I have been making money by mining and enchanting but the combo don't mix well together.  Here is how I do it, it takes time to establish this system I have but well worth it when you have everything in motion.  I have my main who usually farms for high end items in areas my other alts can't get to, he is a miner and engineer. I have one auctioneer staged by the auction house who sometimes goes out to farm for items when I need it, that alt is a tailor and enchanter but then later changed tailoring to engineering.  I have one alt who is strictly a farmer in a designated area on the map and he travels around in a pattern I set to collect items I know will sell well in auction house, he is a miner and herbilist.  I use the mail system quit a bit but if you have an auctioneer staged by the auction house he just runs back and forth to the mail box and AH to sell.  I also use him to buy and sell to my other Alts in the field when they need items to enhance their skills or just need a better weapon.  Hope it helps, I know it is a lot of work but I've made a ton of gold this way and I still do the samething just out of habit now.

Mining. At a condition it's lvl 375 mining. That's where you start making money. Even if you don't sell bars on ah, you can get a large amount of quick cash by selling thorium bars to a vendor.

I decided to take up mining to make money for my Epic Flying Mount.  Smelting copper and other low-level ores got me to about 100.  Then, I just went around to Arathi Highlands, Southshore, and other easy to farm locations.  Took me about week to get to 375.  The money is amazing though.  Herbalism is also and good choice.  And Enchanting is good if you have alot of crap greens and blues.

Skinning is no matter what, an excellent choice. You'll be fighting many beast throughout WoW each day, so why not? Mining is good at higher lvls, but is slower if your already a higher lvl. Herbalism is another good choice, but don't get Herbalism and Mining, cuz they share the same minimap. enchanting/tailor is another great one, at higher lvl tailoring you can easily disenchant and use the dust to enchant/sell whatever. ATM I have Skinning and Mining and i have to say i really love it. It's ez cash. But I am a druid so things aren't as important to me as other classes, so that depends too. Dunno if this was helpfull or not, but i hope so.

Hands down herbalism/other farming.  Herbalism ups my primal farming rate by at least 40-50%.

heres a good tip DO MINING but, dont turn them into bars, they dont sell as easily

Look, I just have some questions and some answers.
Is skinning profitable? for a gnome rogue?
Is skinning/enchanting a good idea? why/ why not? Whay combo should I use then?

If this sounds noob, it's because I am.

For all of you dudes who get broke at higherlvls, kill guards, they drop plenty of money, and if you enjoy intances, grinding down lower lvl ones help make plenty of money.

When i was level 40 i had my skining up to 300/300 without even trying, it got me enough money for mount 85g in a 2 hour session. I haave no idea how much money i could be making a day but i think i could be making alot! In my server (darksorrow) a stack of 20 thick leather goes (used to go for) 11.5g, so its a very good proff to get money, but if your class allows you to use mail, plate, after 40 then i think you should respec. (money isnt everything).
