I agree. I am a lvl 70 Warrior; 375 Armorsmith; and I made the Breastplate of the Kings. Guess what. It's not for Prot Warriors. It's rated as a mele class armor. I should have looked a lot closer at what I was getting in to. What a waste.

Blacksmithing necessarily isnt a waste of time. Theres more than just those items you can make, theres things called instances, they drop different plans for different items, you should try doing them sometime. Plus if your really into tanking you should know that you would need a blacksmith to make resist sets for SSC / TK and BT. Really think about what your saying before you make opinions.

It is so true...every profession there is bad and good things about them....I think if you really into it...you will find its usefull skills.  Good luck

Well, maybe I am being a little hard on the profession I took. I mean, I can make the Ragesteal set. And the Swiftsteals. Of course, these aren't really classed as tank gear. The Iceguard set and the Shadesteal, don't sell. Well, like you said, guilds will need them. But they won't pay the price I need for a profit, especially since all guilds do have their own Smith, and I certainly am not gonna jack up the price for the members of my guild. Now there is the Red Havoc Boots. Probably one of the top "tank" boots available. Of course, mats are hard and in order to get the plans, I may have Boots of the Resilient on me by then, or at least hope so, so I doubt I'll be wearing the Havoc.

The odds on me constitently getting the items needed to make the Havocs, well, I think I could make more profit doing something else by the time I get the drops.

BTW, my response was to the original post because he said something about a tankadin. Nah....I beg to differ....as a Blacksmith, especially an Armorsmith, you aren't gonna get rich.

Dawnsteel and others such like that sell for a lot, as i said you need to do instances for the drops, they arent just learnable. Use mining and dailies for the profit, just because other people do instances and get drops doesnt mean you cant. Unless by when you mean tanking  you mean only Shadowlabs. Because last time i checked theres a lot of BS plans that drop in 25 mans.
