yeah, but, not very useful to others.
and yes resto Droods are damn OP.
2v2 scenario:
wait till partner drops to 50%, nature's swiftness, healing touch, regrowth, rejuvenation, swiftmend, rejuvenation, lifebloom, rejuvenation on self, travel form, RUN. after that, keep those 3 HoTs on your partner, and at least rejuvenation on urself= OMFGWTFPWN!

Aight first thing, feral do not suck pvp, if played well, but a many people don't know what buttons to press when playing with that spec, I wtf pwn many people with it, only prob is shadowpriests and killing healers, but every class and talent spec has it's downsides. Boomkin are a good dps pve and pvp wih resto gear to support team members better. The resto talent tree, simply put, is why druids are overpowered, you have the potential to be jesus with that spec, which you could with other specs, but it's much easier as resto!
People, quit saying that a certain spec isnt a pvp spec, or pve spec. Every class and spec of that class is viable for raiding or pvp, should you have more of them in a raid is one factor and if they work well in the arena is another factor.I've seen many boomkins in 2k+ arena, seen even a few feral (REALLY?) in 2k+, and you know i've seen resto in 2k+.. BTW theres always a good boomkin or two even in the toughest of raids (BT), fact is, boomkins can and will be able to compete on dps with mages and all the others, for thinking that an ele sham does less damage than a boomkin is just false. Its a toss up. Ferals i have to admit dont get in on t5+ raids often, but i've seen a full t6 feral dps and tank. So please lets add to the thread, not spout comments with no basis that have been proven false before you even said it.

I think your ego is bigger than your skill. On my shadowpriest vs moonkin Dot, Fear, MB,MF, Silence, MB, SWD. Moonkin dead.
Like the hunter, If a moonkin catches you unprepared yes, their burst damage will take you down fast, but in arena moonkin is nothing special.
Feral on the other hand sends shivers down my spine....
Always keep in mind that Panzerkins can tank raids (RAIDS!) in their PvP gear. THAT is what i call OP! If u do not trust me on this one i strongly reccomend u search the web for some info about Panzerkins (AKA Moonkin tankz).
Dont hate me for saying this. If u investigate u will too come to the conclusion that Boomkins where MENT to tank.
