The new lvl 70 Razorthorn Ravagers can be found on the border of hellfire pen and terrok at a place call razorthorn rise... around 57,13 if u have co ords
I stumbled on these guys by accident. Normally I don't pay attn to any of the mobs in Hellfire because they've always been grey to me and I don't need them anymore, but when I was traveling to Hellfire to do the fishing daily one day, I suddenly noticed these level 70-72 mobs. WTF? I immediately turned around to take a closer look, and sure enough, there were level 70+ mobs in this little area. Now I know I never noticed them before and I started wondering how long they've been there. "Razorthorn Rise" doesn't bring up any results on Thottbot so I tried the name of the Ravager themselves and found this page. I guess they added it with the 2.4 patch which would explain why I never noticed it before all the times I flew over this particular area. Currently, it looks like there's no purpose for them, but when you hover over the dirt mounds, they light up. I'm wondering if Blizzard intends on putting in a quest that leads to this little area. Only time will tell...
well, I tamed one. Its great, very easy to attain, saves me from having to level a BEM ravager from 63-70...However, they gain Loyalty VERY slowly. I feed him all the time, to the point that he is constantly only gaining 1 happiness. I have had him now for over 7 hours and not 1 level of loyalty has been gained...I wonder if it is broken. Someone let me know plz.
as a side note when you do the coords make sure you are in terokkar forest if not u will end up in throne of kil'jaden in hellfire. if your in hellfire its right behind falcon watch just left of den of haalesh
Rate of loyalty gain is based on the XP you would be getting from killing mobs. Make sure you and your pet are killing mobs that are at least green (will loyal faster with yellow, etc). I captured one of these ravagers this weekend, and had it loyaled up in about 4 hours (ground talbuk/clefthoof) in Nagrand. Also be sure to feed it often (even if his face isn't less than happy yet). Max happiness while loyalty grinding is also key in expediting the rate of loyalty gain.
I think he is bugged-Ive ground over 8 hrs of solid 70 level plus mobs and gained nothing. Making matters even stranger is the fact that he has 0 training points showing rather than negative training points most animals display when tamed with abilities, until they reach a higher level of loyalty. I took mine to pet trainer and attempted to unlearn abilities-got charged for it but nothing changed-still shows 0.Im gonna give him 1 more day and ditch him if he doesnt come around.
So the current ravager I have I got from Netherwing Mine. What makes this new one so special? I guess I could do Beast Lore on him, but he knows nothing, have to loyatly level him up and train, blah, blah, does he do more damage, or have better health/armor by default?
OK, here's what I know based purely off of common Hunter knowledge:
First off, you're taming a level 70 and then complaining it's hard to level its loyalty. Loyalty leveling is similar to regular leveling; it's based off of the XP you get from mobs. The higher the pet's level, the more XP it needs to raise loyalty. Thus, at lvl 70, you're gonna need a hell of a lot in order to raise it. Take it with you during a Kara run or during Heroics. It'll gain plenty of XP then. As for the Ravager itself, it doesn't have anything special. It's simply a green ravager for lvl 70s who like the color, but don't want to tame a little lvl 60 and raise it up.
I just tamed one of these today, took it to a regular Old Hillsbrad, and it's lvl 2, doesn't seem that hard to get loyalty, just keep it happy and fight with it, same as any pet. The fact it doesn't already know gore is annoying though.
Got my Razerthorn Ravager to loyalty level 4 yesterday evening.
So I guess loyalty level 6 is no problem either. ^_^ And no, it doesn't come with any skills when you tame it, so here's what I did: I first tamed a level 63 Rip-Blade Ravager so that it could teach me Gore 9 /Dash 3. (Dash 3, I really didn't need, because my cat already had it) I attacked one enemy with the Rip-Blade, it taught me Gore 9 immediately, so I went straight up to where the Razerthorns are, abandoned the Rip-Blade on the spot and tamed me a lvl 70 Razerthorn. :-) Pity to let the Rip-Blade go actually, cause they're so much prettier I think (with the changing colours and all), but I didn't feel like leveling it to 70. But I hope this answers some loyalty questions here. ;-) Good luck and have fun.
btw for people interested in getting the loyalty of these pets up... blizz increased the amount of xp you would need to gain by about 50%
source: http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=5833.0 "It looks like a change went unnoticed on the 2.4 PTRs, Blizzard changed the XP required to level up at ... 70 ! Before the patch players needed 814,700 XP to level to 71, but since tuesday you need about 50% more xp to reach this level, bringing the total to 1,256,500 XP. According to a few reports this change was made because of an interface bug but increasing the max xp by 50k or 100k would have been enough to fix it, this leaves us with another theory : leveling in WotLK will require 50% more xp than what you needed in BC, it wouldn't be surprising and would be equal to the same difference of XP between Burning Crusade and WoW classic." So its going to take us even longer to get our pets training points up now.
Most hunters waste so much food and money by just dumping constant food into their pet. If you click on your pet before you feed him, you can see he gains a buff. If you wait to feed him when the buff wears off you will save so much food and money. Also, constant feeding does not change the amount of happiness the buff gives. That is based on food item level in perportion to your pet. Keep this in mind.
yeah I just picked one up...
out of bordem I was testing how bad the Scorpid nerf was. (Scorpids are a complete waste of a pet for PvE... PvP they're handy in like 1 out of every 5 fights) But yeah, I'm trying this guy out now, nothing better to do with my third pet slot atm... only about 1 hour with um so far edit: did 14 dailies and got his 1st loyalty ding it does improve, it's just slow
Umm... y can't we tame the Razorthorn ravengers??? and where can i get a lvl 70 ravenger then.
I belive that the reason they are not letting you tame razorthorn ravagers is simply becasue...in the new patch daily quests there is one quest called discovering your roots which allows someone to tame a ravager as a pet and make them dig up the quest item (its just my idea) oh and i found the easiest way to get nether residue is from skinning the ravagers. hope this helps at least a little :]
im there now and im trying to tame one and it is telling me creature not tamable wtf do i doo??
