as a 70 lock raiding is possibly biggest thing to do now. i need personal opinions from others, what spec u guys use. i am speced for crit crit crit. im doing bout 5.5 6k crit on SB. my build is 0/40/21. im wondering for all u afflic locks if that is good in raids. cuz in beginging i was afflic then i respeced to my current spec (crit) and i had a 30% increase in dps. but this spec is hard for pvp. no dots. :(. tell em what you guys think. affflic or demo/dest????

Aff is the best damage dealer to raids but not as good as destro for pvp

Until you can get some t5 and approach the hit cap (16%) without gimping SD/crit too much (>1k/>20%).  At which point 0/21/40 is the highest dps.

0/40/21 will not out dps either afflic (41/0/20) or succy seduce/shadow&flame (0/21/40), and is not a raid viable spec unless you are using it to tank leo in SSC.

i am a level 70 warlock and i have been told by my guild that i should do more dammage than a tank. I cant figure out how i use shadow bolt a lot with the curse of shadow add to boot  am i missing something i fire of fire and shadow fury on large groups works well if you got a great argo tank. help me

And how in hell are you doing less damage than your tank? Even my Felguard can do more damage than the tank, just by autoattacking.(not that you're FG, of course, but still)

Step 1 - Press P, click the skull on the right (affliction), click the Left/Right buttons until you find a blue-grayish symbol. Make sure it has the largest number next to it (3, I think).

Step 2 - Drag it down to your bar. We will call this Curse of Shadows ,or CoS for short.

Step 3 - With P still open, click the tab that says Destruction. Find (like before ) a purple symbol that looks like a magic attack.

Step 4 - Drag that down to your bar too.

Step 5 - Repeat, but find (in the skull-looking tab) the outline of a bat (aka lifetap). Drag that down too.

Step 6 - Press the first skill once.

Step 7 - Press the second skill 3 times. MAKE SURE THAT THE BAR IS FINISHED BEFORE PRESSING IT AGAIN.

Step 8 - Press the last skill once. Make sure that you actually pressed it, and if you don't see yourself doing something, press it again.

Step 9 - Repeat Step 7 and Step 8.

How in hell did you level to 70 anyway?

HOW can you not do more dps than the tank... less hes like a pally and all you do is only throw dots on the skull and wand the guy down i dont understand 41/15/5 on my first raid i was 3 on the damage chart and 25/0/36 i was top on my second and 0/20/41(not shadowfury) i was top

and if it was because of gear(being green or not 70) than its understandable becaus YOU SHOULD NOT BE RAIDING THAN... but if the gear is atleast 70 blues you should do 2x the tanks damage

I mean, even if he's in a few greens he should still be able to out-DPS a tank.

Copy and paste this into a macro (ask someone else how to open the macro screen) and just spam it (spec Affliction).

Just SPAM it and you will do fine. Well okay less than fine, but then you'd need to use your brain to actually play WoW.

EDIT: Oh wait even easier! Spec 0/21/40 and spam Shadowbolt.

holy crap, i'm glad i'm only 51, that gives me time to learn something cause those numbers mean nothing to me. just confusing.

destro raid can crit (highest i know is 8k sbolt) 0/21/40

i raided affliction, 45/5/11, much better in pvp, and if you dont have full kara epics (or close to it) affliction is the way to go, 5 dots (6 with pet 7 with a drain of some sort) and sburn whenever cooldown is up (lots of shards but great dps) is a muchless gear dependent spec.

felguard can be good raiding / pvp balance but there are to many ways to customize that.

affliction is best dps until you have done kara a few times.

destro is more for when you have gear with spell dam crit and hit rating.

affliction until you have at least 202 hit but preferably 202 hit, >1000 dmg and >20% crit.

8k is a decent crit on a non-vulnerable mob. i've hit a couple of 9ks with the right debuffs (shadow priest) and of course much higher on mobs like netherspite or curator.
