Since I had this problem and could not find a solution here, I figured I would help everyone out once I found it. To get your skill over 150, you need to buy the book "Expert Fishing-The Bass and You." I got it from the fishing supplier in Booty Bay (on the bottom floor, since there are 2 suppliers there). That'll get you to 225, and my understanding is that Nat Pagle will get you to 300. Don't waste time going city to city looking for trainers. They don't have the skill available (for Alliance, I've never fished as the Horde...).

Nice post. You can sometimes find a book in the auction house. If you don't, when you go to buy one in Booty Bay, I suggest you buy about 5 of them, use one yourself and sell the rest for around 1G25s in the AH, and you'll make back all the money you spent and get your fishing 150 for free. (and help others at the same time) You can try selling for more for a profit... 1G50s is reasonable and actually earns you 1G profit, but I like to break even and help people. Same with the cookbook.

Just to add, you get a quest to do fishing over 225 from Nat Pagle in Theramore Isle (on a small island there). YOu have to have your fishing at exactly 225 and your level must be 35+. Same as the cooking quest at the same level.
