Well Enchanting gives the spellpower ring enchants, but I think the real reason enchanting is good is because you can continuously port to the different cities to meet your enchanting customers.
Am I right? :)

tailor/enchant ftw
make lots of gear, lot of it will be sub-standard greens... good for disenchanting for materials to enchant
theres some decent gear, or at least it will hold you over when you realize that a particular piece of gear is quite outdated
