I accidently went goblin when i wanted to go gnomish on my hunter. Is there anyway to change to gnome w/o dropping eng?

Unfortunately, you CANNOT switch from Gnomish engineering to Goblin Engineering or vice-versa. I'm not sure how you accidentally do that, because in order to get gnomish engineering, you talk to a gnome, whereas to get goblin engineering, you talk to a goblin. And, if you read the text at all, Overspark TELLS you that you can't switch.

Unfortunately, wrong.  I'm L40 and 300 engineering with goblin spec.  Took this bloke's advice, went to Tanaris and talked to the NPC, looked at the book, and nothing.  No option to either drop goblin or change to gnomish.  I wish you could, but in my experience, you can't.  With every other crafting profession you can in this manner, but not with engineering specialty.

Im a 370 gnomish engineer i was told not to change to goblin less i wanted to re level engineering all over again. I have some random droped patterens learned such as field repare bot 110g, khorium scope, and a couple more. I was confused by the goblin/gnomish engineering i thought one was the other and visa-versa. I would really like to have the rocket launcher because that is one more stun my rogue can have, plus  the damage is nice.

And gnomish SUCKS!! End of story. Ya you get the goggles at 375 that completely sucks compared to the 350 engineering ones. And even more useless since the new patch 2.4 and the 350 onces get a nice upgrade which requires 375. And you get way better trinkets and armor than you can make with gnomish from raiding or pvping

i chose goblin cos apparently here are more bop stuff. gnomish has boe stuff which is good for selling but i can buy if i want one neway.

This is for leatherworking you can change leatherworking there, for 50g

according to the engineering guides, you cannot change no matter what, even if you drop engineering, then re-train and level up again, you will still be whatever you originally took

You can switch from goblin to gnomish or gnomish to goblin.
I talked to a GM about it. He couldn't tell me anythng other than there was a way to switch, and that it had to do with talking to a guy in tanaris.
What you have to do is drop engineering, relevel it. When you can choose between goblin or gnomish you need to go to tanaris and talk to the guy, read the book and all that.  I won't do this because i droped mining for enchanting once i hit 375 engineering to be able to chant my rings.
