Ok lets say there are 2 shamans and one of them is Elemental and one of them is Enhancement. They both know how to play a shaman and they're both level 70. If they both dueled, which one would win?
Thottbot > Forums > Classes > Shaman > General > Elemental Sha...
Depends on who is more skilled at playing that build. this has been asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over..... Stop asking it...it all comes down to the player.
Enhancement easy. In case you forgot, Shaman has no cc!! So the Enhancement could just run up to the ele and start swinging his axes like crazy!
It doesnt depend on the class or talent it depends on the player playing the character
it doesnt really depend on the player. it depends on the distance. if an elemental can get off a few lightning bolts and has set up totems (make the enhancement come to you) then the elemental will win. Just like if an elemental rounds a corner and there is an enhancement right there... well see ya later elemental. Ive played both builds and thats how it goes... but elemental are better for bg. 2 second lightning cast with lightning overload = lots of kills.
if skills and gear are same enhance wins all he time and the reason is simple. ehance shaman can easlily out dps and enhance shaman using grounding totem and earthshock can easily close in and take control of fight. add damage reducing effect and nature resistance totem.
gotta agree with tableau since shams dont have any CC. all they can do is drop grounding totem and spam frost shock while tryin to stay far away from us but we can do the same thing while killing their grounding totem. as soon as we catch up to the ele sham we will tear through them. in a 1vs1 duel the enhance shaman will usually win but the ele sham can still gank the hell out of anyone pretty damn easily.
i have a 70 elemental shammy as my main and i love it, but let me tell u this i can't ever win vs an enh shammy 1v1 there is nothig i can do to stop him, they have toughness which allows him to get clode v fast, really there is no way i can stop him from coming close to me, and once he is next to me i die in few hits.
that is life rogues and enh shamans are my worst nightmare. btw if ne1 knows a very efficient way to keep him at a distance(except fs and slow totem) pls tell me:D, maybe some enh shammies can share some weaknesses they have
im a Enhancment shammy we have weakness but really casters easy to kill its the other melee classes thats really hurt Enhacnemnt but to kill enahncment is to kite but 1v1 elemental has next to no chance in 3v3 or 5v5 or PvP when u have someone to hide beheind the casting pulls the damage
I have to say I cannot fight off enhancement shamans. Maybe it is because i dont have the best gear. When I fight an enhancement shaman, I want to attack from range, so i frost shhock and walk backwards. One problem: The enhancement shaman can frost shock too. Then i tried to lightnig bolt them while up close. They either go around me, use grounding totem, or earthshock. The only way to beat an enhancement shaman is to drop fire elemental totem, frost shock, and run. If he attacks the fire totem or elemental, start lightning bolts.
You mean the Elemental PvP 3-min spec?
I guess if he gets some lucky crits the duel would be over pretty fast.
it all comes down to the players ability at that spec?
If the elemental has elemental mastery on is at a fair distance he/she can just cast a quick lightning bolt or chain lightning which would take away a fair amount of health then can just put flameshock on him then just keep hitting him with all spells and obviously keep healing themselve with lesser heal Then again the enhance can have an awsome dual wield on him and an awsome armor set.In that case the enhancement has the upper hand.
To those saying that Shaman don't have CC. You don't use Frost Shock or Earthbind enough against melee attackers.
The problem the enhance shaman will have is closing the distance while you shock him to death.
Elemental = caster that gest Crits out of kind 3.5k with Chain and a lot of those is used Frost Sok ( requires a litlee shaman skill) in combination with some spell totems like Wrath of Air or
Mana Spring; Ench.= melee dps That alows u t tank a little....BE a rolling rogue ....or a warrior By Comparison....but i say using stormstrike u have Proff with Earth Shock ----casting also Lighn Shield and Shamanistic Rage and Blodlust:::: u should use Earthbind for Slow :::: Grounding against casters ::: and HAVE Fun SHAMANS mean 4 classes in 1. The One and Only
ive dueled and world pvped ele shaman and i have to say they wstand almost no chance aganist me they can try to snare me however with toughness combined with a FS of my own i can get close realy quickly and once im in melee range they stand to chance at all
well what if u say they catch you from a great distance the answer is simple use GW to close the distance quickly they might b able to get off a CL and a couple LBs but before they can deal enough damage to screw you over you'll be at melee range and then there screwed
Im enhance and ive fought tons of elemental shaman and every time I win. Its simple:
1. Grounding totem to stop spell from hitting 2. Earthshock to regulate between interrupting and grounding so the elemental shammy cant get nearly any spells in. 3. Lay down mana spring (or if you have the totem, ancient mana spring) so you can easily outlast the elemental mana wise 4. Searing totem to deal damage while elemental runs and slow casting 5. Get close enough, with earthbind then do stormstrike, shasmantic rage, and wipe thier health Plus we can do everything elemental does inculding healing but they just waist all thier mana ^^
Of course the enhancement will win, ele suck at 1v1 really, ele are supposed to stand back and do amazing amounts of dmg not 1v1.
You can do great as an Ele 1v1 against MOST classes. There are a few that we have trouble with though. Just like every other class out there. Ele shammys have a tough time with... Rogues, Enhancement shammys and hunters. Least those are my trouble spots.
To say that an ele shaman sucks 1v1 means one of two things... 1) You don't/haven't played an Ele Shaman or 2) You played one and didn't know what you were doing.
In a dual elemental shaman has little or no chance.
However if its in a BG it usually comes down to who sees who first, the elemental shaman can have the enhance down to half health before the enhance even knows where the ele is, and then just finish them off by dropping various fire totems, dancing around, and using earth shock to interupt their heals. Yet if the enhance sees the ele then, well let's face it, the ele is screwed. Although keep in mind that i dont actually have a 70 sham, only a 46 ele. So if the balance between the two changes between now and then them my entire speel is invalid ^^.
For those who think that an elemental shamy has no chance to kill an enhancement shamy let me tell u that u havent fight agains a skilled shamy, enhancement shamies are so easy to kill if u r an elemental shamy, it only takes a few secs.
u only have to put down grounding totem + earthblind totem and fire nova totems after that trow frost shock then elemental mastery+ chain lightening and to finish him nature's swiftness=lightning bolt if u have a food gear he'll be dead by them.
LOL Thank you to the guy that posted before me. I have owned enhance shamams plenty of times. For the shamans i have fought in BG's, they always use frost shock. Then i use frost shock and start clicking madly on Ele Mastery and Nature's Swiftness then chain lightning which does an instand 2k crit. And if they use earth shock i just run and use frost shock then kite from there.
although i can't speak from experience, since my shammy is only 41 right now, i can say that ele have always offered me more problems when in bg's. i have a few toons, my main is a well geared hunter, and the few times i have an enhancement shaman in a 1vs1 situation, 75% of the times i'm going to win. because they're trying to close the gap and get within melee range, they fall right into what a hunter is looking to do, kite you around all day, laying traps, wingclipping and keeping my pet on him. now when i'm fighting a ele/resto, it's a huge pain in the a$$ all the way. they've got their shield equipped, so their armor is far higher, and they're able to hit me with lightning and CL from an equal distance. i believe it's nature swiftness they use, but even having my pet on them doesn't seem to really interupt their casting, except maybe a little. all it takes is 3 crits of 2.5 - 3k, and i'm down past 20% health and there's not much to do. plus, i'm also taking into consideration a handful of shaman in my guild, all are specced a bit differently, but i've seen the guys that are ele own in bg's. again, i'm not an expert for sure on this, just figured i'd throw in my two cents. i think either way you go both are phenomenal specs, can't really knit pic, it's all about who gets that initial jump on their enemy as the guy above mentioned
