What is the point of having a twink? When I was a newbie, I use to think that getting the honor and Marks of Honor could actually benefit your main, but really, all twinks do are suck money out of your main, because they need better gear, and better enchants, and blah blah blah. Is there really a point to them, besides having fun killing noobs, because I don't think crushing the feelings of who could be a small child is all that enjoyable.

And if I see that making a twink might be worth-while, then what should I be, because I have been owned by rogues and hunters a lot, but shamans and warlocks are okay too.

Because at level 70, there is always going to be better gear, and the gear cap will always be raised each expansion. Not so with twinks.

Also, and this is very important, there is a gear cap, and no  resilience. NO resilience (perhaps from enchants, I don't know).

Twinks don't care about wasting money, they want to have fun. And by the way it does take loads of money; thats why I can't be bothered to make one.

anyways i have recently made a 19 rogue twink and its great for when i get bored on main, and know i dont think about them being small childs ....i think about them as being Alliance.....if you can afford to make a twink then i advise it

Thats why people make twinks - they like this song. To  be high, they get to 19,29 .etc, and to be like diamonds, they enchant their weapons with glowy auras.

I agree with Redriot, i dont have a twink and yes they made me frustrated when questing and bg-ing. However, those are folks that have not only already played their losses through fighting twinks. They have also earned their twink by making their main and banking in gold and who are looking to take advantage of PVP servers which is to pwn the other race.  Hence Player Vs. Player.  Let me know when a competitive game likes to not improve their gaming abilities and chances to win and come above competition by impoving their gear and game play by taking advantage of resources that they have.

Why I made my first twink...

My first 70 was a resto druid.  We were raiding Kara every week, but were having a hard time getting enough geared people on to move beyond that.  My druid was exalted with Sha'tar/Violet Eye/Scryers/Lower City/Cenarion.  I had my epic flight form.  I had all the gear I wanted from badges of justice and another 200 badges rotting in my bank.  I had a Kara/badges off-set for days when I wanted to go balance - fully enchanted.  ZA didn't exist yet.  I was bored. 

A friend of mine was bored too.  We talked about leveling a duo together - something to do since even doing heroics was boring now (once you can zerg Heroic Shattered Halls with no cc and only one dpser, repeat visits lose their appeal).  I decided to roll a holy priest to play with his fury warrior. 

LOL, 29 twink holy priest - I got a lot of WTF's on that. But she often earned twice as much honor as my friends' toons.

Gearing her up was a LOT of fun.  Had to clear Gnomer several times on our 70's to run her down to farm for the acid walkers, sparing her the xp.  Got 22 int put on her sleepwalker staff.  Golden spellthread for her silver-thread pants.  I just bought the starfaller wand.  Farmed for the plains ring,  the Queen's Jewel, the Stygian Bone Amulet, and the Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator (which I hid both because it is hideous and because it was more fun if they never saw it coming, lol).  The research and execution was a lot of fun.  It opened a part of the game that I had not experienced while leveling my main because I did not have the game knowledge, gold, and friends that I did while outfitting my priest. 

Our warr/priest duo turned into a foursome with a resto shammy and a hunter.  It was an interesting combination.  The warrior and the shaman got very very good at handing off the flag, letting the warrior (with my priest alongside) pick up the flag and pass it to the ghost dog once we got outside. 

I eventually decided to level her once we had all rolled new chars, looking for different challenges and I figured if I was going to slug through Kara once a week it might as well be on a different toon.  The appeal of twinking for me was that it was a new kind of group experience, since I only ever played her in bgs with my friends.  I had enough honor/marks amassed to get her some nice upgrades once she dinged 39/40 - stuff that she carried well into her fifties. 

I still have two twinks - toons made more for the joy of outfitting them than for the joy of bging with them (one at 49, one at 39).  Some people do it for the love of winning, others because they hate to die.  I twinked because I love to group and I love to collect clothes. :p  I really was never too much into the "ZOMG, I pwned him!" mentality so much as the comraderie of it, the group tactics.  It is the raider in me, I suppose. 

*shrug*  That's why I twinked. :)

Hell of it. Honestly, it's not that hard, my main's a 37 mage. 'Spose I was sick being on the butt-end of death =P. Basically, I got runs through Wailing Caverns on my hunter for gear. Took a couple of months, but it was free. With gear alone I'd top some bg's, averaging around 10,000 damage. I Then got some extra health and minor movement speed increase, that set me back 40g. I then worked on Clefthide Leg Armour, that set me back a further 60g. Without finishing all of my enchants, I average 26,000 damage/battleground, on my trial run with Killa Beez I topped the damage.

So how does a level 37 fund a twink? Well, approximately 60g came from my level ten tailoring alt, another 40g from my main. My only regret? I need to save another 80g in 3 levels for my mount =P. Other than that, I'd advise a twink to everyone. I mean, c'mon, us horde need a few more =P.

Oh, and can anyone tell me how to buff my head/shoulders? I know I can get +100 health to head somehow, just have no idea what I need, or if it will work with my 150 eng goggles...Meh =P.

You can get shoulder enchants from reputation vendors in Shattrath, maybe thats what you're seeing.

The shoulder enchants are Aldor/Scryer reputation rewards, that you buy with tokens. At low levels, I don't think you can get it.

I think the head is Lower City, or something.

The shoulder inscriptions bind the target gear to the person putting the inscription on the item and the inscription is soulbound.  So you cannot use that to benefit a low-level twink.

+100 health head enchant is a series of quests that starts at a Blood elf in the northern Burning Steeps (don't remember the name of the encampment, but there is a horde fp there).  He wants you to collect a Libram of Constitution and several other things, in exchange for a gem-like device that you can apply to a BoE headpiece and send to your alt.  My priest had it on her Enchanter's Cowl until I got that crazy shooting hat from gnomer for her.  You can put that enchant on a Blood Elf Bandit Mask if you have not yet gotten a lucky fishing hat for your 19 twink.
