heyas!
i just thought we'd open this thread to follow up the patch changes for the shaman, mainly affecting the enhancement shaman...
both the other talent specs have some really cool moves up their sleeves...like ele with the overload and elem mastery...
and resto get ES and great healing buffs...
i kno enhc aren really all that bad, but arent we kind of left behind?
as in mana regen with attacks is such a lame talent...that too the FINAL one RIGHT down a WHOLE TREE...
ok, 30% dmg redn is ok...but cmon, wouldn we have done better with some good AP or crittin buff for a short time?

This post is faded because it has a negative score.

I think you are forgetting Stormstrike, which is great for instances. Unleashed Rage can be good for groups but I have to agree that Shamanastic Rage is a bit of a let down at the end. Still...I think Enhancement still has the most dmg output out of all three specs, and we get dual weild XD

yep, SS is great agreed...but ok, think about it.
SS, then the 20% boost...to nature which will def get flicked by a druid or rog, so in an instance unless u hit the ES button right after SS, that is lost...and generally enhc likes to wait for focussed casting to pop bfore shocking...but well overall its still a sweet attack SS...
but the rage is what is very disappointing...i mean after FORTY points down the tree...a mana boost and dmg redn??
sheesh almost EVERY other class tree i kno including the otehr 2 of ours have sweet 41st talents... >>.<<

That talent (Shamanistic Rage) was added because back before the Burning Crusade came out, enhancement was, more or less, a joke when it came to PvE dps. You either went resto, or made do in resto-ish gear with elemental. Thus, many of the talents went a rework in order to better enhance our dps in PvE, however this did cause quite a PvP setback (insta-gib = dead). It simply breaks down to the fact that blizzard tried to make the game more balanced and fair, and in regards they did it, and in some they did not.

wht he said was they corrected our flaws in pve but we are still lacking in the pvp department. the prob is if you gie us defense against the other classes cc then the shammy becomes a beast. so it is my opinion that we will remain a jack of all trades and a master of none, which is great for pve, not so great for pvp.

i think that spending an extra 5 talent points in getting an extra 10% ap after crits is pretty lame too. until you get some kick ass gear it really doesnt change anything. i would rather have something as awesome as the ele tree gets.

yea. totally. like say that lightning overload thing.
u could make one like that for us.
unleashed rage is a great party buff.
but ok, replace our 41st talent to:

gives u a 20% chance of mutilating (rog assasination or combat tree final talent) the target for like the next 1 minute and a 3 min CD on that. i guess a small bonus dmg like a 50 or so that scales a lil with lvl would be great!
ye gods, the mana thing is depressing.
now with mana shield, who wants mana regen??

this is depressing. and yea, i chked again, EVERY tree's 41st TP is brilliant, 'cept ours...

Hmmmm.....

Crit and get 30% increase swing speed.... 2.6 weapon goes to 1.82... pretty much gives you a free swing for every 2 regular swings you get.

You crit and the whole party gets increase 10% attack power... with 3-5 people receiving this you can almost have an extra 1/2 attacker just from this talent.

For the end point... to get a 30% reduction in damage taken. Sounds good to me, I like to use this in instances when mana is getting low, but mana almost never runs out when you have water shield up and mana totem down - together they give 20 mana/sec and with shock spells at 6 sec then you have received 120 mana regen from those plus with 6 sec between attacks you will have a little regen from spirit alone.

Shamans are very powerful if used right, but they biggest bonus is that they can buff the whole group. A shaman is the most powerful from the group buffing that they do. You drop a SoE totem for 98 Strength, but you pay 150+g for potency for 20 Strength.... really that totem is worth a savings of 600+g and it buffs the whole group.

You have to remember that you want to do group things because your real strength is with the buffs that help the whole group.

i completely agree with u, exavious, but u must realise, that tho the group and all that does matter a LOT, in the BG, we suck balls?
we need something to save our salt??
now the dmg redn thing has gone down to 15 secs only with the 2.4 (YES, YET ANOTHER NERF)...
so, wth? cut us some slack damnit...
every other class easily gets the better of us.
so we have no strengths is it?
well, that wasn how the game was created to begin with.
k, the shaman wasn jaw dropping but, he was...OK. and then nerf after nerf after nerf...good god, let him stand a chance!!

Dudes Resto shammies USED to be the most overpowered class in the game dont forget that, We were the best....

BUT blizzard, nerf after nerf have brought us to our knee's but the fact that you are moaning about enhancement being crap in bg's is stupid enhancement isnt rly a pvp talent i though it was a lvlin spec and that elemental was the spec for dmg in bg's and i am right if you want to top dmg in bg's elemental.

However ele sucks in arena and isnt too good for lvlin if you dont have full glad (for the pushback buff).

And shamanistic rage aint that bad but if you are pvp'in as enancement you should'nt have it anyway cause you should get natures swiftness anyhow.

To conclude I THINK (plz dont give me abuse) Resto is the best spec for bg's and arena and maybe pve just cause your wanted more and you can change a bg single handedly.

Shamanson, Jenadar, Resto

Pvp shaman is best by far for pve especially if you like grinding and doing dailies. the enhance shaman in pvp can be effective if rolled properly, there will be no 5k crits, but i find that i am very high on the dps when the bg is over and can deliver quick burst of damage as well as any class which is great for taking out a enemy before he can heal or finish his target off. pve we all know enhance shaman still rocks and can grind with the best on them when farming for mats, do dailies, assisting a guild member , grind for rep or whatever, they are like the energizer bunny(they keep going and going), in instances  we can provide pop , decent back up healing , boost to all members dps via wf totem and strength totem. only thing we lack is cc.

we lack survival skills and and great crits cause if we had either we would be monsters of the bg. Anyone who has evr rolled one know they are the most versatile and fun to play.

Um... when I use SS I instantly use earth shock or else I cant get 2 of them in... why the hell would I wait?

Also if your agility is any good and you have DW you will almost always have focused casting when you use it

I really don't know what all the crying is about. My Enh shammy is almost always in the top 5 in AV on Damage. Does having S3 gear make a diff? I find 1 on 1 I can't be beat except by a rouge. Problem is 1 on 1 is very rare.

one of the best things for enchancement shammys is earthshock. instant casted spell interupt and high damamge with a 6sec cooldown like all the others! perfect for pvp!! thats how i help my team out, FS and ES to disrupt all teh clothies and ele shammys or whatever. very VERY good spell - IF BLIZZARD TOUCHES THE SHOCKS AT ALL I WILL STAB THEM! unless they decrease the cooldown, then i shall kiss their feet
