I roll an alliance lock. ok so to my understanding in your (all warlocks suck) argument mages and priest can get better protection gear then cloth at higher levels?

do explain that one to me, so I am to understand that mages and priests get chain and plate armor later on, and dumb old stupid locks only get cloth the entire game.

you do not understand what a lock is used for first of all.  if you are expecting great PvP toons, your lock is not the first choice, but hey in your infinite wisdom and knowledge you don't need me to point that out, you already know everything and just happen to realize this mistake while playing your lock.

a good lock player specializes in affliction, keeps the enemy at distance and dots them to death.  thats the bread and butter of a pvp lock, if you can handle that challenge then pick another class like a rogue/warrior or druid that knocks players down with melee.

My lock is destruction spec'd so as a clothy I get killed from a good druid or rogue in 3-4 shots. close range hand to hand and I am toast.  My lock is a Big Gun in raids and boss fights in a party, its what my lock is built to do.

do you see me crying about how locks suck when I get killed? no not at all, and that is the difference between you and me.

I know what a lock's job is used for and do it well, you piss and moan when you get owned which also sounds like you suck at pvp in the first place expecting your lock to be a great pvp toon in the first place, lol yeah.

what you can do is go to a Care-Bear server and remained unflagged on your toon so the casual noob who is 3-4 levels under you won't completely own you no matter what toon you are rolling.

locks do not suck, you just have no idea what they are build for and how to effectively use one.

just go roll a warrior and hope you get a good healer to save you, really you'll need it.

If you lose to all those classes as a warlock, you really do suck, learn to play the class, all you should lose to is Hunters and Rouges, and people who severely outgear you.

Lowest stamina in the game goes to mage's hands down.  I have a 70 lock, unbuffed with 5 pieces of epic gear from PvP I'm at 10,279 HP and have a little over 8k mana.  Once I get my full epic gear I'll have close to 13k total HP.  One of my friends that plays alerady has this.  13k HP and about 11k mana.  Warlocks own in PvP...unless it's against a maced rogue..lol  Stunlock is a pain.

lol.. you have no idea what your saying. If you tough out those levels in which a lock gets owned by everything, you'll eventually return the favor. Locks are so overpowered, on my druid, i gank this lock, stun for as long as i can... Then he DEATHCOILS, fear, dot dot dot dot, fear, drain life, im dead and hes at full health. Another occasion a lock didn't even use fear, he just dotted and spammed drain life on me, and i couldn't kill him fast enough. Nothing scares me more than a full s3 lock running at me with 13-14k health and 1200+ spell damage and 450+ resil, that just dots you up nice and good, then your screwed. Now there are levels in which your lock will suck versus anything, and you'll die very often, you just need to play through it. If you choose to level a different toon, you'll be sorry when you hit 70 and get owned by lock afer lock.

Warlocks definitely do NOT suck.  i just hit 69 today, and am very happy with the work ive put into it.  Why you would lose to thing 3-4 levels below you is beyond me.  At lvl 61, ive killed lvl 69s trying to gank me.  at lvl 66-67, i killed this spriest and feral druid that kept trying to kill everyone in nagrand, one on one. i will say that locks do have a harder time in the beginning, but they get exponentially better as you level them.  Then again, You cant just get a freebie class thats going to automatically kill everything for you.  Each class takes a certain amount of skill to fulfill.  what i suggest to you is either, 1. dont complain about a class unless you have reasons to back it up other than whining or 2. level your damn lock up and discover the beauty that makes the warlock so good.

errr ya once a MS warrior gets death wish and then thats when warlocks fall to warriors...but other than that warlocks manhandle druids +rouges Spriets give us a hard time but nothing we cant handle and hunters..THEY can be beat but it takes pure luck..also..mages were cloth 2 dumbass

Dude, you have gotta be kidding, im currently a lvl 52 warlock with felguard and it fricken own everyone. So I put up a test me verse my lvl 60 hunter friend with all my friends buffs and mine and his.

First i started off with felhunter got rid of all his buffs. Then stunned him summon felguard intercepted stunned him again got back up felguard used anguish while i cast soul fire then cast vooly of shadow blots he died.

I only lost hlaf my 5k health from his pet!



So altogether man warlocks do not suck the freakin own!

Alright, so my lock is only level 37 but I absolutely love my choice of class.  Yeah I know, I don't have all the experience that some of the other posters have but I love playing a warlock.  I've done ok in PvP so far but it gets better all the time.  It isn't easy (it would get boring fast if it was) but come on, warlocks have too many nice toys to say they suck.  Oh and from my experience so far is that cloth, leather, mail, it makes no diff because your aren't supposed to let them hit you anyway.

The comments here are like saying a certain car is great because it has nice-looking cup holders, or something.

If u can honestly say warlocks suck...i ask u to challenge some to duels...DINNERS SERVED...ur ass on a platter...biiiitoch

Well as everyone said it, you're a dumbass. I am a lvl 70, and my 3v3 team kicks ass. Hunters are easy prey, Rogues can be spotted quickly with the right pet, any caster is toast with my mana puppy, and well us locks have the absolute highest dmg output potential. So, before bashing a class, try not to be very bad at it, and look a little closer.

I have to agree, I am a 54 lock and PVP i've been told from pallys and mages that we are the hardest to kill if played right. I suggest learn more about the game and the potential of each char. before launching stupid comments.

My twink 28 BE lock has taken warriors, hunters, and rogues on SEVERAL occasions. and I'm not even a high lvl!

i have a rogue as a traveling buddy, and he has yet to be able to beat me in a duel, which happens every time we lvl.

the damage that locks can do with their mana is INSANE.

of course, they can suck at early lvls if its your first time twinking as a lock or you don't know what you're doing.

a lock, paired with chanting and tailoring as profs is arguably the best character in the game to play, for reasons completely unnecessary to mention.

and who needs great stamina or health when you have your own personal tank. my void walker is my safety blankie! he takes 99% of the hate so i almost never have to worry about getting attacked. you just have to be careful not to take on too many mobs by yourself.

Ok, lets all be fair. Yes we flame this guy (and rightly so) for making the blanket statement that warlocks suck. However if played/speced/geared wrong, a warlock would suck.

I think one of the biggest problems... are these forums. People are innundated with tons of info on our class (and yes I said our, because a warlock has allways, and will allways be, my favorite class) that anyone would have a hard time. Lets break it down to basics shall we?

1st. The first mistake people make is thinking that classes are ment to be ballanced. If this were the case Blizzard would be able to do nothing es but update WoW because there would only be 9 classes. (Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Paladin, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Shaman). As it is there are litteraly hundreds of classes (i.e. "Resto" Shamans, "Frost" Mages, "Retadins", etc.). Each of these classes take time and pratice to learn.

2nd. Playing the wrong class. Let's face it, not everyone is going to match up to every class. I personally don't like playing Druids. Is there anything wrong with Druids? No. Are they a fun class to play? I'm sure they are. However for me, I just can't get into it. The same goes for specs in a class. I may hate the downtime that comes from a "Destro" warlock, but I happen to LOVE playing an "Affliction" warlock. Is one answer right or wrong? NO, just a matter of personal preferance.

3rd. Expecting the wrong things, from the wrong class. If I want to be a tank, I sould not be a mage. I think we all would agree that generally this is a fair statement. Now while there may be some gear/spec combo that would allow a mage to tank, it's not what the class was designed to do, and therefore will be difficult to do, to say the least.

4th. Expecting the wrong thing, from the right class. There are far too many warlocks out there who have had their head filled with the idea that they are as strong as mages, when it comes to casting, and as solo-able as hunters, when it comes to PvE. Now while each of these statements CAN be true in and of themselves, they are rarely that way together.

5th. Trying to raid PvP, or PvE in a battleground. This falls under the same heading as #4, but I thought it could use more of an explanation. ALL classes optimize differently for PvE than they do for PvP. Without exception, end of story. Anyone who tells you differently either has no idea how to play their class, or has no idea how to play their class and doesn't know it yet. Now can a well geared PvP specced toon do wll in PvE, obviously, because you remove the human element. Can  well geared PvE toon do well in a PvP setting? Obviously, but only to a point.

Now this list could go on forever, however I think I've made my point: knowing which class to pick, and then how to gear and spec said class goes A LONG WAY in determining how enjoyable your gaming experience will be. So to quote "Indiana Jones; and the Holy Crusade", "You must choose... wisely."

people look at the warlock and say that class is the best in the game the cheapest in the game the list gose on but warlock is just a diffrent class. there is nothing wrong with the class. warlock is huge offence with debateable deffence. even with low health we can finsh off a player with a large chunk of health left fear is what replaces our armor witch is why we have it. our pets can help us in pve but a 40+ destro or afflic will have enought damage output to attract arrogo. people start a warlock thinking they could master it in minutes. they think when the roll a warlock they can go out and do anything but warlocks just have a diffrent style of fighting. even when we do take damage we can heal useing drain life if low on mana life tap and more. warlocks are not over powered. the reason warlocks are so powerful is because a warlock has to work strings properly. i think warlock is one of the best classes in the gaame my main is a warlock on the realm stormscale his name is warriorquinn

wtf is with all these bad comments they are jsut a different class they will all have thier weaknesses and strenths walocks happen to own with dots and fear,pallys are kinda ment some hitting and dealing the damage from being hit, mages do derit damage but dont ahve many or any dots and rouges jsut do a heap of meele damage as i said everyone has thier weaknesses jsut rember that when ur playing

dudes....55 lock here just sayin that even now i deal top or second damage in BGs for overall damage. and this i my main, we just deal too much damage to be considered bad in any way. even if i die (and i do, alot, ill give that to you) but even if i die, im takin 3, 4 hordies down with me every time. get 3 instant DOTs in em all and then fear em away. pick one, death coil and have my pet on another. go down swingin with direct damage, and i can get several peeps to die by the time i res. i consistently deal 30k more damage than the next peep. twink hunters are the only chars that deal more damage than i do. so stop your bitchin and show some respect. and no one is even talking about how needed locks are in dungeon situations. as long as a lock can manage aggro, we're dealin the most damage to every  beastie in the area. throw our tank minion on a boss and as long as someone (including ourself) can keep the pet alive, were gonna be fine. soul stone the healer, and even if we get caught we're gonna be fine. so like i said: show some respect.

i have a warlock i like my lock but they have a lot of problems
1: there epic mount is near impossible to get these days nobody wants to go to diremaul or any of the lower instances unless you pay them some insane amount of gold.

2: unless you have payed some gold farmed site it takes forever to get gold for good armor and the items for the epic mount quest among others.

3:they dont do enough damage short term unless they have felguard 
to kill anything.

4:ROGUES ARE OVERPOWERED I HATE ROGUES I TRIED TO PLAY 1 AND FOUND OUT I COULD KILL OTHERS LEVELS HIGHER THAN ME. THIS IS NOT RIGHT! i can barely kill anyone my level with my lock.

Ok for the ppl that think that Warlocks SUCK then get the fck out of this forum and make one and lvl him to at least 49.

They kick ass in BG and i have personally killed every class except for a pally due to the judgements they constantly hit me with and there ability to use a bubble.

Hunters are easy to kill you just have to know how to play ur lock. Even though they wear cloth the pet makes up for it and the abilities that are gained by a FG really increase stamina.

So if u say locks suck go lvl one up and learn how to play it so u urself can actually experience there greatness!!

I will say this --LOCKS SUCK --I hate them so bad I actually started a toon of my own --just to see why my geared out hunter had such a hard time killing the damn things --You know what?  I love my lock... I am still learning to use him but damn --at lvl 25 I can take out lvl 29s without breathing hard.. This class is so powerful makes me wonder when blizz is gonna gank em......

locks are awesome i beat a lvl40 warror and im a lvl30 lol

in demonology warlock is by far easiest class to play at lvl 70 the only class that will give you probs is the stunn rgs and that is if they hit you first, to win get death call on em intercept with pet dot and life drain till they die, in many arenas have killed 2 rgs at same time while hunter partner was dead20/41 will own all classes in pvp if played right.  of course their are exceptions. if you can get out of stun lock rgs can be easily owned.  in destro spec you havent a chance against a rg, or at least i dont but in 20/41 you should own all.

Warlocks are good for farming....I can pull mobs for 2 hours straight (well, forever, actually) without ever stopping once to drink or eat.

Makes farming primals very easy.

so fear the war, and DoT the shit outa the healer, sicking your pet on him as well.

People don't understand how awesome fear and howl of terror are till it saves their life like 5 times in a row in BG's

i cant really say much about locks considering mine is only 34. but if you get owned by mages and preists you obviously have incredibly terrible gear or have no ide a what you are doing. i have no problem beating mages whatsoever. and actualy the only class a lock is truly weak to are hunters. but that goes for almost all casters.


and another thing, warlocks arent the only class theat are restricted to cloth. that also applies to preists and mages.

warlocks, as stated be4 arent great pvp'ers as you so bluntly stated. if want to go own evry1 in bg's make a hunter and go laugh in the face of all the casters you beat so easily, but thats besides the point warlocks CAN pvp but they just arent the best. they do great against warrirors and pally's they are very helpful in instances becuz of there strong pets and doT's.

it is apparent that you dont know what you are doing.so now hat we've covered that, go home and make a hunter like i told you to do earlier, or if you like you can continue playing on the lock you hate, moan and whine about it some more, then you might realize that locks do NOT suck and start actualy doing well in pvp and start writing good reviews about locks

Wow, you really need to learn how to play as a Lock whomever started this silly warlocks suck tantrem.  Saying locks suck is like saying that Chuck Norris's roundhouse kick sucks, you dont even need to know how to use the Roundhouse kick to Pwn.

Wow whoever started this thread needs to learn how to use/understand a Lock. When I was a affliction lock I think I was around lvl 40 and the Mage in my guild was a lvl 44 we battled eachother and I kicked her ass 2 times.Once was with my pet and the other was without the pet. And besides i didnt have that good of gear. But I knew how to play my lock so there ya have it. I guess some people just need to learn how to use their char. plz stop saying that locks suck if you rly think they suck that much try getting to a lvl higher than 12 before you start talking crap about them.

It really does matter if the Class fits your personality. I don't think I could play a Rogue. Not my style(plus after being ganked by 3-4 Rogue Twinks in the BGs on numerous occasions I kinda hate them).

Die a lot? Yes.
Take baddies with you? Yes.
Cloth armor suck? Not as bad as you think.

I have no problem dying in the battlegrounds...cause while waiting to rez I see HK:SCOUT....HK:Sergeant...HK:SCOUT...

I'm only level 42 but love my Gnome Lock...I am Destruction spec'd...I may change that though...
The only thing I don't like about locks is that I can't give any good buffs to comrades...I mean come on - detect lesser invisibility and breathe underwater for 10 minutes? How is that supposed to compare to +120 armor and regain 50 mana ever 5 secs and the like. I know that isn't what we are for but...
Although, DOTing and fearing enemies that are creaming my buddies does make up for it.
