Wherever you're questing, there should always be something to skin. If you're going to be a LW you should ALWAYS have skinning as your second profession. It's much cheaper to skin versus buying your leather at the AH. Try to keep both professions within a few skill points of eachother... i.e. 150/158. Skin animals that are no less than green to you; otherwise you most likely won't get full pieces. You'll usually just get scraps. Same thing for creating leather armor-nothing less than green. Once you begin to create pieces that have stats, sell them at the AH. Do a search while at the AH to find what similar items are selling for. If there are a lot of what you are trying to sell listed at the AH, look at the lowest buyout price and sell yours for just a little bit less than the lowest listed price-unless the lowest is ridiculously cheap. Some people don't know how much to list for so they'll simply just put it up for quick cash. If you've ever sold on Ebay, the process is very similar.  Once you start to create items that are blue, you'll find ingredients much harder to find. If you've killed creatures that drop what you need, but you're not having any success with drop rates, you may have to purchase them at the AH. This is rare, but it is sometimes necessary. I have a rogue who's a LW and when I began creating blue items and selling them at the AH, I very quickly accumulated over 100 gold-and this was before she was lvl 30. I know some might not be impressed with that but I was. :) Sell smart, work fast and grind whenever possible. I try to grind every other lvl with just upping my LW and skinning and it seems to work for me. I'm sure there is something I'm missing, but I can't think of anything now. Good luck and hope this helps!

1. Truely the best way if you have skinning is to go farm your leather. If you are just starting LWing and you are in your 20s-30s it will be boring but needed.

2. Scroll down the list of recipes here on TB and find and make a list of a few patterns that use the LEAST ammount of materials to make after your armor kits turn green. I think it is 15 skill between when it turns yellow and when it turns green? (200 yellow/215 green) but I am not 100% sure on that.

3. If you have another charcter and can take up Enchanting, DO IT. When you make Green items, disenchant them and sell the materials on the AH. This is by far the best money making for a LW. Sure your items will make you some decent money once you get MUCH higher, but for now, people trying to power level their enchanting or twink a low level buy tons of enchanting materials.

4. Dont waste a ton of coin on patterns you are too high to use or wont use at all. Players are not going to buy your low level stuff 9 times outta 10 so dont waste your time or money.

5. Items that are closest to the x9 are the best sellers. example level 29, 39, 49 items. They have the best stats possible for the Battle Grounds and will sell better than like a level 51 item. Try auctioning in trade channel, instead of on the AH if you want to save a bit on the deposit, in a major city, but dont MAKE the item until it is ordered.

6. When you are skinning leather too high for your LW skill, SAVE IT. Nothing worse than having to farm 200 leather when you just vendored it for nearly nothing.

Hope this helps a bit. LW is very easy to 335 if you plan it right.

Hi there,

I'm a lvl 70 hunter
My skinning is up to 375
but my lw stayed kinda stuck in my begin levels (its only 68)
Is it worth the effort to level it up to 375??

because skinning makes me money but i think with lw it will make me even more

Ycarus you definitely want to get LW to375.I believe Hunters go Dragonscale and the BOP set you get is def. worth leveling LW.Plus you are already high level so you can farm the lower leathers needed to level in a much shorter amount of time.My advice would be to power level that and get your BOP Epics. Then you can always make high-end armor kits and bags for extra $$$.
