lol, ok here's a nice idea...
let us all pop down what we would like the shammy to have if blizz finally gets a guy on the dev team to play a shammy and see how uber-nerfed they have become...
for example, off the top of my head,
1) all spell mana costs reduced by 30-50%
2) 50% WF proc rate
3) WF AP bonus increased by 100%
4) LB casting time reduced by furter 0.5 secs
5) a better final talent for the enhc tree final talent with a plus 3% critting for 30secs with dmg redn
think of more, this should be fun
Hmm..lets see here...
- Either better tanking talents, or taking the shield spec tanking talents out all together for different ones
- Shaman buffs, but ive heard different things that we might get them in 2.4 though....
- More suited class which includes a revision of all the talents in general; we are on the ass end of the 3 hybrid classes, the others being druids and pallys
- More mana efficient heals, its a pain in the ass that our heals cost the most out of any class, even though we have the highest crit heals of any class.
I agree, shammy buffs would be great addition to the ele or resto tree. I also agree that yes, they need to get those tanking talents out of there unless they are going to somehow make us a competitive tanking class. Shamans are a weird class, we kinda got the shit end of the stick on a lot of stuff but we still do alright
this is so true amazing how shamys get no good endgame abilitys (bloodlust is just ok shamans dont even need it) and we still do alrite. i dont understand why blizz hates us
if blizz replaced the tanking talents and replaced them with extra OH weapon damage then we would woop a lot more ass. get the extra 50% damage for OH that combat rogues get

I dont know if any of you read the World of Warcraft Shaman Forums on the official site but Shaman buffs for 2.4 is not gonna happen. Also WF procs enough already and some of the things you are suggesting are too good to ever happen.
dude...doombeat.
dont be such a killjoy.
we KNOW we can only get nerfed from here and NEVER IN ITS TIME OF EXSISTANCE WILL BLIZZ EVER EVER BUFF shaman...
thats why this is so hypothetical!
just a WISH list. which will never happen we know and have learnt to live with!
ok, btw doombeat how are u so sure of the shaman buffs?
the entire shaman community has been crying for buffs for a really long time and well, what about kalgan's word?
i thought this was SO happening??
EVERY, i mean EVERY other class has CC except us, name one and i can tell u...
what about us?...ROFLMAO, lets see, STONE CLAW!!! thats right!
promises included were, im not sure now tho :
1)a look into the immobile totems and the mechanics. (YAY!!!!!)
2)a 2v2 arena viable tree and it could be enhancement!!
3)a LOT of other suggestions.
among the more cooler and VIABLE ones:
IMP GW : talent that breaks all CC and impairment effects, deeper down in the enhc tree
Blood Link: Links the blood of the target to that of the Shamans group distributing 50% of all direct damage sustained by the target of the spell to the group members instead.
Spirit Link: Links the spirit of the Shaman to that of the target. Any spells cast by the target will use 50% of the required mana for the spell from the Shamans mana pool instead of their own.
Feral Spirit: Summons a Spirit wolf that fights for the Shaman for 60 seconds. Ten minute cooldown for this spell most likely. Further ranks would summon 2 and then 3 wolves. Primarily they would cause massive hate so the wolves would easily be able to taunt off any mobs and tank for a short duration.
Earthquake Totem: Places a quake totem on the ground. The area around the totem shakes and rumbles with the fury of the earth. All hostile mobs in the area of effect have their movement speed, attack speed and casting speed reduced by 25%. They suffer an amount of nature damage per second and there is a 5% chance they will be knocked down for 2 seconds. The totem lasts for 10 seconds and has a 10 minute cooldown.
Hex: Hexes the target turning them into a critter for 10 seconds. In short, this is a much lesser version of the Mages sheep ability. Perhaps even a 10 to 30 second cooldown on the spell.
Voodoo Power: This spell is channeled. The Shaman enters a trance of concentration focusing all of their energies on the target. While under the effect of the power of Voodoo the target has all stats increased by 25% and all damage sustained reduced by 50%. The effect last for 12 seconds and is broken if the Shaman is interrupted. Long cooldown on this spell, maybe even require reagents.
Etheral Form: Turns the Shaman ethereal, making him immune to physical damage, but unable to attack. Ethereal units can only be harmed by Magic attacks and spells. While in this form the Shaman can only cast Restoration spells but his mana regeneration is increased by a significant percentage and continues while casting.
Phase Shift: Causes the Shaman to shift out of existence whenever it takes damage. While out of existence, the Shaman cannot: attack, move, cast spells, be attacked, or have spells cast upon it and the Shaman regens health and mana at an increased rate. This ability would be a self buff instant cast spell. It would be proc based. So when this buff is active there is a 50% chance the buff would proc shifting the Shaman out of existence for 10 seconds. Probably a 5 to 10 minute cooldown.
Mana Flare: Either a debuff or a totem: Causes negative magical energies that damage the target(single debuff) or any nearby enemies(if a totem) when they cast spells. Another possible idea for this would be that instead of causing the target to take damage, makes the targets spells use more mana than normal.
Storm Rage: A talent that increases the party's spell damage by 10% when the Shaman causes a critical hit with their spells. (Basically the caster version of the Enhancement Talent.)
Statis Trap : like the witch doc's stasis trap totem. stun. still take dmg. a good CD like 30s on this one.
Shamanistic Rage : now has a The Beast Within kinda mechanic that makes u immune to CC for the duration (which wont happen, so hopefully for 5-10s at least) and gives u an AP or crit chance boost. but this talent is like the best thing that could ever happen to enhc, so im drooling...hoping
all our ""buffs"" so far have been MINOR corrections to the over-nerfs taht blizz dropped on its patches on shaman.
lets cross our fingers and hope that blizz actually starts ""BUFFING" the shaman.
for the shaman!! for the horde!!
The buffs given when you complete totem quests would be nice.
Rock Skin and Blessing of Swift Winds etc.
also they are the only class (i think) without a stun or an immunity move.
they need buffing alot but not so far that they need a nerf.
After all they should be as durable as a paladin or a druid and at the moment they seem to be a sub class rather than a hybrid.
-Giveable buffs, rock skin, swift winds etc.
-ghost wolf to act as a druids cat form without any moves like maul etc, but prehaps some form of lesser stealth.
-either a stun or an immunity. my suggestions are:=
-one that uses up all 4 totems to make the shaman immune to spells and attacks for 10 seconds but is unable to move away from the totems.
-a windshock with a chance to stun but doesnt do much damage.
-a talent in the elemental tree that gives frostshock a chance to freeze the opponant to the floor (prehaps replace elemental devistation with it as i see that as being pointless to an ele shaman)
-put the toughness talent deeper into the enh tree but make it up to 50% or so it is close to plate, this gives the shaman more chance of tanking as it seems impossible at the moment.
if you like my ideas or want to discuss them feel free to e-mail me on feather_of_the_firebird@hotmail.co.uk
god those things would be awesome/semi-useful/fun! and those are three reasons that Blizz would never give them to us
Fun.. for shaman maybe. Other classes wouldn't find it fun when we get one-shotted by all your godly suggestions..lol
dude...NONE of these suggestions can help a shaman 1 shot.
I got a good One Thunder fist for enhancement stuns for 4 secs 10 sec cooldown as the 80 end talent
How bout something as simple as giving us the full effect of purge (In reference to warcraft 3). Allow us to cast it on our enemies to remove positive effects, and allies to remove negative ones. Obviously at the sacrifice of movement speed decrease for 2-3 seconds on either. A cooldown on it would be required 3-4 seconds? This would finally be a counter to a warlock spell (there really aren't for their dots) aside from healing through their damage. Purge to remove anything from sleep to fear, whatever the case may be.
The spirit wolves would be very nice as well.
shammys do have buffs. its call totems.
and heroism is a pretty good end game skill. fire nova and the other fire totems are a good aoe if you use them right.
we just need to know how to play our characters.
How about a talent that reduces the chance your Frost Shock will be dispelled by 100%?
Deep in some tree, of course.
Or:
Insert Totemic-sounding-name here
1-minute cooldown.
The Shaman recalls the totem, gaining the effect of the totem, and thus he can move around with a totem.
Imagine a Shaman walking around shooting fireballs from his arse.
I was thinking if they re-did Windfury. have it proc more, but remove the AP bonus and add a group heal AOE. like preists vampiric embrace. so every time it procs a percentage returns to the party as health. so enhancement shammys can DPS an have a healing return as well. imagine 3 enhancement shammys putting out the insane DPS that they do now, while healing the group at the same time. could do the same thing with a mana return. a healing DPS class.
Earthquake shammy AoE slows all in radius by 30% and deals damage to anyone in it
THATs like mad for Av and Ab
