I would say either undead or blood elf....then u got the trolls then the orcs. But thats just in my opinion. Some people say that trolls r # 1 or blood elfs are but i personally like the undeads passives and specs. What do u think?

yeah ima troll and on a 5 combo dedly throw im critting at like 2950 atm,so when a mage has blunk away and thinking,that frost freeze is gonna allow me to cast the nuts outta this rogue,i simply dedly throw and with the bleeds and the ranged its somewhat fulfilling :},yet undead attracts me also,the passives are kinda interesting,but since ima troll and too lazy to make an unded,i say troll lol,have fun!!

twinkian ,i believe you are correct,yet the mace stunlock thing is kinda boring in itself,i suspect you may win alot of your fights,whether it be pvp/pve how ever stun locks annoy me, and im a rogue ,i prefer few lock techniques and more dmg,hence subs,but not to disagree,good reply btw :}

everyone says shadowmeld for a rogue is a waste.....its so not true.

and the title should be "What race is the ultimate rogue?"

NE = dodge and meld meld is useless on a rogue near enough.
so not true there are may times when i have had my stealth on cooldown and needed shadowmeld for those precious seconds.
just because you havent found the value in a certain racial doesnt mean its useless.......

anyway its a FANTASY game why bother plating as a boring old human .......;)
HORDE: undead or blood elf
ALLIANCE: night elf or 'maybe' gnomes.

NE's have improved stealth as racial.....

im a dwarf rogue, i know nothing really too good about them i just like the dwarfs and i think they are the coolest class, so i rolled dwarf. Its a game you pay to play, so have fun and play a class you want to dont worry about whos the best....

everything ends up evening out at 70... the only thing that i judge on are racials, go UD, or NE for the agility.

Lil bastages gnomes ..they are so small they are hard to detect, I see alot of them... . Night elves ? Hey! I guess but if they are such great rogues you would probly see more of them..Trolls hmmm yeah alot of people like them..Undead YES many people use the undead and many believe they are the best...Blood elves are the best looking thats why i like them..Humans ?? no, rare to see a human rogue many people think they are the worst

What a shame Night Elves (becoz of tha stats) are in the Alliance...

i like the nelf dodge and stealth bonus racials + a small bit of nature resistance helps

i'm undead and mostly combat and i use strength not agility and up to lvl 54 ive beaten rogues higher then me including them having the jump on me so wtf am i just good at pvp or is strength better? or atleast for now, this isnt bs but think what u want.

undeads rule! and humans are boring, as if you would bye a full on fantasy based game with orcs, tauren night elves and stuff just to be a human! however good u reakon they may be there the ones that are boring.

On Alliance Side: Humans, Perception is amazing, my rogue always gets unstealthed just because there is a human rogue in vicinity and he ambushes me. Their mace racial is good too, along with the increased spirit, and most importantly, their faction gain bonus. that equals more reputation gained with the Battlegrounds Factions.

On Horde: I'd have to say Undead, because thats what i play, and surely i played my friends BE rogue, mine is so much better, WoTF is amazing (immunity to Sleep, FEAR and Charm), they also get 10 shadow resistance so they are the ultimate against that one annoying lock/shadow priest thats spamming CoA/Corr./SWP on you while youre fighting a tank or something. Cannibalize also comes in handy when youre low on food or you've been recently bandaged since you can just eat the corpse you just killed. Underwater Breathing is useless in WSG but can be implemented for example in AB. Woah that was a lot.

Anways, Undead and Humans(in my opinion) probably have the best racials that are actually good even at higher lvls. Undead is one of the best choices for race when deciding on a warrior.

ud are the best you lvl alot faster. I have had a human rogue and it sux my ud is right now lvl 23. lvled 5 time in the past 2 days!!! but its up to you...

i roll a bloodelf...they are alright, probably not the best, but i've got used to their short comings... AOE silence comes in handy, especially in HMgt. I know its only a couple of seconds, but those coulpe of seconds can turn a sure wipe into something survivable

y do people keep saying that ud class is boring? I personally love ud. I love to eat the bodies of the alliance.... I think that with ud they seem to me to lvl alot faster than any other race. I have played all of them. And I am sticking with my ud. I have a lvl 61 human lock and wish i would have made him ud...

Undead in one of the best races for rogues. Think about it. Will of the Forsaken baby! Its like an extra trinket. PWNS against warlocks/priests! As an undead rogue i usually have 2 ways to defend myself if i get feared. Will of the Forsaken and insignia. And another cool things is..Will of the Forsaken doesn't even have a long cooldown. Its super useful.

I think alot of people are posting on this thread from a biased standpoint - claiming that the race they personally like best, or the race that THEIR rogue is, is in fact the best rogue...

Of course which race is BEST for our class is debatable, but I am an undead rogue, and IMO when it comes to PVP, humans make the best rogues period. I'm horde till I die, and wouldn't roll a human but I totally feel they are superior. 9 times out of 10 they get the jump on me for the opener - and getting the opener can damn near spell defeat with rogue vs. rogue.

As an undead rogue, I can say that if you roll horde, my race is IMO the best choice by a SLIGHT margin. Having the freebie trinket slot that is WOTF is very convenient and can get you out of some tight jams. However I think that Orcs are under rated rogues. Their racial resistance to stuns is nothing to take for granted. Opening a Cheap Shot just to see "resist" and then scrambling to build combo points to pop a Kidney Shot to see "resist" again will make you want to cry. Plus, burning your Blood Fury right before your large bursts can give a nice bonus to your attacks.

Summing up the question -

Humans - #1
Undead - #2 (just barely)
Orcs - #3

I would have to say COMBAT is my personal fave.  I see all races have advantages (except NE b/c they are annoying to me) but I do enjoy a BORING ass human.  I believe that the reason to buy a fantasy game and choose a human would prolly be so that you place yourself in the char's shoes and place yourself in a fantasy game killing things you could never kill IRL.

But that being said I prefer combat (the question was class not race).  I think combat is more useful for a wide range of purposes.  I do arena, bg, instances, raids, and solo quests.  So I am not ever completely at a disadvantage.

BTW I am just picking on the NE.  They do have some advantages I just refuse to see them because I can't see past the gay little jump and retarded ears.

I'll disregard the spelling, but for future reference, spelling things right when you're asking a question makes the responder feel that you give half a rat's ass.

horde side:

pve dps:
the troll takes first place, they have a pretty hefty attack speed increase.
orcs come in second, bloodfury is more of a burst damage ability.
followed by undead and blood elves, who dont really have dps oriented racials.

pvp:
the undead's will of the forsaken is a very very useful tool in fights versus casters- it breaks mind control, charm, fear, sleep- its pretty much an extra trinket on a seperate cooldown; and it lands undead the first place spot for pvp viability.

orcs come in second, bloodfury can add a chunk of dmg on an eviscerate, but when in an arena with a healer, it may lead to your death due to reduced heals recieved. the reduced chance to be stunned is also a huge plus.

blood elves fall into third. the blood elves have a silence that could stop a heal when the energy isnt available for a quick kick, and the free energy bar helps for occasional burst damage.

the troll's racial would help a combat maces (pvp) rogue more, and is overall the least useful in pvp.



alliance side:

pve dps:
humans are the best race for rogues on the alliance side from a dps standpoint. increased expertise with swords allows the rogue to put points elsewhere while still hitting the cap.

after that, none of the other rogue-possible alliance races really have dps oriented racials.

pvp:
gnomes have escape artist- a powerful anti-kite ability, which puts them in first place for pvp viability.

now, humans and dwarves both have racials that in a pvp situation, are pretty much anti-rogue.

a dwarf's stoneform is useful in more situations than the human's perception, putting dwarves in second, and humans in third for pvp viability.

night elves have an increase to their stealth level, which is of disputable value. overall, its the least useful in pvp, because most classes have pretty effective methods to pull rogues out of stealth, regardless of their stealth level. it may help to get a first shot in, but with shadowstep, thats not really hard, regardless of stealth level.


with all that said, i'll add that i have two level 70 rogues- an undead and a human, so this is hopefully minimally biased.
