People keep saying that the most effective way to beat a pally is to purge their seals. That's true, but if you rely on that too much then a ret pally will be major trouble, because all the ones I've known have taken Sanctified Seals, granting them un-purge-able seals. Not to mention they can hit you like a mac truck while you're stunned. And no ret pally worth his salt will let you heal while he's bubbled, let's not forgot they've got a 6 second sleep spell in addition to HoJ. Just throwing out tactics I've used as a pally against shamans.
