I have a level 6 rogue and i just got my professions.  Do i train lockpicking at a rogue trainer or what?

no its a quest. u get at 16

i am 118 in lockpicking and i dont no where to go to train it can some1 help me plz

can not open chest, got quest to open chest at althers mill, when scanning over chests, all i get is black wheel and a message saying the box is locked. what is the problem?

you can go to hillsbrad to durnhold keep there are boxes that u can pick to get your lp up. When u lvl up you get +5 for lp. the more you lvl up the more you get to cap on lp.

Don't forget pickpocketing.  When the junkboxes you get are high enough, you can level off of them too.

Don't fall behind too much from your combat level either.  At lvl 60 I had to stop and pick junkboxes from lvl 270'ish to lvl 300.  Lots of poison mats tho!

something not mentioned here, but i feel important to..... you gain 5 points in lock-pick skill "potential" as you gain a combat level.
Level 25 would then have a "potential", to point up to 125 lockpick skill (25 X 5 = 125) and then add 5 pts. per lvl after that.

I been trying to figure out how to start leveling lockpicking and after reading and trying most things i figured it out myself. I am level 24 now and I am a blood elf. I'm in the ghostlands and thier is a cave called Amani Catacombs. I have been lockpicking the chests in here and going out waiting for respawns and coming back in. If your a blood elf this is perfect because it's local and it's easy to fight off the level 17 undead. WAIT until your at least 23/24 level. come here and viola! Goodluck. I am still working on it so i don't know how high i'll get just in this place yet.

Ok so I just got my Lockpicking to level 94 in the Amani Catacombs. That's all I can do. If I figure another good spot out I'll be sure to post it here. Took like an hour and a half. It was mad boring but now i'm at 94!!

your have to go up to the box the black/grey whell you see means its out of range it will be gold/yellow when you get near enought to open it
