Okay, so orginally I've been leveling my hunter to 70 and have finally reached the point at end game where its just boring. So I have decided to make a priest because my guild is in dire need of healers. So far I've lvled a BE priest to 16 solo(just for now, going to group up with my guildies who have lvl 20 alts) and have five points in holy, maxed improved renew and healing focus. And two free points left over. What I'm wondering is if it would be smart to add some points into disc (and if so how far) or just push all the way through holy? Any help or tips are awesome. =]

Roll a different healing class is advice # 1.  Priests are great but tend to get *squished* but healing aggro, and once you have 1 holy priest (w/ spirit buff) extra priests don't have any buffs to offer.  Shaman or pally imo, can't ever have enough of that awesome buffing (well > 5 pallies gets ridiculous but until then...).  Druids are good too... and are super easy to lvl (feral), but offer limited raid buffs in the presence of any other druid.

I say heal as shadow spec until outlands.  If you still don't like that then lvl disc.... just not holy... hurts too much for solo kills.

um...okay don't listen to the person who is telling you to re-roll.  if you want to be a holy priest, then by all means, be a holy priest.

i leveled my priest from 1-64 holy, and am now shadow for end game...but as i found it, leveling holy is extremely easy.  just quest for a while, and if you ever get sick of it, look for an instance to run - you won't have much trouble finding one =P

as far as talents go, you're probably going to want to put some points into discipline.  improved wands is a very good thing to have, since your wand can often times save your life.  you'll also want improved fortitude to get the maximum stamina you can.  martyrdom is also great for ANY priest to have, as it allows 30% of your mana regen to continue while casting

plus, if you get sick of healing later on, you can make yourself a kick ass shadow priest =D

I was somewhat joking about the reroll... though if you don't have 3 active pallies in your guild and you guys intend to raid then I'm not joking... (kings, wis/might, salv/light). 3 buffs are money in 25-mans.

Finding pre-BC instances on my server is laughable so the idea of "finding a group" or better yet "finding a COMPETENT group" in pre-BC instances usually leads to frustation then a lvl 70 coming in and destroying everything (YAY for 100% complete SM runs in 20 min using a 70 afflic lock!).

If your server is fruitful (high population) then it shouldn't be an issue.  Know that with 2.3 you don't have to do any instances to get to outlands, without grinding mobs even!  Just quest and done!

martydom does not allow30 percent of mana to regen.
instead it gives you 100 percent fre of interruption while casting.
