im a 48 enhancement shaman and whenever im in a tough fight, i throw down healing stream, nature resistance, searing totem, and stoneskin totem. i dont know if these are the best to use, if i am fighting 3 or more mobs i put down fire nova totem. if anyone has some better combos of toems for pve id like to hear them.

nature resistance totem is only usable against mobs that does nature damage, which arent that many. I'd suggest Grace of Air insted.

I find healing stream doesnt make too much of a difference, so I throw down mana spring instead. As the person before me said...Nature Resistance is useless unless your fighting against nature damage, so throw down GoA (and grounding when if their caster) I don't even use a fire totem, I find them not very effective unless I need to AoE. That's just me though, so if you think otherwise searing is the best choice. Stoneskin is only ever usefull against mobs, so only drop that if your taking on 3+ people. Otherwise drop Strength of Earth and your damage will maxamize. Hope this helps :)
Im a level 46 Shaman and i always use... Stength Of Earth, Magma Totem, Mana Soring and Grace or Air
Sky!
I find that GoA and SoE are the best two totems really. Honestly the plus to strength and the +77 agility are a must.
First off healing stream totem heals for almost nothing. Use out of battle if at all. Any other totem is better then that.
If they do nature damage or fire damage then those totems would be good otherwise ignore em. Most mobs do physical , check the combat tab to see what kind of damage they do. Searing and stone skin are pretty good to use all around. That aside most of it depends on the situation, like if i have 4 warriors and me or rogues i'm going to drop windfury totem so they can get the windfury bonus. However if i have 4 druids or people who don't melee (shapeshifted form cannot get WF). I'm going to place tranquil air to keep the aggro away from them so they can concetrate on damage without a guy running to them. Look at what your team needs or could use the most.
If fighting 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 i would go for GoA, SoE, mana spring as this will maxmise your dmg and keep your mana topped up. Only time i change is when im fighting a mob 3+ then ill change the SoE for stoneskin and drop magma totem that way i can lower there dmg output but still increase my crit hit chance.
Like the above post said if your in an instance see what other classes are in your group and adjust what totems you use to better help them.
Healing stream can be very effective in a group environment, especially combined with Stoneskin. Depending on your talents, and levels (increases as you grow) it can provide a +44 health combo every 2 seconds for the whole party without any improvements to the spells (+14 heal & +30 damage reduction) at level 60. Multiply that by 5 party members and you have 220 health every 2 seconds, +6,600 every minnute, both last 2 min so... Combo total of +13,200 hp.
Now of course not everyone in the party will constantly be taking damage so this is a max. But, when you are in big fights in an instance where you do not get a break for mana, it really adds up. Just my 2 cents. If we aren't having a trouble with health, I will do SoE & Mana Spring. To be an effective Shaman, you need to use most/all of your totems, depending on the situation of your party. Be observant and learn how to use your totems in the most effective manner. IE. Drop grounding totem a few seconds before engaging a caster, not right when you see them casting a spell. This way you can earth shock their first spell, let the grounding totem get the second, earth shock the third and drop another grounding totem to get the 4th. Depending on ur talents, you can possibly earth shock the 5th again too. This is just an example of how to boost the effectiveness of a particular totem. Check them all out and you will be on your way to being a pimpin shammy that partys love. Add Comment
