I have the book to train from Gatson in HH (which is when I get to 300). I need to get to cooking 300. I am stuck at 275. I have been to HH, Shatt and every receipe I find is for cooking 300. I am stuck at 275. Where are receipes and/or a book to train that are for cooks at 275? I need HELP! (it's been 2 weeks of flying around).

In Feathermoon stronghold, you can get some 275 recipes to cook fish. And if you aren't a fisher, you can be like me and keep a watch on the AH to see if the fish ever show up. Occasionally I see a stack of 20 fish for 20-25 G which IMO is way too much money to spend on cooking.
No one else has any comments on this? So, is Feathermoon the only place I can go to get fish receipes? Isn't there any meat receipes (for 275 skill)? This would mean I need to get my fishing skill up...ARGGGHHH!!!
As ileeen said, the best way is to fish from feathermoon for sunscale salmon and nightfin and cook the two recipes you can buy there for them both will still be yellow at 300, if you don't fish you can also get a recipe at feathermoon for tender wolf steaks, and hunt the wolves right there on the island for the meat, these will be green by the time you get to 300 and might take a bit more time to do. If you really don't want to goto feathermoon you can do the clam chowder recipe from steamwheel outside gadgetzan, this is pretty fast since almost every turtle drops a clam shell witht he zesty clam meat, this will also be green by 300 but it will get you there. I hope this helps, good luck. Taj
In addition to above info, once you get to 285 cooking you can get a quest called "Desert Recipe" from the inn keeper at cenarion hold in silithus to cook sandworm meat. You must have cooking 285 though before she will give you the quest (you also have to be like lvl 55 -- not sure exactly). gl
Clam chowder and tender wolf steaks are now grey at 275. The only recipes that offer ANY points between 275 and 285 are some salmon recipe, some lobster recipe, some mightfish recipe (all from Feathermoon) as well as Runn Tum Tuber surprise from Dire Maul, and I was lucky enough to be in a guild run there tonight.
Note that tender wolf steak & monster omlet now go gray at 275! The only way now to up your cooking from 275-300 is by fishing - which really sucks if you're like me and had no intention of developing the skill. It takes about 3 hours to level fishing from 0 to a high enough lvl to fish the fish you need for your cooking, namely darkclaw lobster, raw whitescale salmon and large raw mightfish. Recipes can be purchased at Camp Mojache in Ferelas. Happy fishing...
Thank you all, this was exactly the info I was looking for. Now standing in SW canals grinding fishing, gl and have fun to all those who find they will do likewise :)
The fish receipts only get you to 295 then they are gray.
tender wolf steaks are gray at 275, as are monster omelet and undermine clam chowder. I have not seen any recipes that will allow you to advance beyond 275
One way that hasn't been mentioned is to go into Dire Maul East in Feralas and get the recipe for Runn Tum Tubers from the imp that leads you on a merry chase through the instance. I soloed it as a Level 70 Hunter, but a group of high 50's or low 60's should have no problem with it.
The imp is in the northwest part of the instance, and you will need to grind through some mid-50's elites to get to him. The nice part is, there are pods along the way that give you the tubers you need for the recipe. So, by the time you catch up to him in the east part of the instance (he runs off three or four times when you talk to him), you should have enough tubers to take your cooking to 300. Be prepared, when you talk to him for the last time, he will turn red and summon about a half dozen minions. When he goes down, you just loot him for the recipe and the key for other parts of Dire Maul. Oh, did I mention that there's no fishing involved? ^-^ Happy hunting!
Camp Mojache in Feralas has the recipes that you need to get from 275 to 300.
To get Buzzard bite recipe need to do the following:
See Legassi at the Zepplin Crash site (49,74) in Hellfire Pennisula Step 1 - collect 12 Ravager Eggs at which time he will reward you with 5 Ravager egg omelets (4320 HP +10 stamina x 10 min); Step 2 - Hellboar the other white meat - need to collect 8 purified Helboar meat (need to use purification liquid on tainted meat which works on/off) - he then awards you with 5 Helboar bacon (2148 HP + well fed +20 stamina x 15 min) and finally Step 3: Smooth as butter - collect 12 Buzzard wings - he gives you 5 Buzzard bites and the recipe (lvl 55) (4320 HP + well fed + 20 stamina x 30 min) Then off to Shatt World's End Tavern - see bar maid for Blackened Basilisk and Warp Burger. In Zangarmarsh see Mycah in Sporeggar for Clam Bar and Sporeling Snack (food for your pet) Hope this helps.
at the moment my cooking skill is 275/275. where can i get a book or find a trainer to allow me to get to 300? i am alliance
Probably the most exciting part of 2.4:
Forget the new instances and zone, finally there will be a meat recipe for levelling cooking past 275. Quote from patch notes at worldofwarcraft.com: Cooking
Broiled Bloodfin now increases resistances to all schools of magic instead of increasing Stamina and Spirit. New recipes, Charred Bear Kabobs and Juicy Bear Burgers, can be purchased from either Bale (Horde) or Malygen (Alliance) in Felwood. These recipes requires 250 skill to learn, and are created from meat found on level 48-56 bears. This will aid players in leveling up their cooking skill to 300 without fishing.
ok..on last post these recipes there now? I am in felwood now but dont see anything but monster omolet..btw I dont have cooking but my alt does..guess that dont matter.
no. it's like he said. in patch 2.4 they'll be available
I used lobster stew, cooking darkclaw lobster from 275-300. no fishing necessary, just dive down and grab them up.
The recipes are there now, but they are yellow at 275. In the process of seeing how far they take me.
WOW may say that this bear meat can bring you up to 300, but it can't. I am at 277 and now the items have gone gray. Fishing is the only solution.
