It's confirmed that DKs will start out somewhere between level 50-70. This means, that you'll have this new character, but he'll start at level 50 (this is going with the minimum). However, having a new character at level 50 seems annoying.
Why? Think about professions. Think where most people are in them at 50. Think about money. Think about how most people are financially at level 50, and than think about how annoying that would be to get starting without a single copper. I don't think blizz would force you to mail cash to your DK just to get him started. I think, personally, there's a lot better stuff to do with your time. I would imagine bilzz would realise this, and fix it up a bit.
As you're escaping Stratholme, or doing whatever the starting zone for Death Knights is, there'll be a quest to ransack a tower used by the Lich King for defenses. When you get to the top, there's a huge chest with some gold in it. However, this would makes problems with people just making an assload of DKs and taking all the starting cash. An alternative would just be to make DK starting stuff really really cheap.
Also, people were normal whatever their races were before they became DKs. This means they were likely to know professions. There could be a part where you and some of your DK escapees are in a camp, and reached the salvation of other escaped DKs after getting out of the starting zone. One of the elderly mage type guys could ask you to try and remember your old profession. You pick one, and he'll give you a tome that gives you an automatic 300 in one skill. This may sound OP, but remember the other skill is still at 1 by default...
This is just something I was thinking of. Unfortunatly, there's no way to give you 50 levels of knowing how to play your class good. But hell, we have Thottbot for things like that.
