This may seem like a noob question, but for druids, does the weapon's DPS matter? I know while in caster form it would, but what about in cat or bear? Does it affect the attack power? Also is there any reason to level up my weapon skill?

Not really, no.  Even in caster you won't be doing enough weapon damage for it to matter.  Why beat on things when you could be casting?  This is why staffs are called stat-sticks.

That being said, I always leveled my weapon skill just on principle.

the d.p.s doesnt affect feral druids but everything else does (excluding the speed)

Yah the weapons dps doesnt matter but the weopon speed and skill do. as in while feral if u have a 1/300 wep skill sum1 even with 200/300 wep skill will have a higher crit rate than you

Weapon speed does not matter. All feral cat druids have a dps speed of .5 sec, even if they have the slowest weapon in the game. Even with the .5 sec, we still have the lowest dps output of any melee class.

it doesn't make any difference , but while in doomkin it could be useful to have pretty high wep skill cuz if u are out of mana u gain while hitting with your mace/staff...

Counterweights and Weightstones WILL affect your attacks when shifted, however.

Counterweights do NOT affect attack speed when applied to a weapon in form, but the weightstones DO affect the damage when in form.

Weapon speed or DPS or skill have no impact on Feral attack power, which is automatically rated at full skill.  For example, a level 70 druid may have a skill of 50 in maces or staves, but will have a weapon skill of 350 when in bear/cat form.  This is because the druid is not using a mace,it is using his/her claws and teeth.
Additional stats such as Stam, str and agil do have an affect on character stats.
