Hey I am a blood elf hunter and I have a springpaw stalker as a pet and I am skinning as my profession. when my pet helps me kill the beast and then i skin it sometimes i get ruined leather. Is that because my pet ruins the leather when he attacks it or is that normal?? just wondering.

No, it is normal.  When you first start to skin you get a lot of 'scraps' as the animals you can skin are too low level to give you light leather. 

Once you are skinning higher level creatures you will get higher level leather :)  If my 375 skinner skins a level 4 critter she will get "Ruined Leather Scraps".  A leatherworker can combine those to make light leather, so they are worth trying to sell on the AH. 

Your pet is completely innocent :)

yea the lower the lvl beast the lower the lether you will git the higher the lvl the better lether :P

This is the lowest level of leather. As an inexperienced Skinner, or because you can only kill the rabbits outside of Stormwind, you have ruined a piece of Light leather and now you have a scrap. If you are a Leatherworker, you can learn to make one piece of light leather from three pieces of Scrap.

Take heart when you get your level above 300 and think you are really good,then you will once again be a Noob getting Knothide leather scraps.
