i've had a frost mage & dont care for him (only at lv 25 now), but after reading posts & looking more at the talents i really like arcane...
i also like the max'd scorch & pyro in fire tree...
& the cc ability of the frost tree seems invaluable...
so i tried to get the best of 3 worlds (as much as possible) & came up with:

i really hate not having mind mastery & slow from the arcane tree, but i think it can work well.  i want to be versitile for bg's, pve, & instances.
i dont feel i need to own in any of those, just be respectable.  im a mage noob, so what do u think??

if i dont do this i may do a typical arcane(44)/frost(17) spec.

Personally, I would say stick to one school if you're going to hybrid with arcane, you miss out on too much in the frost tree there that there's almost no point in doing it, might as well be put into the increased damage on arcane or onto more fire skills.

i thot i WAS getting the key talents from frost (imp frst nova, imp blizz, permafrost).  icy veins is cool, but not needed for crowd control.  shatter is nice, but they have to be frozen to crit... i think i like the more constant crit & damage of the scorch talents better.

It is best to understand the game you are going to play at end game before deciding on your spec. If you are going to raid then I would say either a fire/frost spec or and arcane/frost spec. If you are PVP the a Frost/Arcane spec or a Fire/Arcane spec. Don't leave out icy veins or cold snap. In end game raids they are most valuable. Icy Veins stacks with your damage trinkets to give you 20% casting and the spell power increase of the trinket. This equals much bigger DPS gains than not having it. Cold snap will give you this effect twice during a boss fight and will also finish the cool down on your ice block.

Hey Erik, this is my idea of the triple hybrid Mage.  I just have 7 points on frost, but it utilizes Frost Nova (which one uses A LOT!), frost guard, and reduces resistance & mana cost.

Well dude i looked at your talents and it had some faults like Arcane Fortitude is tottally almost usless to mages as their armour will almost always be totallly shit.

but if i was to go for all talent lines based on the talent lines you chose i would go for these.
