It seems as if from the last patch the recipe from the lil guy in Gadgetzan now only takes you to cooking 275 and the only recipes that cover the gap need fish!!

Look up sand worm meat, there is some desert stew recipie obtainable from an NPC in silithus that takes you up to and past 300 using only sand worm meat, which is a common drop.
