Why should I pay someone else to repair my stuff??? Shouldn't you be able, once you are an artisan blacksmith (level 300+) that you should be able to create your own forge and anvil? Otherwise what kind of professional are you? Healers heal themselves. Alchemists/enchanters/etc make their own potions. So how about it Bliz - let blacksmith repairs their own stuff!

Well we get to make our own gear like alch. gets to make own pots
Doing that would make most people choose blacksmithing since the repair bills really get up there when you are higher levels. The professions are more about creating items, not helping preexisting ones.
I agree with you... it has always been frustrating to me that I can create a weapon, use it in combat, and then not be able to reapir it.
youre absolutely right.... im a blacksmith... but... im going to pay some NPC blacksmith to fix my gear for me? how does that make sense? and a tailer cant fix cloth armor? who fixes it then?? and what about leather armor... shouldnt a leather worker have a fix for that?
Many if not all the the armor type crafting professions end up being virtually useless in the end game. The better armor is only gotten from drops whether normal creatures or dungeons. Of course the best is only from the higher raid groups. Most professions can make one or two pieces for theirself it isn't worth all that time. Crafters should be able to make armor for their self that is equal to what drops or at least close to it. The armor crafting professions are a dead end at present.
I think so as well.
why shouldnt BSers be able to repair for free, Alcamists have a chance to make 5 pots from the mats of 1. Enchanters are usally always making money either enchanting or selling mats that they DE'd to get. Leather workers make those cool leg "enchants" as well as drums of war. Engineers, well we see them flying everywhere and we get stunned by there bombs, lol, and they have repair bots. JCers, i'd like to have a whole faction just for my profesion(sun well quartermaster).
Ok, BSers can make the runes that have a 24% chance on hit to absorb 200 or 400 dmg-lame-and 2000 to 4000 dmg when aplied to a shield-lame-warriors need to get hit to gain rage to gain threat/use abilities. Plus try to sell those runes, HA!, you cant cause nobody wants them. Blacksmithing/Weaponsmithing/Armorsmithing is way out dated and needs improvment, why would i want to waste my efforts, time and perhaps gold on making out dated gear/items?
I totally agree with the comments. Blizzard don't like warriors, and neither blacksmithing. I suggest they rename WoW in World of Magecraft, because all kinds of magic stuff and classes are heavenly overpowered.
So Blizzard do something! This post is faded because it has a negative score.
If blizz wanted to make the blacksmiths able to repair armors of plate and mail, they should consider creating some patch kits of metals and mail that can be mined or purchased.
To work well with other professions and promote a better economy, the bs kits should require something like adamantite or fel iron ore and some fel iron or adamantite bolts from and engineer. A portable forge requiring wood and flint and or a couple of motes of fire would prolly work well to be able to repair during a raid rather than to hearth and resummon back. Tailors should be able to reapir cloth items with cloth armor kits made of different types of cloths and threads, and possibly some different motes for higher level gear. For leatherworkers, obviously some different leathers and hides, some thread, and some motes for the higher level gear. I have found that the endgame guilds dont always have a engineer to put out a bot to repair the raid on the go. And not having an engineer takes out too much time from the ppl that casually raid during specific times when they can get 25 ppl online to get the job done. Having this improvement in wow would save alot of time and allow more ppl to get farther in the endgame content even if its a huge questchain to get to the ability to make these patches. I for one would definately do this questchain even if it had me running every instance in the outlands to finish it.
I think a compromise is needed. BS should be able to repair their stuff at vendors etc. for HALF the cost of non-BS's. That way the BS is not over-powered, yet there is still another reason why we should all grind through the levels.
Or even at 100-200 1/3 off; 200-300 1/2 off; 300+ 2/3 off vendor repairs. This way you would still have a reason to take the trouble to level up BS. Either that or armoursmiths can repair armour, weaponsmiths can repair weapons. That way you still need to pay the vendors, but you still benefit if you have high enough BS skill. We armoursmiths definitely need some loving from Blizz. Repair costs are one way that Blizz combats inflation. They need a way to get money back off us. If BS's repaired all their own gear then inflation could spiral (even more) out of control.
It is true: blacksmiths should be able to repair their own mail/plate armor. If we can make it, shouldnt we be able to fix it? I mean, what is some cloth merchant gonna know about metalworking? But, to make it fair, it would have a 10-30 minute cooldown and only work on one htem, but we still should have it! btw any typos are because im writing this on my Wii >.<
Or maybe even a 48 hr cool down. That way you cant repair every day. Itd save me a lotta money though!
