This thing as of now is junk. Im sure Blizz will buff it though.

i know that the truesilver boar was good for the lower level's, is this guy good dps for hanging w/ the 70's?

Just bought the pattern today, once we get the Badge Vendor and I can buy the Pyrestone I'll see how it works.

The boar is pretty lame, actually. Hits for around 60/second against a 70 non-elite. Was very disappointed, given the materials needed.

Yes it can be used in Arena. There is also the Felsteel Boar that can be made that gives 68 attack power, and the mats are much easier to get. In my opinion it works very well for PVP.

If you're using it for the boar summon, prepare to be heartily disappointed.

I've gone back to the ol' Abacus. The 20% haste is just far more useful than the extra AP. The boar is just garbage for PvE.

    I am a prot warrior, I use this when I mine. I hit the boar up, it aggros the mob camping the node, and I go to town mining the node, so no one ninja's it.
    
    If I had to kill the mob without the boar, there is a big chance someone will drop down and start taking the node from me, and I have no Feign Death/Vanish/Ice Block to dump the mob on them to defend the node, so this is an awesome trinket for that.
    
    I dunno bout you guys, but I hate clearing the mob next to a node, getting said mob to about 40%, then seeing someone jump off their flying mount and start mining the node :-\

This thing can be used in arena. Just beat a rogue shaman combo yesterday 05/07/08. The rogue popped it up, I was like wtf. Hits me around 300-400ish.

Not sure what Blizz was thinking here.

Given the high cost of the mats it's not good for much of anything.

At best, a minor distraction in PVP but close to useless in soloing or PVE. It can't be healed, it doesn't hold aggro, does next to no DPS, and got 3-4 shotted by a level 69 in about 10 seconds.

Come on Blizz, if you're going to make someone spend 1500-2000g on Mats at least make the thing usefull in some way :/

Definitely not worth the expense to make. I have this on my 70 rogue. The +AP is terrific, but the boar itself is a bit lame. It only hits for 20-70 and has almost no hp. As stated above, it gets 2-3 shotted if it actually pulls something onto itself while "fighting for you"

Yes.. the boar is terrible. But it comes in handy against ice traps and against healers... as long as they're too stupid to hit it...

This does not share a cool down with the Felsteel boar figurine. Its a lot of fun to Drop both together when in PVP - especially vs a cloth wearer. These boars do not do a ton of damage considering the cost of the mats - but they are a lot of fun.

And the boar that pops is huge. I am on Azuremyst and I have all three boars. See screenshot above.
