Might want to check the math hotshot...Arc mages are the highest DPS of all builds. The math doesn't lie. They do blow an assload of mana though :(

Hands down the best meta for aff locks :-)

Also important to note, deep arcane mages get 25% of their intellect as spell damage, along with moonkin, while deep holy paladins get 35% of their intellect (i believe, though it could be 25% as well). Moonkin also get 10% of their intellect as mana regeneration. Point is, fully raid buffed my gnome mage has something like 700 intellect (racial passive, arcane talent, kings...), which means this gem gives me 14 intellect, which in turn is 3.5 spell damage and 210 mana, along with the 14 from the gem itself, and some fraction of a %chance to crit. If you use a 61/0/0, 40/21/0 or 40/0/21 (im the latter) this is probably the best meta gem in the game, and maybe the same for moonkin and shockadin, and maybe healadins too (i don't really know healing meta gems, and i don't know how much intellect they have, but extra mana is always nice, plus the healing)

  This looks great for when I have 700 int. Right now, though, I'm at 62 (have a meta slot in engineering goggles), so it seems better to have 12 int from the insightful earthstorm diamond - building the base from which the other multipliers add.

If you are using [Insightful Earthstorm Diamond] it might be wise for you to replace it with [Ember Skyfire Diamond] instead.

For a UA lock which would be better the swift starfire diamond (http://thottbot.com/i28557) which gives +12 spell damage and 8% run speed boost which is essentially free or this one which has a +2 spell damage increase and +2% intellect?

Would this be the best meta gem for a Shadow Priest? I haven't seen anything better. It's pretty expensive, so i just want to make sure before I spend the gold. Thanks.

i would have to say that at the stage of pre kara or just plain low int this gem only gives you very little bouns but when you have aroung 800 intelect raid buffed it can give you 16 and as it is % based it will scale with gear forever and the better you do the better it is im not going to say that it will be good post bc but when we all have 1500 int un buffed this will be even stronger
