i want to make a healing class and i know alot of people say holy pallys but when i say healing i just mean a class that can heal and kick the living crap out of other classes and i know classes have their weakness aginist others but i made my dicition on druid or shammy so i need help picking.
Thottbot > Forums > Classes > Druid > General > Druid or shaman?
its True i have a lv 16 Pallys and its a great healer and kicks the living crap out of stuff
ok well if you want to be a healer and kick ass and you r going ot pick between shaman or druid hmm... shamans are good at healing and kick major ass with frost shock they also can rez on the other hand you could go druid and be everything i like them both. sleep on it
I've personally only been a druid, but I've partnered through the outlands with a shaman and she kicked butt. Her dps was crazy! But, she ran out of mana quickly and had to drink after every pull of two or three mobs and that was with me dps-ing in cat form and healing her to save her mana. So if you have patience to drink all the time, I suggest Shaman, if not, then druid, I barely ever drink or eat other than in instances.
Oh she also told me that she leveled up to 62 in twelve days!
yeh feral druids have 0 downtime, and at 56 i heal for 1.9k average with 3k hp, (not in bear lol) so when i need a heal one HT will do it, so i never have to stop and with imp leader of the pack its rare i need to heal unless i draw a lot of mobs. which bear form takes over(frenzied regneration also helps with no downtime lol). as for healing and dmg, resto druids still do a lot of dmg because of heal/spell gear, so i personally think druids win, shamans just oom so quick, just my opinion though.
I am a druid and i would say shammys if you want to heal and shit on people also there was a comment on how fast your lvled my char came time when i hit 70 was 15 days so its about the same lvling time
druid boy the kick ass in healin and they make good tanks with their Bear and Dire Bear form.
I think a druid is more valuable as either feral or balance than as resto, therefore I would recommend to you to roll a shaman if you want a healer.
Why? 1. Mana tide benefits 5 people instead of just one from innervate. 2. Liveability - have a shield is a heck of a deal in the event of healer aggro 3. No multi-pull aggro from having to stack HOT's on your tank (if not a pally tank with consecrate going) ((this is tank dependant but has been a problem on multiple occasions, so I am going to mention it)) 4. Ability to Ankh and to rez others 5. Chain heal is invaluable in aoe fights (malacrass, heroic shaffar, etc) Hots can work, but just don't cut it when the aoe is too much from what I have seen. Tranquility CD blows. Arguments for druid: 1. Pretty tough to go oom with 375mp5 and reduced costs of spells in tree form 2. Bad ass arena healers 3. Healing gets boring after a while and you can now pay for a respec and perform any other job well 4. Battle rez/innervate/tranquility (even though it has a CD) Not even going to list the crappy resto aura that tree form brings with it...130ish +healing (with just over 500 spirit) is great and all, but not worth mentioning as an advantage. Can druids be just as good in any setting as a healer, heck yeah. But I think the auxillary abilities of a shammy outweigh those of a druid healer. Would I roll a shammy or a druid now? I think I would still stick with the druid for the diversity of the roles, even though endgame it seems that the gear is pushing us towards going resto once again pre BC style.
well i love druids my fav class
but i saw a sham take kael'thas in MgT from 48%-0% solo when everone eltes died and he never dropped below 3000 mana or 60% life
zomg a druidic shaman would be so OP!!! first u roll a male shaman THEN you roll a female Druid, get them to mate then BAM! u die
I have a 70 druid, and shamans seem great from my experience they heal ridiculous well if not CCed properly in arenas, destroy many in duels as elemental, and offer awesome buffs in groups with good dps as enhancement, but I'm still curious how good is a shaman in arena?
Doesn't Druid have cooldown to revive people?
I don't think Shamen has that limitation though. That would point me towards Shamen if your goal is to be a healer spec
for pvp druid. you wont need to rez in pvp and almost every arena team has a resto druid becasue of the OP hot's.
