Anyone have problems with others demanding certain amounts of food/water or a table. Im constantly getting bugged for them. Some people just open trade and tell me to make them stuff, and then complain because im taking too long. What should I do?

You are not required to make food and water for people. Those who just open trade with you and demand it, I say walk away from them and ignore them. In groups, yeah, it is kind of expected if you're the only mage, but your group should still say thanks!

Mages are not vending machines.

I've never had this problem, but if people did just randomly walk up to me asking for ffod and water, I would charge them more than their NOOB asses could pay in five years of play! ;)

I've only been asked for water when in group instances and always have been thanked for it. Rudeness such as your saying should be handled by closing their trade window without giving them anything.

well everyone wants somthing from me, i only give people food and water if they ask nicely
if they dont ask nicely or just open up a trade window or complain that i took too long, i dont care how bad they need it, its not a mage's duty to give everyone food/water
in a party its expected of you and i always do it, even ask them if they need more, just trying to be a good party memeber

of course newbs dont just bug me for just water, they bug me to run them through instances, for gold, for food, water, intellect buffs, portals to shatt, etc

I have a mage friend who I believe from reading about the refreshment table, should be able to make it at her level of 68.  I am a priest and do not know much about mage's and their abilities to conjure food/water.  I would greatly appreciate help in learning when a mage gets this ability as it would greatly help our group in instances and it would be valuable information for my mage friend.

By the way, as a priest, I greatly appreciate the mage's ability to conjure food and their willingness to offer it to everyone in the group.  Having a mage in a group is a great asset.  I would like to thank all of you for all you do.  You are awesome!

I think it is easier if the players just trade me for foods and water, becoasue if they just ask me for food/water, I don't know where he is,It's not eazy to find in AV at started.Before I found him the bg is already begin.
But if you are not in AV or in raid, It's nicely to ask them first.

for ANYONE who just opens a trade window (or throws up a duel flag) on me and/or demands anything, i tell them promptly where they can shove it.  after that, they usually leave me alone, but there are many who don't/won't take no for an answer.  those people eventually get ignored since i don't think there is anything else or official that you can do with them.

Trade window opens just say "10g a stack and its yours" either the 10g shows up in trade window and you can give them a stack of food/water, or they will go pester another mage. I still have a low level mage, but always at the end of my game time, I will find a mana user and give them my water as I am logging, and find a melee class and give them my remaining food. It is going to disappear anyways, and can really make someone elses grinding easier.

If someone is rude to me while asking for food/water...I make them the lvl 5 stuff. xD

If someone comes up to me and just opens a trade window asking/demanding for food/water, I either tell them Im out of mats(lol)or I tell them Im not specced for it and then walk away.  LOLOLOl

It's even more fun if they demand food / water from you to give them a 20 stack of the Rank 1 food /water. Here ya go! LOL

hey its a short order cook in the caffee *ding* "yes how may i help you" says the mage, "give me food and water" the shaman replies, *mage goes off for a minute then makes some food and comes back*"heres your food shaman", then the shaman replies "WTF is this lvl 1 food and water?!! god your the worst fucking cook ive ever met"*shaman casts frostshock attempting to kill the mage but the mage is too smart and puts up improved frostward just in time and the shaman's frostshock leads to his own demise*

I came up with a plan...i charge them!!!!
Often they walk away and call me names but sum N()()B acctully payed 50s for 20 bottles of water,and 70s for food. sure its crap money for a lvl 70 but who cares!!!
i gained muny for being a vendor lol.its a great life :)

Sometimes,if some N()()BS/N00BS come up 2 me and demand for water,i make water at like lvl 65s use,well,that i use then i give it 2 them knowing they cannot use it :P

I do one of two things...

Primarily i start summoning a food table, then tell them i need 3 ppl, if they bring me 3 ppl, i drop the table, then tell them, im not in their group.

Otherwize, i babble on about something keep them distracted while a cast a portal/teleport(depends if im with a buddy or not, if im with a buddy, i do a portal, so we both leave the place) typically i do a TB or shatt, TB due to lack of beggars, Shatt due to LOWER(not nonexistant) number of beggars.

Though, when i log on, i ask over general chat for two people to help me summon a table, 64+ min so then i can say im not entirely a jerk.

As a lvl 70 priest, some time ago I met a noob mage (lvl 10 or something), who tried to sell me food and water. Yes, he just opened my trade window and was upset when I refused his offer :P.

Apparently he never noticed that the stuff just dissapears when logging off. And yes: not only noobs beg for food from mages, but there also are some noob mages out there. What a dull world it would be without those noobs eh... :-).

Hmmm.... I've never experienced this problem either. If I'm in a group with people I will get asked quite often which is fine. But I haven't experienced random people bugging me when I pass them by.

i'ma mage , but on my non mage alts i've asked random mages i've come accross for water, though i always send a tell asking " hey their would you mind summoning me some food and water please? i'd really appreciate it but if its to much effort its all good" theirs nothing wrong with asking for food n water... if you do it politly , i'd gladly summon anyone stacks n stacks of food n water for a long grind if they ask me nicely rude people can gtfo and buy thier own

ima nice mage i guess haha, i give out food and water all day if they need it.. no ones been rude and i always keep my party memebers and guildies refreshed... ill always run around and give intel. buffs but they never "over do it" you know? soo i beleave if you be cool but not too cool with it then its all good... my prob. lately has been ninjas!! just the other day with my 20 mage iw as only cloth wearer running sfk and a damn hunter needed the robe, feline sholders, and belt!!!! wtf is up with all these ninjas!? it pisses me off soo bad haha ne ways, sry guys just venting lol

Yeah, that's what pisses me off. Warriors rolling need on BoP cloth robes, staves, and priests and mages rolling need on BoP mail. Next time it happens, I think Im just gonna run the other way when that player attracts aggro and let them die.

one time someone accused me of being a ninja when i was in another room. gnomes dont look alike.. maybe IDK but it suxs cos once in kara another hunter kept stuffing up and everyone spammed me. sometimes when they ninja i jus dont attack, and feign death.
