Why is there no way to find a place to increase your lock picking skills..

any advise anyone???

talk to your rogue trainer, he will tell u where to lvl

If you go to Rachet, there's chests by the ship wrecks you can use to practice lock picking to raise your skill.

OK I have a 35 Rogue who's LPing is 168.  For lvl 1-100 you can go to RR just NE there is a building with a bunch of spiders around there.  5 chests there that will get your lvl to 100 fast.  Then also in RR in the Lake near the town a bunch of chest under water that took my skill to 120 before boxes turned green.  Then you move on to Menethil harbor.  In the Murloc area there are a bunch of chests that took my skill to 160+ before boxes turned green.  That is were I am stuck and have no clue were to go!!

For higher locks to pick, make sure that you pickpocket every humanoid you come across.  For instance since your LP is 160 you must be around level 32-34.  At that level you can go into stranglethorn and in the north pickpocket from kurzen's camp, get lockboxes, open them and up your skill.  Also the trolls will give lockboxes as well.  Every level that you move up gives you five more levles of lockpicking, so everytime you ding, you know you need to lockpick at least 5 locked boxes.

whats is RR and NE?

I'm assuming Red Ridge Mountaines (RR) and North East (NE)

I currently have a LP skill of 100. I was reading on the forum and everybody said to do the chest that were in the middle of the Lake in RR. I have been working on them for 1/2 hour now and my skill has not gone up. The lock boxes are green. What do I do now? I went to M.H where the murlocs are and when I try to open those boxes it says that my skill is not high enough. Now what?!

You know the quest by Fizzule where you get your poisons.Go there and at the top of the tower there is a single box that respawns as soon as you loot it.Pick over and over til like 170 I think.The chest does poison you,however a nice Shaman can remove the poison.There is an elite that is at the top so have a friend available depending on your level.Respawn rate on the elite is quite a long time.

Well, I haven't started my poisons yet, so where do I find this Fizzule at?

I am a rogue and my LP is 196 now...i have hard time finding anything that can get my skill up to 225...any advice where i can find humanoid that have high lockbox please? thank you.

For 190+ lockpicking you should pickpocket 39,40 lvl humanoids.
Rogue trainer used to give me some good locations too when i was skilling up LP.

For higher lvl lockpicking u can also go to the area around Sunken Temple in the swamp of sorrows, also under water around there and get ur picking up to 260+  past there  I am still looking.

Leveling up ur lock picking will take alot of ur time, You first ask the rogue trainer were a good place would be and of course find and go there, when u get there u keep opening the chests till they turn gray, i remember spending 2.5 hours just trying to get 20 lvls, it takes a long time, as for if after u feel that u've opened a million boxes, im sorry u still have to open a million more to get the lvl.

After it turns gray then u go back to ur rogue trainer, any rogue trainer, and they will normaly tell u the next place...

...After you get ur lockpicking over 225 check the messages at the major cities, there are always people asking to have there boxes opened, and sometimes if ur nice, you could get a tip, woohoo, im in the money...

Once u get to level 50 upwards and your lockpicking is approaching the 250 level, starting being a little thief and pickpocket anything u can u will be getting boxes to open that boost you lockpicking skills no end i did this from 250 i am now maxed out on 310
lvl 62 rogue n rising

I am a 44 rogue... And for the last 3 days i have been leveling my lockpicking because I fogot to... Im at 161 and im stuck. I have picked every picket up to my level. Once i hit level 175 im golden because i have a ton of thoes boxes but the other ones between 160-175 are few and far between. Can anyone shoot me in the right direction. I would like to get maxed out today if at all possible.

My lockpicking is at 163, I need to got it to 175 but I can't find anywhere to do it, please help

where is best place to lockpick at lvl 100 for Horde?

i am maxed out a 80/80 when I lvl up does it go to a higher max out?

yes you need to lvl to up your LP

cool thnx I talked to my rogue trainer in UC and he says to go ti hillsbrad to lvl up. I will be going there soon. Will I be attacked? since i am horde?

Just want to add something that is sort of obvious but may not occur to everyone reading your post when pickpocketing for box's if you've already maxed lock picking  for that lvl bank at least 5 box's that way as soon as you lvl you can max it out again  then if your doing something where mobs cant be pp you won't have to waste time deliberately looking for some     

I just leveled from 160 to 200 in Angor Fortress in the badlands near ulda and the chests are still yellow

im not sure what level it starts, i think around 160 or 175, but you can level lockpicking in decolace, around 37,21 right off the coast near the naga. 

i found this elsewhere on thottbot but its very workable and i thought i would post it where people can have an easier time finding it!

Skill 0-125, go to Redridge and train in the mill to the north east of Lakeshire. No mobs will interupt with your work.

Skill 125-150, get some waterbreathing potions, and swim in the sea in in Redrigde, opening the boxes there. (I'm not 100% sure it's possible to get all the way up to 150 this way, but I belive so). Beware of the level 25 elite Lashers even if they are to easy to be called elites.

Skill 150-190, Go to Desolace, open boxes on the bottom of the ocean, north-west of Sar'theris.
The easier boxes are on ground waters around the shores/cliffs, while there are harder ones on deeper water. Kinda tricky to find and level 38 mobs are swimming around this place and you might have to kill a few. It's possible to gain more skills than 190 here, but I found it easier to train in Badlands so I didn't.

Skill 190-270, Go visit Angor Fortress in Badlands. There's lots of level 39 mobs, and a level 42 elite elemental you will have to kill, while I trained here I think I killed him about 10-20 times, which was rather simple on level 26.

Skill 270-300, Go to the south eastern corner of Eastern Plaguelands, to a place called Tyr's Hand.
This place swarms of level 55-60 elite mobs, so you shouldn't go here alone unless you've got a epicset. The boxes are very few and has above 2 hours of spawntime. Also remember to pickpocket all the mobs for heavy junkboxes, they improve your skill just as good as the lockboxes.

Another alternative for skill 270-300 is going to BRD, there's like 7-10 doors you can pickpocket around there. BRD is far easier than Tar's Hand, and you can complete a few nice quests while your there too, the full MC-Pre quest, and a few arts of Onyxia pre-quest, for example.

Keep in mind that you should save the heavy junkboxes and turn them in to Ravenholt. 5 boxes equals 50 reputation.

160-260 took about 2-3 hours to complete, becouse the boxes in Angor Fortress had to respawn, after that it gets far worse. Good luck people.

im 230 now i just found i can run back between the two gates at stonewrought pass and its been lvling me a few points if you give it enough time between passes

I spent the past 4 hours in Tyr's Hand in the Eastern Plaguelands leveling from 252 to 300. Some boxes were easy to get to, others not. You should remain stealthed at all times while here. I finally resorted to getting my 70 S1 geared lock and wiping the mobs near the lockboxes and then logging in my rogue to get the lockboxes. Sure made life simpler than sapping 1 and fighting 1 or two more and hoping your done before the sap wears off. I'm happy to say that I am now 300/300 (lvl 60). I can still go to Tyr's hand because the lockboxes are still yellow to me, or i could go to Zangarmarsh from here.

i recommend Dark Leather Gloves search em up they ad 5 Lp skill they get u through lvl gaps.

How do you get your trainer to tell you where to go for higher lock picking skills?

When you speak to your trainer you have 3 options. Learn new skills, unlearn talent points and suggest lockpicking locations. You need option 3

By the way thanks for the levelling guide posted earlier. I'm currently at level 150 and rising. I can confirm that you can get your lockpicking skill up to 150 in Lakeshire. Infact I got from level 122 to 150 in around 40 minutes

For some reason I don't get option 3 for Lockpicking locations.

I am at lvl 60, and I'm max'ed out at 300/300, How do I raise my max to 375??

the answer to the above post is easy,just lvl your character to 61 and your lockpicking will go up by 5pts and will do everytime you lvl up so at lvl 60 its 300 at lvl 61 it will be 305. hope this helps m8.

need some help im a undead rogue and im at 225 LP and cant improve it i have been to the trainer and he was no help any suggestions?
