I'm a level 15 druid with all of my talent points in Balance. I've been looking at some of these forums and seen that a lot of druids take Feral. Well, I want the Moonkin form which is really awesome, but I need 30 points in Balance to do that. And, I want leader of the pack in Feral. I can't get both and I need some good advice. Oh, and I will not change to the Horde beacause I love Night Elves!!!

i would go with feral till 40, then switch to balance. balance is better, but u level faster in feral

is all about your style. if you like up close melee style, go for feral. if you like casting, go balance.

i've been balance since lvl 10...respecced to feral in mid 40's and didnt like it at all. balance is a little slow to level early on but picks up after 30 or 35. ater that the damage you do gets better and better with each level. if you go balance, i would def spend some t-point in mana reducing or else you'll live up to the hype of the "oomkin" name.

It doesnt really matter what spec you are in the beginning levels.  It starts to matter when you start running the level 70 instances.  I am a 38 balanced druid and i can tank all of the SM's with the help of Str or Agi and Sta gear.  Just spec to what you want to be...healing...ranged...melee.  The beauty of being a druid in the beginning instances is that you can go into any instance and fill in any spot.  All you need is some back-up gear and you are g2g.  The only druids that can't find a group are the stuborn ones that say I only dps, or I only heal.

balance isnt bad in raids its realy awsome, the only problem is that blizzard dont see balancedruids in in 70raidinstances and dont give them any gear, yes its good that they give the balance t4-6 items but, there is 3-4 epics in 7 raidinstances, witch should be improved balance is insane dmg and best class for a raid imo, all the buffs debuffs and auras and spells

why not feral for NE? they have better kitty stealth. the hp bonus for tauren is good for tanks, but after t4, no one wants feral tanks

Don't give balance any gear?  LOL, there is a full set of balance gear available for Badges of Justice (anything designed for both dmg AND healing works for both Moonkins and Trees, though the Moonkin gear often is focused on crit strike/penetration/hit instead of pure +heals).  Like Holy Pallies the Badges rewards are sweet for Balance Druids.  Not to mention the tier sets are designed for all three specs. 

Our guild's feral druid started raiding with us as balance in a mix of Badges, PvP, and T4 gear, and later decided that he'd go feral just because he was bored.  He puts out amazing damage either way, though there are fights that naturally lend themselves to wanting fewer melee in the fight or vice versa.  He is invaluable for his ability to OT and dps.

Well-geared druids can easily compete in damage/healing with the other classes, but you are going to have to be well-geared, which means you can't be lazy about it.  You will need to do your homework and figure out how each piece will affect your performance and enchant appropriately.  A new head piece may make it more desirable to have agility on your bracer instead of atk pwr, for instance.  Threat (to wrist) may make a huge difference in your tanking kit. 

The fun of endgame for most people is gear collecting.  How many pieces with an item lvl over 125 do you have - how about over 150?  Many, many druids wind up switching specs now and again, working on their kits and playing for variety.  With druids this means playing a completely different kind of character (Boomkin, Bear, Kitty, Tree) - something few other classes have the pleasure of doing.  Just use your current, best spec, to get the gear for the spec you would like to try (this works great if your guild has a few raid instances on farm status, so that no one will mind you bidding/rolling on gear for a future respec just to get you to go with the new raiders). 

Rolling a druid means getting to see fights from a completely different vantage point without having to switch toons.  It is a lot of their appeal.  I recommend maxing out your bank slots so you can keep all your moonkin gear in one bag, your tanking set in another, your melee dps in a third, and your healing kit in a fourth. :)

I am a lvl 43 druid with balance talent.  Mookin form is so much fun and when I am in it my armor is in the 3000s.  I agree that when i was a lower level it was hard to lvl, but once you get other the hump it really is good.
I would stick with balance if I were you.

Most ppl dont think it but balance offers a crapload of armor in moonkin (400%) which is the same as bear. Thats the main reason why i like it. Cat form doesnt offer any armor bonus and i do about the same dps as them in moonkin. If you have all leather gear at lvl 70 its easy to get over 10,000 armor in moonkin which is the gift blizz gave us for having alot of heavy aggro spells. If you want to tank then feral is the obvious talent to go but my true opinion on cat form dps is that it sucks.

Imo, balance is extremely boring.. i got tired of mashing the ent roots and wrath so much, plus moonkin is way over rated. All it is is a boost in armor and spell crit, melee isn't that great as a balance. Feral is way more fun and easier to level. with leader of the pack, your crit as a druid usually hits around 40% when properly geared.. no class can match that, and our attack power can be up to 4k, another thing no class can match. So people saying "balance is better", i say to you that its quite the opposite.. i tried balance and ended up quiting my druid for half a year and leveling something else, and i went back to him and switched to feral. I then leveled him to 70 with no bordom, plus i own balance druids so hard. This is based on my personal expirience and opinions.

i am a level 70 restoration druid, i have experience in all specs and know all of the tactics. in my opinion, if you level to 40 as feral, it is really quick, and if you gather spell damage blues and greens on your way to boomkin you we wil good to go :) i found balance was really really fun all the way up to level 58, which is when i went to outland. it was incredibly slow to level so luckily i had been collecting feral gear, so i respecced. being a feral druid from 60-70 is awesome, everyone wants you because you are probably the best type of tank for 5 mans, and it is so easy to get groups for instances. when you hit 70, i advise speccing resto. it is by far the best pvp spec and some of the best arena teams in europe, or even the world, have a resto druid in them. balance is also pretty good but boy is it boring when ur raiding. i have tried every spec in every aspect and my verdict is go resto when ur 70.

I personally leveled my druid as feral until level 60, my friend suggested we could do arena as 2v2 with resto druid and his warlock, so i respecced balance for the similar gear to resto. i had no trouble leveling, i was able to kill things faster and survive more hits, i did have trouble in Nagrand though, so many elementals immune to nature spells. i am resto now, but i have a set of feral gear that i use when soloing. i am 8/11/42, resto in feral gear kills almost as well as feral in feral gear.

Well.... IMO and after seeing a lot of druid movies... Feral wins...I sort of agree that booms are a lil overrated... The only extraordinarily nice thing bout boomkins is the armor... but trust me a well geared ( and i mean VERY well geared) Feral druid in cat form owns ANYTHING.... not only can he heal himself, altho i gotta say only the real good druids know when to do it, but they can also change into bear if fighting meele, and bear still rip complete ass. i've seen bears ripping appart hunters, even warriors.... So yeah... endgame=feral+good gear+skill=GG

Feral is so much better then balance. i went balance at 40 because of moonkin and ended up switchin back in a week. feral is so much better. i can beat a balance hands down and i can do tank or dps in instances. feral can beat almost anyone and at 70 with all the staffs and maces with extra super ap a feral druid can beat anything. they are as good as warriors and rouges as feral. Dont get me wrong, moonkin is ok and the treants are really cool but im a 52 hittin 1000+ every 2 hits. i have super stam makin my druid unstoppable.

it all depends on how u play, seriously tho leveling a druid up to 20 is slower than an uphill snail race at 3 fps, cat is the shit for leveling, nuff said there. But once u get moonkin yeh u can level fine in that form but at 40 it is pretty...ruff. your only gonna have like 3 spells that do damage and you suck big ones. yeh once u get more points into balance and better gear its easier but moonkin limits your role in dungeon groups. Yeh you take the role of casting dps but there are alot of those...and aside from what most people say you cant really off heal and do decent dps, as feral u can both fill in the positions of a tank or a rogue like melee dps that gives u the cower ability to keep your threat down which is pretty essential to dps. And u can both tank and dps with relatively the same gear. atm im a 62 feral tauren drood and have respecced to both balance and resto only to shortly after respec back to feral. Feral is pretty sweet btw, i mean yeh u dont get the cute new forms to satisfy your ADD but bear and cat are more than enough to be an effective and versitile melee.

For now, i will be balance until 50 just to see if summoning those trees are alll that. Then, I will respec to feral to lvl to 70 and do great dmg in instances. Thanks again,:)

I switched from bal. to feral @ lvl 22 and wow..  what a difference.  I was able to lvl up to 25 easily.

I'm not sure if I"ll respec back to bal. when I"m @ 50 for the trees.

For low lvl.. I would definitely recommend feral. the fact that you can speed up by 30% while in cat form while outdoors is soo worth it.  I hate spending all those time slowly runnin around for the quests.. and it sure makes it easier able to outrun when you're in trouble.

I personally have been meleeing with my druid since I do enough casting with my main lock. So feral for me IMO

IMO feral is better than balance for leveleing because you have a very minimal amount of downtime, and with boomkin you have quite a bit of drinking potions, even with innervate, so I just prefer feral, but for pvp balance or resto is much better

I think the way you play is more important then anything.  If your a type of person that plays laid back, pick balance.  With balance you can cast from afar and kill things before the even touch you.  If you like to play more pvp running frantically around then feral, because they have the great hand to hand combat and not many balance spells you can cast while moving.  I am a balance spec druid, but i also cheated  little bit and put some talent points in feral to get the extra armor bonus. makes your moonkin a little more tough.

As many have said above druid or feral depends on what your personal prefrence is.  But for anyone thinking of going balance i sujest that you wait till 40 to go balance just because there really isnt much +spell damage gear before that and at 40 you can go boomkin.  Boomkins do not really get to be great dps till you start into outlands when you can acctually get good spell damage crit and so on.  But really both are great specs for dps.  But if you looking to raid be ready to be asked if you would switch resto since resto druids are best long raid healers.  If you dont get asked great but be prepared for it

here is what you should do, level feral till 60 cause its WAY faster than any other spec and you can solo shit like no tommarow, THEN whenever u get to outland decide what spec u wanna go cause by doing the first few quests there u will basically replace all the gear u have anyway with outland greens. SO if u wanna do it the fastest smartest way possible do what i just said, if not then /stfu

Well, I'm a level 45 (Feral) Druid, and I think feral druids just own.... I recommend anyone who wants to kill fast, and do loads of damage to go Feral. Yes, I know, you people just like Balance... But open up your mind to trying different things and Feral might not seem like the best choice when you start getting up to higher levels. I do agree, Feral is easiest to level... ( In my opinion... )) So try what you want.

everything matters on how u play and how u like it.  feral is for tanking and rogueing and every other up close dmg.  and its not like u can't spellcast when ur feral and cant tank as balance .

im currently lvl 21 and the slowest lvler in the history of games but thats just me.  if anything im lvling fast on him.  but if i went balance i would have to cast them to death and with tiny amounts of mana thats mad hard

K guys, i agree with the statement that its your preference, but this only aplies at 70. It is a fact , and absolute one, that ferals level better. They NEVER run out of mana , which means absolutly no down time. In the long run this could save you huge amounts of gold and time. Ferals can solo almost anything, i solod 3-man quests in outlands with no prob, i could bear grind 6 mobs at a time, and i didn't even carry water with me. Guys, level feral, and if you like balance more, change at 70, but feral will get you to 70 probably faster than any other class.

I specced to Balance at lvl 41, and i haven't regretted that choice!
I rarely lose a pvp fight 1 on 1 at even levels. my first kill was a rogue 5 levels above who attacked me first.
last night i saw a feral druid 1 level below. i waved.
he went invis and i knew an attack was coming, so i started dancing in moonkin form, waiting.
alas, he attacked, at the end of the fight he was dead and i only lost about 50% hp. i didn't get to use my trees either as they were on CD.
and most of the fight was just moonfire, pew pew.
so if you want decent leveling (most creeps are dead before they get to me) and excellent pvp potential, then go for Balance.

Thats right all, all specs in druids talants are best for a druid. Let me fill you in on what I mean, lvls from 1-40 feral - since feral makes lvling more easy and simple just spam claw lol. Lvls 40 - 50 Restro you will get more grps and its more easy to not die, you get wicked heals tho u might want to respec around 48 are so. lvls 50 - 60 balance the reason is balance helps out on quest cause ur wrath spamming does alot more dmg if you do it right. Lvls 60 - 69 feral again cause in outland you will have alot of mobs on you and its really to find a group...but Balance has greater dps then feral since my druid NE did around 560 - 600 dmg with every wrath hit and I had no inturpt and 1.5 csting time it makes killing more easy besides that you get more healing due to the haling affect of dmg gear and your talants in balance. Tho you do alot more dmg per second you do not last long and no one ever likes you since you aggro more then tanking warriors but with balance you can back uo heal and dps so...

anyways When you get to lvl 70 feral, balance, and restro are all your choice since there all OP if well geared.

balance is only boring to people that don't like casters...moonkin might be over rated but thats because it is just that good....at one point i had up to 50% damage resistance (non barkskin) and 25 spell crit rating in doomkin form. I have leveled as balance from level 10 and found no problem with it. and btw....you might own balance but thats probably because you havent fought a good doomkin.

Balance and feral are both good but personally i suggest feral from experience. I dont know about lvl 70 being good for resto but its simple to level to at least 50 as feral: prowl, pounce, gain combo points, finish the enemy, un-shapeshift, mana is full, heal, re-shapeshift, continue. feral druids can level like this faster than rogues because of attack power and easier healing...no need for first aid!!!

Ive been feral since 51 and i thin kferal does hav some advantages over balance but balance rocks in pvp, [MOONFIRE SPAM ROCKS] and also you do notice that yes [oomkin] is hard to deal with but u will get over it but feral's mangle was a letdown for me.For me it was hard to transfer from melee to ranged combat and even tho 400% armor u still suck because without balance of power u cant even handle a lvl 50 dragonkin that uses fireballs at burning steppes.When i was feral i loved killing casters because i could kill them b4 they could cast but moonkin is good for pvp ill say that, if u need a lvl 60 mount and dont hav 600g switch to balance and pvp till u hav enuff marks to buy the mount [they r PIMPIN] jus make sure u try and make sure u hav money for new gear.

Currently i am lvl 66 and i am feral i did lvl 1 lvl as blance but it sucks so hard for lvling you always need to drik water  ores something feral is way easier just kill kill kill then heal for 2 secs and go on. i can kill mobs without them touching me i just pounce shred shred stun wait for eneergie and shred again. so theyb dont even touch me in bear form i can easy pull 5 mobs on me and killl them of quik feral is soooo much better then balance for lvling and its way more fun cause you can lvl up evry day.

imo if you go feral your only doing it because thats what everybody else is going and the only reason feral beats balance is because you can shift out of our roots and half of the time i still beat feral druids ,me being balance, so if you want to have fun in pvp go balance but if you want a lvling spec go feral..
