Sorry, have to ask this question.

As a new player, I was really looking foward to PvP. When I hit 19, I jumped on in. It was fun for 5 minutes, then the twinks start showing up. What am I supposed to do against a twink? He has more HP and DMG than most players at level 25+.

So, the way I see it, a 'twink' is nothing more than 'noob ganking'. If you like PvP, why not stay in the bracket your main is at? Do you really need to make a twink to get kills? If so, maybe you need to twink your skills and not a toon.

Just my two cents, if ganking new players trying to learn the game is you thing, more power to you.

That may be a saving grace. As annoying as they may be, they do probably help the economy. I just can't help but feel bad for new players getting slaughtered in PvP when they don't know what a twink is.

Also, how is it fun to rack up kills in PvP when you know it has nothing to do with your skill? I mean, a bot could run the thing and crush any non-twink around.

I'll bet if they had an arena for just twinks, no one would make twinks. Wouldn't be any fun to get into a fair fight would it?

I have a main toon (70 druid - never twinked) and a few others. I have been playing my now 62 rogue more than anything. I twinked out at 49 and 59. Not only to gank the buggers that ganked me while I was up and coming (other twinks) but for the gear. With PVP rewards, when you decide to quest into higher levels it makes life soooooooooo much easier. I find that quests that I had done before with an average gear toon are now simple and I dont die 5 times if I am forced to solo them. The ones they suggest 2-3 players I do myself... and reap the benifits! Oh and the PURPLE PVP gear looks so sweeeeet!!!!!!!!! If you do it just to smoke lower level toons, thats just wanting to be a bully, and I will gank you as you pick on the tiny guys.

Because twink gear never needs to be upgraded, that's why.

I hate twinks, they really ruin the game for others... They're just for people who can't pvp with talent. The only bracket you DON'T get twinks in is 69, why bother when you can just get to 70 and get brilliant gear? 69 was the best pvp I'd ever done!

Personally, I don't mind at all, especially since I'm a healer.

Sure, I die in like 1-3 shots, but as long as you do SOMETHING, then that's a job well done.

Even if you die in 3 seconds. Why does it matter, since you can always level up?

I'm pretty sure there's reasons to get to 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70, not staying at the level before.

Yeah that too. Resilience really sucks for crit-based specs.

Why twink? Because you can. When I have my main at 70 and I plan on going all out on an alt twink. If you can't beat them, become one of them and then beat them.

Why not perfect your PvP at 70 instead of ruining the lower level BGs for eveyone who doesn't have a sugar daddy?

Seems pretty juvenile to me.

boo hoo actually people who twink have mains that are maxed and they have 1000s of gold to have fun with. its fun to rape every nub that comes near u in a BG

when you hit 70 you start at the bottom again. so dont moan about twinks cos when u hit 70 someone will have btter gear than you, "twinked?".
whats the point in joining a bg to be a mediocre player? most people in the game like to win.

    WOW. I have a twink, and 2 70s. I have perfected their PvP, i have done countless hours of BGs and arenas, so many that it probably numbers in the thousands. I made a twink because im soo tired of the gameplay my 2 70s classes' give, so rather than level a toon all the way up to 70, i get him to 29 and twink him, now i have a good pvp rogue. When you first hit 70, you will get bombed by full s3 players who will one shot you, is this wrong too? should everyone in every BG just wear greens? technically, epicing out your 70 is the same as twinking, both is improving their gear to get the best PvP results.

Dude if you dont get TBC you cant lv passed 60...

i got 2 wow accounts. 1 with 3 level 70 and 1 without TBC for my level 60 warrior. i like to raid the pre TBC raids to have a bit of fun i got all parts of the 60 pvp gear plus t1 and t2 geting close to full t3. its fun to raid naxx at such a low level when you get the chance to go but it is kindda stupid how bliz don't give level 60 ab and wsg for us as i know loads of people who spend there time on alts doing pvp at 60 for the epic set as i got bored easy on my mains. blizz gives level 70 all there own bg so why not level 60 too?

Battle grounds are, to my mind unfortunately, like professional strength based sports- in order to stay competitive you *must* take performance enhancing drugs.

In sports that's steroids, in BGs that's building a twink with a character to supply gold and friends to run instances for blue-drops.

I agree, I wish Blizzard could come up with a way that players who would like to enjoy BGs but don't wish to take the time and money to build a twink could play with like minded (and like-geared players)

Success in BGs is from experience resulting in good skills *and* from really good gear. When you are just stepping into a Battle Ground for the first time to get your feet wet, it doubtlessly will be wet from your own blood. Learning is a painful mess because, unlike any other sport or activity I can think of, you are tossed in with really experienced and over-geared players.

If you are persistent, you will learn and come back and do better each time. If you enjoy the game you will almost doubtlessly end up building a twink to stay competitive but, I can see how the skill/gear disparity could really turn off many people who might otherwise enjoy BGs because of the huge difference between normal gear and the advantages (largely Stamina) that twink gear provides.

A learning server which grouped players by experience and/or gear would be very welcomed. Not sure exactly how it could be managed but, I think it would be a nice alternative to those wishing it.

I can explain "why twink" easily enough for children to understand but at the same time explain every facet of this phenomanom.
You can find the answer to twinking by watching anyone thats hyper spoiled  in real life. Laguna Beach is a excellent example. Now what we do is apply this hyper spoiling trend to WoW.
Close your eyes and imagine...."you first start out the game as a lowly smear on the map(compare this to the father/mother figure just graduating college), you fight hard, meet people, create legends(compare this to said father/mother figure working up an empire). You are now 70(grats) you git every shred of epic armor, thousands of gold(the father/mother figure makes it to the top of said empire.starts slowing down). You think, 'I've done it all raids, battlegrounds, private mounts'. Now a human instinct sets in, 'I wanna baby!' shoots through your head. You now create in Alt(aka) twink in training(equivalent to father/mother figure having child). As you watch your young seed grow you shower it with lvl 70 love(compare to father/mother to gitting jessica the brand new Motorola cell phone, omg). You continue to do this until your pride and joy wants to go to BGs('daddy/mommy, I'm going to jessicas':D). Your lil baby boy/girl/it excels in WSG murdering every class, taking every flag(omg, becky! I can't believe you dated brad over tom, thats total drama!) You then git several tells, 'omg you're so OP, you ruin this game'(omg, Jessica! Youre so pretty, you keep taking my boyfriends,ugh wat drama!)"
Are u really ruining the game or taking Beckys boyfriend? No, you're just the product of a caring mother/father figure. Lol, jk. Twinking is just fun as hell.
