i was kicked off warcraft by parents...they thought it was too addicting..but everyone i know is still playing it...what do i do?

Well Start playing some shooters and you will get WoW out of your system.

buy a game card by yourself and continue to play in moderation

Do something every day to pacify your parents. I found out that it takes just an hour to clean the garage, wash the car, mow the yard, or vacuum or some crap like that. It always makes my mom happy and then I can play WOW as much as I want to. I always do homework as soon as I get home and then some sort of work to make mom happy. Takes a couple hours then they dont mess with me.
They never cry as long as you are doing somehting to help out.

If you think playing WOW means you have no life, what does it mean if you spend time bothering to read forums about it when you (presumably) don't even play it???

Most people I know who play WOW (myself included) continue to play it despite doing loads of other things too - I only met 1 person who played it because his wife (who played too) was disabled and they were unable to get out of the house much or work and who would be cruel enough  to tell them to 'get a life'?

To the boy who posed the original question - maybe you could do a deal with your parents regarding time spent on WOW - and make sure you keep to it?  Wouldn't personally go down the 'deception' route but it seems there are plenty who would!!

hand the account details to them and they can fix it so you get an allowance of time play a day.

I agree the deception routes not a great idea just give them your account details and let them set up parental controls on it, did it with my dad using the line

" look dad i could of played WoW behind your back for as long as i wanted,but respect you to much do that, WoW is an important part of my life and if you think i'm spending to much time on it im more than willing to let you set up parental controls 2 govern my play time"

It worked a treat he came up with a tariff system so for every hour spent doing housework being sociable with family etc was worth 2 hours playtime, doesn't sound great but after a month he brought me a mac and set up wifi and took of the parental controls on my account. All i had to do was continue the routine we had established. Hope that helps.

Being a dad I like the above idea having them understand the parental controls, and implement them is good middle ground, their concerns that WOW is computer crack (trust me I have the shakes right now) are addressed and you still get to play some.

And for all the behind their back sorts good thing I would not catch you, let me list out the possibilities.

Change all passwords to where only I can log into a box
Pull the hard drive
epoxy network ports
extract computer and insert manual type writer and a bottle of white out.
Removal of all entertainment technology computers, consoles, tv, etc.

Come to me with a mature option I'll listen, act like a baby and get spanked.

My parents think the same thing. My dads a computer whizz and he has used netgear to block the ports at certain times Ie before 6pm and after 10pm weekdays and whatever times on the weekend. and since im out and about working during the week(8:30am-4:30pm-get home at 6pm) and friday nights - saturday nights im out partying, or with my girlfriend it doesnt realllly effect me that badly, and they know they are doin somthing about it. What shits me with it though is that netgear port blocking isnt exactly reliable(sometimes doesnt kick me until 10:30 - and i get no warning when it will kick me so i cant hit up an inn etc..

just arrange a certain time schedule with parents to play it.. and dont go all crazy 12 yr old I NEED TO PLAY YOU MUTHER-----S RAAAAAHHHGHH ETC.... cuz then they will just say thats it im deleting it, and your going to WOWAnoymous lol

just talk to them about it you will work somthing out

heY :) i AM A daD AND EVEN i FIND IT VERY ADDICTING. tRY TO FOCUS ON HELP AROUND THE HOUSE A BIT AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE KEEP YOUR GRADES UP. Try to limit a bit your time spent on a pc ..you need to have friends. Everyone thats starts out their goal is to reach 70. Well, just enjoy the gameplay a bit and have fun. Remember even if you dont play for hours your char will still be there. Hope this helps andd btw dont try to sneak, it makes things worst.:)
