When I first heard of this spawn having the highest chance of dropping an orb I went straight there and waited like 4 hours before Skarr appeared.
I'm a 70 feral druid and I soloed it without much difficulty on the first try and it immediately dropped the orb so I was quite pleased.
Now whenever I don't have anything to do in game I just end up wandering down to to Dire Maul killing it again. I've never seen Mushgog and The Razza seems to be the most common and easiest to kill. I'm just praying it drops me an orb again to solve my money woes for good.
I counted the spawn time at about 8 hours once but then I remember one spawning at least an hour early so 6-8 is accurate. It doesn't spawn exactly on the hour but that's the same with all mob spawns.
