Yes I got this after the 2.4 patch.  Shattered Sun Offensive quartermaster sells it at Honored.  But as of today it seems no one really wants it lol.  Hope people start wanting this one.

    gief.

    1 def = 0.04% parry,dodge and block
    15 def = 0.60%

that is better than 150hp imo

It's true you get .04% block/dodge/parry per defense, but you also get .04% for a mob to miss you when you attack.

      15 defense rating * .423 defense per rating (at 70) = 6.3 defense
      * .16% (block/dodge/parry/miss) = 1%

Basically you get .75% avoidance from this enchant and .25% block.

However, you only need 490 defense (330.4 rating from your gear) at level 70 to be immune to criticals from a mob three levels higher than you. There are few exceptions to this rule, such as Malicious Instructors in Shadow Labs and Assassins in various instances. It's pointless to continue stacking defense after you reach the 490 benchmark because other ratings increase far more rapidly than defense (15 dodge rating is .79% avoidance and 15 block rating is 1.9% block.)

So in short, only get this enchant if you have not reached 490 defense. If you have, go for 150 HP or +6 stats because HP is your new best friend.

Wow, you all fail.  People just don't seem to understand!  These points, found in enchants, gems, inscriptions, etc are all FUNGIBLE!  If you have the 15 def here, you can drop it out of gems or other enchants and get more total benefit.  Example:  I sit at 490+ defense, I drop 2 +8 DEF gems for this, and replace them with 2 12 stam, or 2 8 hit gems, and now instead of 150 HP and 16 def, I have 240 HP and 15 def, or 16 hit and 15 def!  You could also switch out some tanking gear for DPS gear or avoidance gear to drop the defense rating.  There's no reason for a tank not to get this enchant since it is by far the most itemization points for the slot.

If you're only going for uncrittable, you're right. If you're going for uncrushable, you're wrong:

Here are stats in order of contribution from fastest to slowest to bringing you toward making you uncrushable, posted with each stats equivalence to 1% uncrushability.

        7.9 Block Rating = 1% Block
        15 Defense Rating = 0.25% Miss, 0.25% Dodge, 0.25% Parry, 0.25% Block
        18.9 Dodge Rating = 1% Dodge
        22.4 Parry Rating = 1% Parry
        25 Agility = 1% Dodge

This chant is better for druid because only ring/trink/cloak/neck have + defence for druid. Since druids need 415 defence... early in raiding u can drop heavy clefthoof gear for badge and with this chant can still keep the cap.

Alright question, I'm a druid tank sitting at 406 defense with 15 resilience to get me the rest of the way. The 15 resilience is the result of the res. enchant to my chest. Now that there's a defense enchant, I'm wondering if I should get this one to replace the res.?

I know there are different benefits to each, frankly I'm horrid at math, and I just want the jist of it. 15 res does cap me, so sacrificing that for 15 def, would it be worth it and would I still be capped?
