Ive got one to lvl 9 (low, i know) but i already like it alot. but im tore between my rogu e and shammy so...are they very good. there doesnt seem to be many and ive seen people say they're bad. so for my first char would it be good, or should i go rogue?

DPS output, rogue and elemental shammy are probably close

PVP rogue hands down

PVE Shamans are more versatile

my main's a priest and thought i'd see what a shammy's like...i made her and have ignored her for a few months now (eeks)...

so i go to start her up again and for the totems, i was going to do the "fire nova" totem to see what it did, but i did not have the needed "fire totem"....is this a reagent or am i missing something? any help would be appreciated :)

i should add that she's a lowbie 14.  *sigh*

You need to do a quest to get Fire Totem, once u get the totem, u need to have it in your bag always, (same with others, earth, water and air) cause u cant cast any totem if your missing the one in your bag.

note : dps output, enhc sham can outdo a rogue if he's geared the right way...im not saying its always that way, but these guys tend to top the dmg meters provided they can hold out threat and aggro...
not all that hard u might say with a 30% redn from spirit weps and hopefully a salvation blessing from a pally in ur group but they can usurp it all and still gain aggro :P (voice of experience...)
so, yea, thats an extremely fun build to play and lvl

im a touron shaman and i cant find where i go to get earth totem quest.

I dont know about that. I have lvl 14 shammy and I solo better than most rogues that I have incountered.

The Shaman's biggest problem is that they have no way to shed threat.  Rogues Vanish, Hunter's Faint, Priest's Fade, Pally's BOP, Mage Ice Block and Lock's Sacrafice.  Shaman's have nothing other than trinkets or that worthless Traq totem that doesn't really help.  If you are Soloing big groups Rogue 5 or more NPC's if you are going up against 3 Shaman's hands down.
