Will IMP seal of righteousness with a fast weapon like the Crystalblade of the Draenei overpower Seal of blood as far as DPS is concerned? I have haste on my gloves so it would be down around the 1.6 swing speed area. I'm thinking that with the standardized damage per swing of SoR it would perhaps overpower seal of blood and take zero health to boot. I just don't want to spend the 20g to respec and then have to spend another 25 to spec back when it fails :P. Fast weapon is cool for Seal of Light so i'm wondering if it would improve that too. I'm trying to get a touch more dps for duels and pvp cuz prot is soooo boring in PVP but my guild needs a tank.

There is no such thing as prot pvp. If you pick up Imp SoR, u are lettin ur guild down by pickin up a nub prot spec. Stick to tank with ur pally and lvl up a real pvp class/spec. If you still insist on pvping with ur prot, deal with the non existant dps and just pick up ur free kill assist honor and ur 10 loss arena pts.
yea kind of what i figured. I'll try seal of vengence...i didn't even think i had that. That's what i get for questing so late into the night when i'm half asleep.
Ok...i see i don't get that at all.. Great. Alliance paladin get a dot and we get a skill that hurts us?? How is that fair?
For duels, Respec. And having minor haste on your gloves is a waist of a decent enchant. You can get +str, +stam, +int or +threat. Use a encahnt that will actually help you. I would personaly go for +10 stam from a armor kit but that is just me(the more HP = you live longer.) and they are cheep.
But to cap it all off, dont use the haste on gloves, it is a waist of a enchant that can actually help you. I dont want to hit faster, I want to live longer and still hold agro. What is your armor at right now? You could even put 240 armor on your gloves.
With Devotion Aura i'm a lil over 1250.
I like the haste on my gloves because i just switch to Seal of Light and heal up during larger pulls it won't heal me beyond the damage but it will certainly slow down my demise. I'm open to ideas tho so keep them coming.
1250 = 12500?
Just stick with pve and as a tank build. Swap ur haste enchant on the gloves for a threat or stm armor patch. Threat is a bit more costly, but its def nicer IMO. As for seals, you should be using SoL and SoW only if u have control in threat. If ur slipping and need more of it, u need to go back to SoR. (in groups ofc). If ur solo grinding, use SoL and SoW, swapping back n forth to raise both bars up. Also, you should be using ret aura instead of the devo. When u have multiple mobs, you maintain aggro on all of them by ret aura and ur consecs. If ur solo grinding, thats all u have to rely on to dmg them... make sure u continue with SoW/JoW so that you can continue to lay down consecs(lower rank) and slowly burn down ur mobs.
right, yes, 12500 :P
so i should be using lower ranks of consecrate?? I figured just spamm the big dawg and let it eat? and so you do suggest using Ret Aura? even though it drops my armor by a lil over 1200? that's like an extra piece of armor..(not arguing just clarifying) I picked up some good +spdmg/healing gear and got the hook up with my guildie JC for def and spdmg/heal gems. they don't increase the amount healed by the seal of light :( seems like the only thing that will do that is a faster weapon they do seem to increase the proc of the heal effect but not the actual ammount. and to answer my original question: Seal of Righteousness puts down more Holyhurt than seal of blood as it is so IMP SoR will definately do more. What a crock... puny damage AND it hurts us? Blizz definately didn't want there to be Horde Paladin. i think i'll change my macro for my consecrate #showtooltip (terokkar AP trinket thingie) <so i can see it's cooldown ticker> /use (terokkar trinket for AP) <---i know i know tanks don't need ap but it's not a bad thing to have...every 1.5 min i pop heroism and can kill my primary target (boss?) quicker that and it'll do till i get better tank trinkets /cast consecration [highest lvl] /cast consecration [next one down] /cast consecration [and so forth] till i'm at my lowest one that way it will simply use a lesser version if i don't have enough mana for the first one of course if i'm too low on mana to consecrate then i need to preserve what's left for my bubblebandage trick to save my own @$$ ... hope they introduce better first aid with the WoTLK i'll wait for answers about devotion aura to respec. I need to change a few points around but don't want to have to do this too many more times.
Your ammount of +heal will NOT show you better returns from JoL. The t4 for holy pallys will increase it by 20 after they get 2 pieces of the set. It is one of the most WORTHLESS 2 peice set bonuses out there, but i do like my 4 peice set bonus.
And your a 70 correct? With only 12k armor? You need to work on that a little. Im holy and i have more. lol. How much HP do you have? How about your defence rating? Throw your armory link out there. I would like to see it. Also NEVER put any + healing gems on your gear. +Stam, defence rating, stam or stam would be great!
plate armor is based on item lvl alone. So since I am debatably the best geared player in my guild (5/5 MH, 5/9 BT)... I actually have the highest non-bear armor... as a holy spec with the armor talent.
No tank should have imp. seal of righteousness though. No tank should have any points in the holy tree. You need mitigation talents over everything else, prot pally threat is great as long as you have a decent SD weapon w/ SD enchant. As a healer all I have to say is my first priority for healing is the tank, because if you die it is a wipe. If someone else gets threat capped, it isn't the end of the world, and if they pull aggro it is their own fault - unless you are a whiny little brat and don't have a threat meter, in which case it is your fault for making them guess.
i'm just now 67
i don't have a threat meter but i'm not a whiney little brat :P what is SD enchant?
SD = Spell Damage
Make sure you pick up a dmg meter... OMEN Every tank should have this as well as all dps classes.
meh. i got Omen but it's buggy.
ah..i have improved my gear and my abilities since posting the above comments. I have a bit farther to go as my shoulders, rings, bracers, and belt still need attention. Still gotta replace that AP trinket too. I'm going to drop BS and pick up JC. AWESOME tanking trinkets to be made with that and my rogue is a miner so i'm good on mats i think at least for now.
gotta find better boots (i'll regem them when i get home from this business trip) and a more tank friendly libram but all in all it's not too bad. I employed the Crushable? macro and when i pop holy shield with dabiri's Enigma (macroed together to keep it up as much as possible) i'm at a little over 97% I am one string of dailies shy of getting the SSO SD sword, which i'd have if i weren't stuck in this hotel with these stupid wireless bridges not working :(, and i keep a WIzard oil stack in my inv at all times incase i'm blessed with a chance to tank something. armory url: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Blackhand&n=Ahlreon my DEF was above 490 but i nabbed that necklase and couldn't let it go for the stamina AND dodge. I'll easily make that def up with the other parts of gear i need to upgrade. I'll lose a bit more def when i swap swords but i feel i need to up my sd more to make sure i don't drop aggro. Having bounced around from spec to spec with this guy on his voyage to 70 i feel that this is the primary role that Blizzard intended the Paladin to take. SO many skillpoints lean toward tanking it's hard to deny. Add Comment
