If you have a Horde Character at Level 70 on a certain server and you Level him or her to Level 80 and unlock the Death Knight Class, does it have to be in that same server and Horde? or can he be made in a different server being an Alliance, because i heard that the Death Knight will start off as in the mid 50's.

after u reach a certain lvl and do the required quest for unlocking dk, u can create a dk on all servers and on both factions.

These Death Knights you will be creating WILL belong to a faction, as, if you read carefully, they have broken free of the Liche King's will.

As far as races go, I'm guessing Undead on Horde and Human on Alliance, but it's still up for debate, as that is something I cannot be so certain of.

The last I heard from blizz is that when you complete the death knight quest it lets you make one death knight on the server you did the quest on.  So if you want two you have to do the quest twice on two different 80s. And they haven't put any limitations on race (yet)

Tauren's backstory doesn't fit with DK's at all. They are more wandering spiritualists, if any race limitations are on it I'd go with Orc-Undead (why wouldn't an Undead command other undead?) and Human-Dwarves (playing up the lineage that some DK's are fallen Pallies Dwarves can be the balancer race).

My logic in these is that DK is like a Lock/Warrior hybrid (like Pallies are Priest/War) and orcs, humans, undead are the races that can be locks (toss out BE so that there is a balance of racials on each side) and like I said, toss in Dwarves to fill in the fallen paladin angle (gnome DeathKnight? Plausable, but meh) and keep the sides balanced with two races per faction.

Looking at the history I don't see Tauren or Night Elves (both more naturalistic races) being Death Knights. Draenai as well since they are all against evil and whatnot.

A Death Knight will be a new character you make after doing a series of quests on another character.

Take your Hunter example.

Swedehunt does a chainquest and unlocks the Death Knight character (I imagine there will be a picture greyed out on the create a character screen old school style, maybe with a little lock on it).

Then you go to create a character and their will be your option for a Death Knight which fills a _new_ slot. So you'll hvae Swedehunt and Swededeadknight or whatever.

Hunt doesn't become the death knight.

I think that the Death Knights should be able to be any class. I mean what do you care if someone is a DK, because a DK isnt someone who chooses to be one, the lich king takes over the person by either rising him/her from the dead or taking his/hers soul. So if the Lich King decides to take over a Tauren or Undead it's not like anybody can do anything about it. And also Undead rising undead as an army has happened before we would be like a slave that fights for you like a pet

humans, orcs. are most likly the ONLY race with those classes. but there could be others. and u people gota think about the other races history.

From what i have ead and its not guarenteed so dont take it all in.
Apparently the quest to obtain a dk will start roughtly around lvl 58 maybe higer. The quests that are involved to do this are going to be more or less the same style that you would have done to obtain the epic mount if you are a warlock.
Once that is done you get your dk. It comes with armour etc all you have to do is make it better.
As for the races im guessing they will do it on all races.

Once you unlock dk's on any of ur chars, it will be available for your ACCOUNT. meaning all races, factions, realms, servers. also ANY class can become dk. ANY. Oh ye and its true what one guy said, your neither horde, nor alliance, no matter what race you make. your going to be neutral and be able to talk to both factions, but not be able to go to major cities of ally and horde eg. Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Exodar, Undercity etc. Your major city will be the major city of Northerend, which i forgot the name of. And dk's start at level 52, which is the exact level the death knight quest becomes available to you.
Heres some other info about dk's:

First part of dk quest: Escape from Stratholme!: finish straholme in 45 min or less =P

Last part: kill a blue dragon and rez him with an orb then kill him in skeleton form (i dont know name).

Classes dk's are alike to: frost mages, warriors, warlockz, and shadow priests.

oh ye and i just want to add it says on wotlk forum that when they were talking about pandorin and naga, they didn't mean they will be playable in wotlk. they WONT be on wotlk so tell your town not to start a big rampage and kill blizzard ppl xD and if you dont believe me look at the trailer. it says new proffesion, continent, class, new dances, new hairstyles, new emoticons, siege weapons, destructable buildings, but it doesn't say new races

from my knowledge of wc3 humans have frist dibs on DK, i watched a beta test vid and DK can be a BElf, but sad thing, DK armor is just a rename and recoloring of dreadnought set with restats, but id think dwarves get dibs on DK aswell as undead, they broke free from the scourge and arathas' rule, so they would have deathknights, and id think DK is more of a pala + lock with a bit of shadow priest, i also think Trolls would be a DK as they seem the type more than an orc.

If the Lich King or his minions killes someone and the lich king takes their soul what does it matter what race or class they were they're his minion now.  Then if they break free they're them old selves just with new found, evil powers.  There are more suitable races like humans and dwarves but any race could be one.

You cant be any race with the dk! Anyone who played warcraft should know that arthas was a Paladin. May be palas are the only ones that can be dk??? Explains why blizz put palas on horde too.But i am only guessing here no one knows for sure. And maybe no matter what class race are you once you create your dk horde or allys you cant choose its race maybe is already chosen and i am guessing again its look will be human. Humas=Allys but Arthas was a human and even though he became dk he conserve his his look as a human (kind of) undead,orc,troll,tauren cant be dk i am guessing BE can and on alliance dranei,dwarfs,night elves and gnomes cant only humans ( i am still guessing). If you have seen the trailer, what you can notice there? The Human was a paladin!!!! Paladin has suffer many damage because i dont know why people hate them so much. May paladins are going to be rewarded now with the honor of the only class that can be dk! This a guess only so no hard feelings right? Start lvling a pala in case of you know. So that means Gnome/NE/Orc/UD for the racials.

I would not call a Death Knight a fallen Paladin (or Donkey Kong for that matter).  Arthas was the first Death Knight, corrupted by Frostmourne and slaying his ally Muradin Bronzebeard just before releasing it and weilding it.  Death Knights are necromancic knight, not necessarily a corrupted knight.  You don't necessarily have to be evil to command dark magic.

I think the best comparison to use would be a Shadow Knight from Everquest.  Shadowknights could command the dead, DoT and deal excellent melee damage.  I am hoping the Death Knight will be played similarly.  And I also hope that Horseback combat will be implemented into combat (and yes casters could cast on horseback if their horses are moving while they sit and cast).

That is a silly question.  There is no "Strongest class".  How "strong" a person's character is, depends on how well they know how to play their class.  Therefore, you could technically have a 70 of each class and still suck if you dont know how to play your class.

All races will be able to be a death knight. You die and come back from the dead and break free from the lich king and join you faction

As for the topic, why can't you just roll 2 different ones? One per realm, so just use another realm? Or is it just one per account?

I disagree with the people that say , Night Elf can't be DK. I know is a natural race but why can't change the style of it. The majority of the alliance is Night Elf and everyone knows that. So let's make the players happy and let's make a DK raced NE.

You start off in a specific (Eastern Plaguelands)
You only have to have a toon thats 55+ to create one, so you can make one right off the bat, there is no quest chain.

If anything the races will be Humans and Orcs.  They might let everyone be one though, who knows?  I personally think once you are a death knight, if you take off all your clothes you are just a skeleton.  Makes sense, I mean look at the pictures of Arthas in the background on the Death Knight page on worldofwarcraft.com.  It's a skeleton with long white hair.  I am also pretty sure that you trade-in your character for a death knight.  I heard Warriors who trade-in for Death Knight will be able to dual-wield 2H Weps.  It's called "Titan" supposedly.  IDK tho, just wait and see.
