Many of you are curious on how to obtain a Death Knight (referred to as DK), how they work, there powers, ext. This explains the main information and will be updated often if it is popular. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have, but please give me a few days to get back to you. (Not suppost to be on here right now xD )
How To Get: To obtain a DK, you must first have a level 50-80 (undecided) character. Your character must also complete a very long quest chain which Blizzard states can be soloed. There will be NO raids involved as of yet. The quest will be called “Escape From Stratholme!” as the first part.
Main Info of a DK: When you first start a DK, you will have to choose a race, and that is your faction obviously. You will start near a neutral city (such as Shattrath City) and you will be approximately level 60 with epic gear and a few gold to start you off. You can create as many DK’s as you wish although they count as separate characters, if you played a Hunter named… “Hunter,” and you did the long quest chain, Hunter would not be lost, the DK will be a COMPLETELY SEPARATE CHARACTER.
Info of DK: The DK is meant to be a main tank. He, like the warrior and paladin, can wear all types of armor (Cloth, Leather, Mail, Plate). He is UNABLE to use any type of shield. As of right now the DK receives an epic sword with a small message inscribed like “Powered by the Lich King himself…” I believe you must wield that 2H sword, I’ll edit this if not. He can also DPS, but not nearly as powerful as the rogue or feral druid.
Weapons: There are 3 types of “enchants” the DK can do. He can coat his weapon(s) with certain runes. Frost, Unholy, and Blood runes. It is called “Inscription,” and is a new profession. Blizzard states that coating your weapon with these runes does NOT make the damage Frost, Unholy, or Bloody. It is suppose to change the weapon in a different way, such as shamans totems. (wind fury, rock biter, flame tongue)
Fighting Styles: Is the DK the same as a warrior you ask? Not at all! If any of you are familiar with a Balance Druid, the DK will be able to summon down minions that act the same way as Force of Nature. (Auto-Aggressive) He does NOT use mana, rage, or energy. He has his own special power bar. (the name has slipped my mind)
EDIT: They will be open to all races as of right now. They're mount will be like a mix of a Paladin / Warlock mount. The quest is also similar to the Warlock Epic Mount (Level 60) Quest.
P.S. For all of you who hadden't noticed, the "Bard" class was an April Fools joke lol.
