Ok, so I noticed that Draenei get a +5 to their Jewelcrafting ability, and I'm wondering what possible benefit this might have.  Does the extra five increase the chance of getting rarer gems on a prospect, or is it just a completely useless racial? 

I guess what I'm trying to ask is: does the chance of getting less common gems increase as jewel crafting skill increases?  For example, if you have 300 Jewelcrafting, is there a lower chance of getting a Talasite that if you have 375 Jewelcrafting?

you dont have a better chance of getting a rare gem at 375 than 325. i think the racial +5 would allow you to, lets say, create a level 350 item while only being level 345. i could be wrong though. hope that helps.

Correct. Draenie start out with JC skill of 5.  This allows a lvel 35 character to get a max skill of 305 instead of 300 (as an example), potentially giving them access to recipes that other characters will not have a chance at until lvl 50.  It is also 5 skill points they do not have to lvl. 

So not totally worthless...

you can imagine how much easier is lvlin enchantin whit be racial 10 enchanting :)
