I really think Moonkin is the most powerful char for pvp, and great for pve.
I am a lvl 64 Moonkin, So happy with my character. HES SO POWERFULL! always the top of my bg's at 64, Dmg and kills. Never Talk ill of a moonkin, cause one day you might meet me on the battlefield, and Il drive my moonkin right down your throat!
Being number one in damage and killing blows simply means that you were screwing around midfield just focusing on killing hordies, instead of actually playing the game like the others were. For PvP, resto is by far the best spec. I am a MM hunter, and i can blow a moonkin to pieces extremely easily.
I am Moonkin also and in top five of dps nvr top anymore because i choose to actually try and win and sometimes even play D if necessary. If a moonkin places top in dmg then you need to get out of mid and do something else. Though i agree choose moonkin for fun and nice dmg, resto is boring and is for lazy players since it is so easy to play.
Agreed, I have spec'd all talents, and Moonkin is IMO by far the most fun. I also top high in BG, but as has been said, Being useful to your TEAM is more important than gaining lots of kills. I lecture my guild constantly on this, we have a few people that can not seem to get the idea of team work into there thinking, they would rather boast about how great they are. You get more points for accomplishing things than just killing anyway.
Ask the Raid leader where you are needed, take the time to learn what the acronyms are, and if the lead wants you to hold a point, so be it, If you are sent to the front lines ( my favorite place) go.
Cannot resist the temptation to reply to the hunter with his or her idiotic remark. I put your pet to sleep, root the hunter, sic my trees and all my wrath, while the hunter is rooted helpless because I stand to close for bow, and far enough to be out of weapon reach. If they survive long enough for me be unable to sleep pet again, My DOTs work there magic while I run/heal/run/ innervate/ attack again. Very rarely loose to a hunter. A rogue is for me the bane of my existence.
I am a bal druid, and I very rarely lose to hunters in my lvl range. Sleep the pet, root the hunter, release the treants, and pound away with Wrath and Moonfire. Too easy.
The two main benefits of Moonkin, in my experience, are the increased armor and the increased crit rating. Compared to casting in regular form, Moonkin is VERY survivable. I can fight, shift back to nelf, heal, innervate, shift back to Moonkin, cast some more, shift to cat when my mana taps out, fight melee for a while, heal, do it all again...

having problems with rogues?
i have problems too but i have to say We always DO beat them with the trees.
i am usually dueling rogues so as soon as duel starts i put natures grasp on me and wait... when an attack starts my trees would be probably out so they will get his health down so rapidly he will just panic and there.. i get to move away and DoT and cast ALL the wraths in me.
its easy when u think about it and if its rlly urgent cyclone and heal up.
Ok.. balance like every other class and specs have their uses, but in no way are you the best. A boomkins weekness: Unless you plan on spamming moonfire like a bitch, a warrior will utterly pwn you. You cant cast when a warriors up your ass, natures grasp usually doesn't work, mostly cause of that little trinket everyone uses.. Mages will probably beat you too, frost nova the treants, CS your wrath and your in trouble. Dont claim your class is godly, every class has their ups and downs.
OOMKIN!
Yup, you can kill me in 7 seconds if u have mana, but you go oom waaaaaaay too fast to kill anyone else after that without a drink break
OOMkins sure wont go oom even with crappy gear anymore spectacularly fast... not to speak about having good gear

No oe said Boomkins are the best, thats a stupid thing to say. But so is saying a warrior will pwn us. they are so easy all we have to do is root.. stare at him for a while and laugh,. root again.. simple. yo think we cant cast? all we have to do is barkskin and w ehave no spell pushback at all. and mages are prolbably the easiest class to beat for me as a moonkin. true the counterspell can be tough, bt once yo learn to play against a mage its easy. they can only lock one school out so if they lock arcane you HOT and wrath, if they lock nature then its time to slam them with a 3000k starfire
well i would just like to say im a lvl 70 boomkin and i have played around with resto and feral specs.... in my opinion i think boomkin is the best and most fun. True i wont argue that every class is good at different things as well as specs and all have strengths and weaknesses. You cant really compare a tanking feral or resto druid to boomkin cause they all do different things but feral dps will get rocked by a good boomkin. However about the warrior comment if you think warriors own boomkins you dont know how to use the spec. Most of my guild is ms warriors with better gear or similar gear to me and I never lose to them unless im not fighting in moonkin form. As for mages i can easily rock a mage as well although mages are a very close fight with moonkin sometimes i win sometimes i lose. Im not saying that moonkins dont have their weaknesses and in pvp that would be number 1 warlocks and number 2 rogues. and not to say a rouge or lock cant be taken out by a moonkin but i do a lot of pvp arena and bg as well as dueling friends and generally a lock and rogue will get more of the wins than loses. Anyways moonkin lots of fun massive damage, and probably one of the most underrated and underrestpected classes in the game... pvp and pve. Most ppl dont like moonkin in instances or raids cause their lack of cc inside but everyone that has doubted me always wants me back for the next run.
A lot of people argue that Boomkins don't do as much damage as rogues and mages. But theres just one thing...Can Rogues or mages heal themselves without the use of bandages which can't really be used in combat? Eh, emm...Don't think so. maybe in patch 2.4 mages got some uber heal and rogues got a life stealing poison, but i doubt it. But regardless Feral is definatly the best for leveling and at level 70 the PvP is much better. So i would suggest if you are a level 64 boomkin respec, Take some of the feral staffs and stuff from quest rewards, when you get to level 67-ish start coolecting more balance equip again and respec as soon as you hit 70. Boomkin ftw.
Also, i need to point out that Boomkins don't go OOM very easily anymore. My level 68 druid friend only uses about 1k mana per mob, with 6k mana thats 6 fights easily, with a good deal of spirit thats abouther 1-2 fights, pop inervate. that'll be another mm3-4k mana depending on your spirit which means you can esaily fight 20 mobs with the mroe spirit regeneration and innervate having a 6 minute cooldown you could probably get that again after more mobs. OOMKIN was fixeed by blizzard a while ago.

Hmm boomkin are indeed very fun (play one myself haha *steelpaw on shadowsong server (alliance)* and for all you druid haters out there be careful you underestimate a druid and expect to die =P we don't let up and yes i know all classes have weaknesses and strengths, feral (awsome tanks dps and leveling), boomkin very fun, quite good at pvp and pve, not the best for everything but surely a decent character class if i ever saw one, and resto phew... cannot kill those things even if i laid every single damage spell i got on them =( heal way to fast and rarely run out of mana but to say boomkins own (moonkin for all those who don't know) is just rediculous stunlock rogues are the bane... warlocks are just plain a chalange and shamans ... ewwwwwwwwww. hate those dang things with a passion T_T totems to redirect our spells and enhancement that just pound away on our rears while we whimper in pain is just insane =( but yea balance druids (moonkin) are very fun and very important role in the game =D
Even their dance is the best!

I was referring to the orgiginal post.. he said boomkins were the strongest pvp, which is not even close to true. O btw, if a warrior is on you, and you try to root with barkskin on, what will happen? you didnt take into account PUMMEL. Lets say you do get that root off! all he has to do is click insignia/medallion of the alliance/horde. After that, can you say diminishing returns? Can you say intercept to close the distance fast? I have pretty good boomkin gear on my druid, and i always found that warriors were the hardest, well among the hardest. Against a mage, if they cs your nature spells, your in trouble. Starfire is not a good spell to use if your oponent has the ability to attack you at the time you cast it. With that elemental out, the spell interruption of their spells would delay starfire for a decent amount, you'd almost be dead at that point. Im not saying boomkins are at all bad for pvp, i love mine, but im just saying that they have their weeknesses too.

Totally agree with you. Take time to help your team and win, not just mess around.
I personally am a 47 moonkin (low-level, I know) and I do pretty good damage. Though I know, however, that damage isn't everything.
