I happen to have a leatherworking skill that is 92 and i have a skinning skill of 126 fopr a lvl 23 night elf hunter! I dont think this is normal and i need skins that are close to no price or free to up my LW skill so i can wear armor that i make! I also need to start making some easy gold...if someone could reply to this i would greatly appreciate it! thank you!

if you need leather, skin more things and don't worry if your skinning skill is too high.  that can't be a bad thing

If you want to start making gold fast switch now to another gathering profession,cause you can then sell your skins and say you take mining sell the ores.Whereas in LW you use your skins and leatherworking doesnt really make you money until you hit Outlands for the most part.In many instances the mats used to make 1 LW item would have sold for more than the finished product.LW has its benefits and money-making abilities later on in the game.

But i need gold from skinning things and killing stuff...whats a good place to go for killing things for a lvl 24 night elf hunter...also i need either a bow or gun...which one?

You need to be patient. The game is about having fun afterall. Just play and work your professions like most of us do. You'll make money later. You just started. This game never ends what's the rush?

buy some light leather from  the auction house them make stuf till ure leather working skil is till 100 then learn how to make medium armor kits  and the make those till lvl 115 and then just buy new patterns and make them and then by 140 u will be able to do wut u wish

He said he wanted to make money not spend it.The materials would sell more than the finished product at that level he clearly wants a money-maker only,where he should get another gathering skill.Leatherworking takes dedication and hard-work its not for everyone.The biggest benefit is the epic gear you can make at 375,which for elemental is the primalstrike set(BOP)The money is in the high-end armor kits that you have to get mad rep. to buy which isnt until Outlands.In LW you get out of it what you put into it.

well when you kill a beast it usually says "skinable" in the bottom left of the screen...if its highlitghted in grey then you should get "crap" leather for your low leatherworking. Also you don't seem to have a significant gap between your skills...just do what you normally do and eventually your LW skill will catch up.

Where should you go to make money?Well let me think,oh yeah you want money go 1.)Questing 2.)Farming 3.)Learn how to work the AH.You have a PROFESSION (LW) they COST MONEY to level them.No get rich quick schemes here,take a chill pill,go farm for a few hours,buy new patterns,and fight only beasts and skin them.

i am a lvl 16 war on trollbane... BS/MIN and ive made 2g already.... LW isnt going to make you money at low lvls... at 24 you need to quest, and spend money on BIG bags so you can carry mega loot.. or join a rp server and make your job a beggar... i made 5s last month lol

most ppl dont spend money at that lvl to up the exp lvl of their profession.  At a 94 lw skill, just go farm the heck out of auberdine if ur alliance, or silverpine forest if ur horde for the mats u need.  save ur money to buy better gear that u dont need to make, and use the mats u farm to up ur lw.  you could start running the low lvl instances... stockades alliance, forget the horde one for gear and loots.  The dif between gun and bow are nothing, just get the faster one with the better dps.  I took my hunter to menth harbor at 24 with lw/skinning and made a bundle sellin the skins i farmed off the crocs/raptors and just bought gear... till i was geared up then lvled up my lw.

what do you guys mean by go farming how do u farm?

Farming is when you kill mob(monsters) for what they give you when they die, in your case they give you leather. If you need lower lv leather kill lower lv mobs.

And to waderman, you might also want to consider being nicer to people on the forms that are only trying to help you. If you can't figure something out and you don't want to wait for a response in a form google it, thats how I learned most of what I know about WOW.   

i had the same thing happen. its not that big of a deal. by the time you can make anything worth using your skinning should be high enough to get what you need. assuming you skin everything that has skin.the comment about the bags is true especially for LW

I am A lvl 153 lw ond a lvl 219 skinner that is how it is. But to make "easy gold" make things that you get patterns for from drops or things that you don't learn from ur trainer. The trainers also have some useful patterns that you learn. I have made alot of gold selling the black leather tunic and the hillman's shoulders. I put them on the ah and put the buyout at almost 5g!!! People want these things but not always. So be patience.
